    FACTORS AFFECTING FREE THROWING

    Every basketball player has an appetite to increase the free throw shooting performance. Sometimes the game depends upon their success shots. But it is difficult for basketball players to improve their own performance because, to do so, there are some factors such as good timing of muscle activity and mechanical efficiency. Especially relating to mechanical efficiency, it was investigated in various physical movements. As a result, previous study indicated that mechanical efficiency was an important index to "skill". However, it has not been reported about its improvement in conjunction with training. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the mechanical efficiency of free throw shooting exercise in basketball, and assess the improvement of mechanical efficiency and performance through an eight week training program

    Effects of Hormones on Cultivation of Tricholoma matsutake Mycelia

    A mixture of callus of Akamatsu and mycelium of Tricholoma matsutake was obtained from roots of it with MS medium containing 0.01μM of 2, 4-D and 0.1μM of kinetin. Colony, which formed polymer of mycelia of T. matsutake, was obtained with MS medium containing 0.01μM of IAA and 0.01μM of kinetin. Therefore, it may be possible to cultivate T. matsutake by means of using hormones such as IAA and kinetin on the sawdust medium

    Cultural characteristics of Laetiporus sulphureus, producing an anti-thrombin substance

    The clotting time for thrombin of the culture broth from Laetiporus sulphureus was more than 44 times that of the control (2% malt extract medium), whereas the culture broths of all other strains exhibited lower anti-coagulative activity. In experiments on the utilization of carbon sources, the mycelial growth of L. sulphureus was rapid with glucose as the sole carbon source. Casamino acid was the best source for the strain. Thiamine was required for the mycelial growth of L. sulphureus. The optimum temperature for efficient mycelial growth was recorded at 30℃. The initial pH 4 to 5 was the most favorable for L. sulphureus for growth

    従来より「成人病」として広く知られ, 1997年に「生活習慣病」と行政により定義された一群の疾患群の中で, 虚血性心疾患が本邦において重要な位置を占めることはいうまでもない. 欧米ではその発症率・罹患率が高いこともあって狭心症や心筋梗塞の診断治療ガイドラインがこれまで数多く発表されている. 最近我が国においても, 日本循環器学会, 日本心臓病学会をはじめとする複数の学会の合同研究班が「虚血性心疾患の一次予防ガイドライン」, 「心筋梗塞二次予防に関するガイドライン」を発表した. これらのガイドラインは海外の成績の紹介やまとめにとどまらず, 本邦におけるこれまでの疫学調査や臨床研究をもとにして冠動脈疾患の病態や危険因子について日本人の特徴を詳細に検討し, 一次予防・二次予防の治療指針を提言している点が特徴である. 本稿ではこれらの診療ガイドラインを中心にして, 日本人の虚血性心疾患の予防について概説する
