Ranking and Determining the Factors Affecting the Road Freight Accidents Model

The tremendous growth of population, particularly in developing countries, has led to increased number of travels, especially those with load and freight specifications. Hence, expanding the present facilities or developing new networks or systems concerning freight and transportation is an essential issue. Among the various transportation systems, road freight has secured a significant place in sub-urban transportation, as it is responsible for transporting loads, decreasing transportation costs, and increasing the safety of highway users. Besides these advantages, poor and nonstandard design and performance of sub-urban highways and transport fleet and equipment leads to the increased number of accidents and inefficiency of these facilities.  Based on these facts, the primary aim of the present study is to probe into the factors affecting road freight accident severity. For this purpose, the data obtained from road freight accidents occurring in 2016, 2017, and 2018 in Gilan Province, Iran, were used for analyzing the frequency, ranking and determining the factors, and creating models for accident severity. The results indicated that in accordance with the accident severity model in 2016, several factors such as the season of autumn, daytime light, drivers aged from 18 to 60, and pickup trucks have impacted the on-road freight accident severity. While, in 2017 the severity was affected by factors like rural road, freight trucks, non-faulty passenger cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians. When considering the effective variables in 2018, it was  found that such factors as the accident time (usually occurring between 12 p.m. to 6 p.m)., rural and major roads, freight trucks, non-faulty motorcycles, and the careless driving without due care and attention to the front were the variables affecting road freight accidents. Moreover, not following safety guidelines during freighting is the most effective variable in road freight accidents

Investigating the Emotional Theory of Mind in Iranian Married Women: A Descriptive Phenomenological Study

In marital relationships, the type of perception of the spouse’s behavior affects how the social information and behavior of the other couple is processed, leading to psychological consequences. Thus, a higher perception of each other’s mental state is followed by sincerity and more satisfaction with the relations. The present study was performed by using a descriptive phenomenological qualitative approach with the aim of investigating emotional theory of mind in 19 married Iranian women who were selected by purposive sampling in 2017. In order to coding data, MAXQDA 2018 software and the Colaizzi’s method were used for coding and analyzing the data, respectively. Finally, about three concepts including the emotion type, emotion expression and emotion regulation were extracted from the interviews. Results showed in emotion type, women remarked positive emotions of satisfaction and gratitude and negative emotions of sorrow and sadness only about themselves. Although emotion expression was possible through three ways but in women\u27s view point, men did not react to positive emotion non-verbally. In the third category, coping with negative emotions in the form of going into retreat was raised merely about men and emotion discharge and forgetfulness merely about women. The findings of the present study, a qualitative examination of emotions of the two genders from the viewpoint of women, is to a great extent in line with previous self-report and quantitative studies; they can be applied for Iran and other countries with similar culture and structure

Background: Changes in the state of energy balance owing to changes in physical activity (PA) may affect the reproductive system. Objectives: the aim of this study was to assess the association between PA and infertility of women living in Yazd 2014 - 2015. Materials and Methods: The study method was analytical cross-sectional on the Yazd Health Study (YaHS) data which was conducted on 10,000 people. We studied 2,611 women (20 and 49 yrs old), living in Greater Yazd area. PA information was collected using a physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ) short form. The standardized instruments were used for anthropometrics measurement. Results: Totally 135 cases of infertility were documented. The overall prevalence of infertility was 4.73% (95% CI: 3.94-5.59%). The median of PA scores (METs) in women was 746.66 and 25-75% interquartile range was 361.25-1277.25. The relationship according to the Chi-square test between infertility and PA, as categorized variables, was significant (p = 0.015). It showed over 90% of those who suffered from infertility had a low or moderate PA. Conclusion: The results of our study showed that there is a significant relationship between infertility and PA level in women living in Greater Yazd area. Also, women with infertility had lower activity levels, consistent with most previous studies. Key words: Women, Infertility, Physical activity, Yazd, Iran

The Effectiveness of Dream Analysis in Reducing Idiopathic Nightmares by Hermeneutic Single Case Efficacy Design (HSCED)

Introduction: Nightmares are prevalent parasomnia associated with various forms of psychological distress in both the clinical and general population. The aim of the current study was to explain the experiences of the client regarding the effects of nightmares and the process of dream analysis treatment on idiopathic nightmares. Methods: In this qualitative study, the client was a 34-year-old woman who participated in 8 sessions of dream analysis treatment. Based on DSM-5, she had the criteria of a nightmare. Rich data were collected from her. The hermeneutic method was used to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data. This study used a simple method to perform the hermeneutic analysis that requires only one person while maintaining its validity. Results: The findings showed that the frequency of nightmares decreased during the treatment. The client changed significantly during the treatment, and the dream analysis was also responsible for this change. According to Bohart’s criteria, the client changed with at least 72% confidence and with 87% confidence this change in relation to external factors happened as a result of the treatment. Useful therapeutic factors included examining the hidden meaning of nightmares, expressing emotions, self-awareness, and reducing helplessness. Conclusion: The results of the interventions showed that treatment processes made changes in the client that were unexpected and important to her and these changes would not have happened without the treatment. This method, in addition to exposing the person to the content of the nightmare, leads to the discovery and decoding of the content of the nightmare and understanding of its message to resolve conflicts

    Stopword detection for streaming content

© Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018. The removal of stopwords is an important preprocessing step in many natural language processing tasks, which can lead to enhanced performance and execution time. Many existing methods either rely on a predefined list of stopwords or compute word significance based on metrics such as tf-idf. The objective of our work in this paper is to identify stopwords, in an unsupervised way, for streaming textual corpora such as Twitter, which have a temporal nature. We propose to consider and model the dynamics of a word within the streaming corpus to identify the ones that are less likely to be informative or discriminative. Our work is based on the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) of word signals in order to extract two features, namely scale and energy. We show that our proposed approach is effective in identifying stopwords and improves the quality of topics in the task of topic detection

Cytotaxonomy of some Festuca species and populations in Iran

    Get PDF
Karyotypic study of nine populations belonging to five Festuca species showed chromosome numbers of 2n = 2x = 14, 2n = 4x = 28 and 2n = 6x = 42. The chromosome number of F. elwendiana is reported for the first time. The chromosomes were mostly metacentric and sub-metacentric. Significant differences in the size of chromosomes and their arm ratios indicated the occurrence of quantitative changes in the chromatin (DNA) material during species diversification. The species also differed in their karyotypic formulae possibly due to the occurrence of chromosome structural changes. The karyotypic data and meiotic characteristics of the species were used for multivariate analysis, which partly supports taxonomic treatment of the genus Festuca in the flora of Iran
