    Perkembangan pemikiran di tengah-tengah peradaban manusiamengalami ritme perjalanannya yang panjang. Perjalanan itusebagai USAha purifiasi pemikiran yang dikembangkan dimasing-masing peradaban. Berbekal perspektif dari berpikirsecara fiosofi sebagai sunnah kenabian Rasulullah saw., IbnuThufail memberikan suatu paradigma mistis atas pemikiran duniatimur. Dari ulasan yang dikemukakannya dia menyampaikanbahwa hakikat pemikiran kefisafatan yang telah dibangundalam kerangka konfrontatif sejatinya merupakan bagian yangbisa berdialektika secara intensif dan mutual. Berpijak kepadausaha untuk membangun hakikat dilektif fisafat dan agamasebagai warna hakiki pemikiran dalam dunia Islam, Ibnu Thufailmengilustrasikan suatu hikayat fiosofi Hayy bin Yaqzhan,sebuah kisah fiosofi dari USAha manusia membangun titiktitik rasionalitas dalam pertumbuhan berpikir mereka.     The purpose ofthis study was to determine the effect of commitment and achievement motivation on teacher performance. Descriptive quantitative research method using correlation and multiple regression statistics with the aim of analyzing the influence of two independent variables on the performance of teachers. The sampleused was the entire population of teachers as respondents. The results showed that the commitment and achievement motivation affect the performance of teachers. From the results of analysis, the influence ofthe two variables is quite strong .The result also evidenced from the F test and t-test, which states that both partially and simultaneously effect very significant on the performance of teachers. The results ofthis study, whencompared with previous research, the study supports previous research conducted.     AKAR-AKAR TEORI KONFLIK: Dialektika Konflk; Core Perubahan Sosial dalam Pandangan Karl Marx dan George Simmel

    Dalam perkembangan kajian teori sosial, kehadirannyamenjadi titik dasar dari proses kajian yang munculpada kerangka akademik studi sosiologi. Teori sosialmerupakan manifestasi dari berbagai macam pendekatanyang bisa dipergunakan untuk membedah varian-variandari dinamika kajian yang ada pada studi sosiologi.Besarnya peranan dari teori sosial ini mengukuhkaneksistensinya sebagai instrumen dasar pada bangunananalisis kajian sosial yang hadir dalam studi sosiologi.Hal ini pula yang bisa disandarkan kepada analisistentang manifestasi konflk dalam dinamika kehidupanmasyarakat. Analisis konflk pada realitas kehidupansosial menjadi fakta yang cukup mengesankan untukdikaji dalam rangka menempatkan situasi sosialyang berkembang di tengah-tengah masyarakat padakerangka dasar data yang tepat serta mengarah kepadaposisi impelementatif dari perwujudannya. Konflkyang muncul di tengah-tengah kehidupan masyarakatmerupakan bagian dari pembentukan masyarakat itusendiri. Untuk itulah, mengamati fenomena munculnyakonflk beberapa sosiolog membangun asumsi beragam.Bagi seorang ahli yang melihat masyarakat dari nilainilai internal kehidupan mereka, maka pengembanganteori sosial berbasis sosiologi mikro dikembangkan.Namun, bagi mereka yang melihat masyarakat dariaspek terluar, atau wilayah makro, maka kajian sosiologi makro dipergunakan. Pada kerangka ini,baik Marx dan Simmel sebagai penggagas analisistentang konflk mencoba memotret fenomena ini daridua sudut pandang. Marx ingin melihat masyarakatdalam perjuangan kelasnya. Sementara itu, Simmelmelihat bahwa pada pertumbuhannya, konflk itumemberikan fungsi pengembangan dalam masyarakatyang bersifat lunak. Manifetasi konflk dipersepsikanoleh Marx dan Simmel mampu menembus sistem sosialdalam masyarakat. Kedua tokoh ini pada ujungnyamenjelaskan tentang bipolaritas konflk yang dibangunoleh masing-masing. Marx menjelaskan manifestasikonflk sebagai USAha memecah stabilitas sosial denganpembentukan masyarakat komunis. Sementara itu,Simmel menjelaskan bahwa konflk merupakan interaksiyang bisa menghasilkan integrasi melalui kompromisosial

