DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v7i3.143This study is focused on the provenance and diagenetic processes affecting the sandstones of Lati Formation cropping out at Berau Area, East Kalimantan Province. Petrographic analysis of twenty-two samples from this formation shows that these sandstones are classified as litharenite, feldspathic litharenite, sublitharenite, feldspathic wacke, and lithic wacke, which are partially calcareous. Preserved diagenetic processes were visible on the petrographic analysis including cementation, replacement, dolomitization, compaction, and dissolution. The provenance of these sandstones is dominated by granitic rocks initiated from tectonic setting of rifted continental margin, transported toward southeast

Limestone Microfacies of Baturaja Formation Along Air Rambangnia Traverse, South OKU, South Sumatra

DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v1i1.173Limestones of the Baturaja Formation occur at Air Rambangnia traverse, South Ogan Komering Ulu, South Sumatra, and they are used as objects for microfacies studies. The microfacies studies are based on a detailed petrographic analysis of thirty four limestone samples, taken from the traverse. Four types of the limestones are identified such as wackestone, packstone, grainstone, and floatstone. At least five microfacies form the limestone succesion of the Baturaja Formation. They are interpreted as sedimentary facies of very restricted bay and pond, back reef local slope, slope and shelf edge, winnowed platform edge sand, and reef flank facies

Limestone Diagenetic Records Based on Petrographic Data of Sentolo Formation at Hargorejo Traverse, Kokap, Kulonprogo

DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v7i2.138Limestone diagenetic records of Sentolo Formation have been studied in order to trace the history of the geological processes after the deposition of the rocks. A stratigraphic measure traverse was made in Hargorejo Village, Kulonprogo District, to identify the petrological characteristics of the Sentolo Formation. Limestone samples were taken along this traverse, and were used for a petrographic analysis. The analysis of thirtyeight limestone samples shows that the type is dominated by bioclastic grainstones which have been affected by various kinds of diagenetic processes after the deposition. The diagenetic processes recorded under the polarization microscope include cementation, replacement, bioturbation, micritization, recrystallization, dolomitization, compaction, fracturing, and leaching

This study was conducted in July 2014, located in the Putri Sembilan estuaryDistrict of Rupat Utara. Mangrove snails of T. sulcata as one of the foods favored ofRupat Utara coastal communities. This research aims to determine the patterns ofdistribution and population density of gastropods T. sulcata in estuary waters PutriSembilan District of Rupat Utara. The method used in this study was a surveymethod and determination of observation stations was determined by purpossivesampling method, where the location of the study divided into three stations. Theresults showed that the highest density of T. sulcata found at Station 2 which locatedat area of mangrove (± 100 meters from the station 1 towards the upper river) whilethe lowest density was found at station I (the mouth of the estuary of the river). Thedistribution pattern of mangrove snails T. sulcata overall was evenly which rangesfrom 0,01 - 0,05

Interpretation of Bouguer Anomaly to Determine Fault and Subsurface Structure at Blawan-ijen Geothermal Area

Gravity survey has been acquired by Gravimeter Lacoste & Romberg G-1035 at Blawan-Ijen geothermal area. It was a focusing study from previous research. The residual Bouguer anomaly data was obtain after applying gravity data reduction, reduction to horizontal plane, and upward continuation. Result of Bouguer anomaly interpretation shows occurrence of new faults and their relative movement. Blawan fault (F1), F2, F3, and F6 are normal fault. Blawan fault is main fault controlling hot springs at Blawan-Ijen geothermal area. F4 and F5 are oblique fault and forming a graben at Banyupahit River. F7 is reverse fault. Subsurface model shows that Blawan-Ijen geothermal area was dominated by the Ijen caldera forming ignimbrite (ρ1=2.670 g/cm3), embedded shale and sand (ρ2=2.644 g/cm3) as Blawan lake sediments, magma intrusion (ρ3=2.814 g/cm3 & ρ7=2.821 g/cm3), andesite rock (ρ4=2.448 g/cm3) as geothermal reservoir, pyroclastic air fall deposits (ρ5=2.613 g/cm3) from Mt. Blau, and lava flow (ρ6=2.890 g/cm3)

Hypocenter Determination and Clustering of Volcano-tectonic Earthquakes in Gede Volcano 2015

Gede volcano is an active volcano in West Java, Indonesia. Research about determination the volcano-tectonic earthquake source positions has given results using volcano-tectonic earthquakes data from January until November 2015. Volcano-tectonic earthquakes contained deep (VT-A) have frequency (maximum amplitude) range 5 – 15 Hz. Furthermore, they contain shallow earthquake, VT-B have range 3-5 Hz and LF have range 1-3 Hz. Geiger's Adaptive Damping (GAD) methods used for determining the hypocenter of these volcano-tectonic (VT) events. Hypocenter distribution divided into 4 clusters. Cluster I located in the crater of Gede volcano dominated by VT-B earthquakes their depth range 2 km below MSL to 2 km above MSL including the VT-B swarm. The seismic sources in cluster I indicated dominant due to the volcanic fluid or gas filled in conduit pipes. Cluster II located at the west of Gede volcano caused by Gede-Pangrango fault-line dominated by VT-A earthquakes with depths range 1.5 km below MSL to 700 m above MSL. Cluster III located in the North of Gede volcano dominated by VT-A events there caused by graben fault area with those depths range 7.5 – 1.65 km below MSL. Cluster IV located in South West of Gede volcano contained VT-A earthquakes with depth range at 10 km below MSL and VT-B earthquakes this depth 2 km below MSL. Due to magma intrusion filled into fractures of the fault in the West of Gede volcano this shallow magma filling-fractures and degassing in subsurface assumed dominates the volcano-tectonic events from January to November 2015 due to faults extends from North to South occured in the West of Gede volcano

Kesimpulan adalah penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi kepala ruang dalam menampilkan gaya kepemimpinannya sehingga terwujud kepuasankerja para anggotanya

Regression-Correlation of Petrophysical Inter-Parameter of Igneous Rocks and Limestone From Kulonprogo Mountain Region, YOGYAKARTA Special Region

DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v6i4.127Laboratory test of complete petrophysic parameters encompasing water absorption, compressive strength, Los Angeles abrasive strength, Rudellof abrasive strength, and wear resistance with Na2SO4 has been carried out for igneous and carbonate rocks taken from Kulonprogo Mountains region. Statistical verification of the data exhibits variation of correlation coefficients among parameters ranging from medium to very high value. The values of petrophysic test results are determined by the rock types. The result of this study is useful to estimate the accuracy of values of each parameter test result in Geological Survey Institute Laboratory using regression formula representing each relationship