    Oral health status, knowledge, attitude and practice of patients with heart disease

    BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to investigate knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients about their oral health status. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, we analyzed the data of 150 CVD patients that collected by a self-administered questionnaire consists of demographic characteristics and KAP. Oral health indicators calculated based on the results of oral examination by an expert dentist. RESULTS: CVD patients had an overall moderate level of knowledge and attitude, but their practice was lower than moderate. There were important associations between knowledge scores with gender, education, residential area and financial status, between attitude scores with education and residential area, and between practice scores with education and financial status. There were no associations between KAP and age, marital status or job. Significant positive correlations were found between KAP components. Significant negative correlations were found between oral hygiene index with knowledge and practice. CONCLUSION: The practice of heart disease patients about their oral health was poor, and declares that increasing awareness and attitude may not promote practice. Efficient programs are needed to promote oral health practice of adult populations in special groups. © 2016, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences(IUMS). All rights reserved

    Household and community socioeconomic and environmental determinants of child nutritional status in Cameroon

    BACKGROUND: Undernutrition is a leading cause of child mortality in developing countries, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. We examine the household and community level socioeconomic and environmental factors associated with child nutritional status in Cameroon, and changes in the effects of these factors during the 1990s economic crisis. We further consider age-specific effects of household economic status on child nutrition. METHODS: Child nutritional status was measured by weight-for-age (WAZ) and height-for-age (HAZ) z-scores. Data were from Demographic and Health Surveys conducted in 1991 and 1998. We used analysis of variance to assess the bivariate association between the explanatory factors and nutritional status. Multivariate, multilevel analyses were undertaken to estimate the net effects of both household and community factors. RESULTS: Average WAZ and HAZ declined respectively from -0.70 standard deviations (SD), i.e. 0.70 SD below the reference median, to -0.83 SD (p = 0.006) and from -1.03 SD to -1.14 SD (p = 0.026) between 1991 and 1998. These declines occurred mostly among boys, children over 12 months of age, and those of low socioeconomic status. Maternal education and maternal health seeking behavior were associated with better child nutrition. Household economic status had an overall positive effect that increased during the crisis, but it had little effect in children under 6 months of age. Improved household (water, sanitation and cooking fuel) and community environment had positive effects. Children living in the driest regions of the country were consistently worst off, and those in the largest cities were best off. CONCLUSION: Both household and community factors have significant impact on child health in Cameroon. Understanding these relationships can facilitate design of age- and community-specific intervention programs

    Three-dimensional spectral domain optical coherence tomography and light microscopy of an intravitreal parasite

    BACKGROUND: Various imaging modalities play a role in diagnosing parasitic infections of the eye. We describe the spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) findings of an intravitreal parasite with subsequent evaluation by light microscopy. FINDINGS: This is a case report of a 37-year-old Ecuadorian man who presented with uveitic glaucoma and a new floater in his left eye for 1 week’s duration. Full ophthalmic examination revealed an intravitreal parasite. Color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography (FA), ocular ultrasonography (US), and SD-OCT were performed. The parasite was removed via 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy and sent to pathology for evaluation. Color fundus photography and ocular ultrasonography demonstrated an elongated foreign body within the vitreous above the retina. FA demonstrated minimal vascular changes in the vicinity of the parasite. SD-OCT was utilized to visualize the parasite and to create a three-dimensional (3D) image. The parasite was determined to be most consistent with Gnathostoma spp. by morphologic analysis. CONCLUSIONS: This is the first reported case of SD-OCT of an intravitreal parasite with corresponding evaluation by pathology. SD-OCT allows non-invasive, high-resolution visualization and 3D reconstruction of parasitic anatomy which may help establish tomographic criteria for species identification. In this study, the objectives are first to determine the effectiveness in the learning process of lilbanin morals, second to determine the effectiveness in shaping the morals of students in learning lil banin morals. descriptive qualitative research type. The conclusion is that the effectiveness of lil banin moral learning is quite good and has been very effective even though learning the lil banin book is a yellow book learning, so that the delivery of material is easy to understand by using attractive and appropriate methods such as exemplary methods, refraction, sorogan, wetonan, bandungan and memorization so that achieved in the formation of santri morals
