The STROBE (strengthening the reporting of observational studies in epidemiology) statement presents recommendations to improve the reporting of observational studies. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of reporting the case-control articles indexed in the Scientific Information Database (SID). This descriptive study was conducted in 2016 in the all case-control articles indexed in the SID website over a 10-year period (2006 to 2015). The researchers visited the SID website and used the keywords of "case" and "control" in titles or keywords of the articles. Then, the STROBE checklist was completed for each article. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The first item of the checklist was observed in 100% of the studied articles. None of these articles had described "duration of exposure" and "how missing data were addressed." None of these articles had used the flowchart. The quality of reporting in studied articles was acceptable, but some of the items in the STROBE checklist need more attention

127-135As a segment of ongoing surveys and with the aim of expansion of environmentally benign processes, a series of biologically varied type of substituted 2-amino-3-cyano-4H-pyrans and pyran-annulated Scaffolds have been synthesized by tandem Knoevenagel-cyclocondensation of aldehydes, malononitrile, and C-H-activated acidic compounds in aqueous ethanol in the presence of Ag/TiO2 nano-thin films as an eco-friendly, recyclable, and, robust catalyst at 60°C. The salient features of this protocol are mild reaction conditions, producing target compounds in high yields, short reaction times, high atom economy, eco-friendly catalyst, easy isolation of products and no column chromatographic separation. Also, it is observed that the catalyst is highly stable during the reaction and several reuse times without observable loss in catalytic performance

Lifestyle is a reflection of the culture and civilization of a society and adherence to moral and social values. The product of this adherence is a system based on those values which, if derived from religious faith, results in a faithful life. The aim of this study is to provide a model for this type of life, which has been done by using narrative data taken from "Muntakhab Mīzān al-Ḥikmah " and by "grounded theory" method. The research findings show that the central category of this model is the faithful lifestyle that ontology, theism believing in resurrection are its causal conditions that are formed in the context of religiosity, faith, piety and good governance. Interventional conditions include: moral, social, economic evils and family injuries. In order to achieve the dignity of this world and the hereafter, which is the output of this model, one must use belief, worship, moral, social, economic and health strategies

Comparison of Propofol and Sodium Thiopental Effects on Serum Levels of IL-23 and IL-17 after Electroconvulsive Therapy in Major Depression

Introduction: Major depressive disorder is associated with changes in immune function. One of the most common treatments of major depression is electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), which is performed under general anesthesia. The aim of this study was to comparison the effect of propofol and sodium thiopental on serum levels of interleukine-23 (IL-23) and interleukine-17 (IL-17) after ECT in major depression. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 62 patients with major depression who were treated with ECT. They were randomly divided into the Propofol and Sodium Thiopental groups. The serum concentrations of IL-23 and IL-17 were measured using ELISA method prior to ECT (T0), 30 min after ECT (T1) and 5 hours after ECT (T2). Data analyzed using descriptive statistics and Chi-square tests, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA and repeated measures. Results: No significant differences were observed between Propofol and Sodium Thiopental groups regarding the serum levels of IL-23 and IL-17 (p>0.05). The trend of serum levels of IL-17 and IL-23 was not significant over time (p>0.05). Conclusions: The choice of propofol or sodium thiopental for ECT in patients with major depressive disorder is no different in terms of short-time effects in serum IL-23 and IL-17 levels

Ag/TiO2 nano-thin films as robust heterogeneous catalyst for one-pot, multi-component synthesis of bis (pyrazol-5-ol) and dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole analogs

The present methodology describes two efficient, eco-friendly, and simple routes for the cascade synthesis of biologically relevant pyrazole scaffolds using Ag/TiO2 nano-thin films as a green, robust, and recyclable catalyst. Ag/TiO2 nano-thin films were successfully applied for the synthesis of bis (pyrazol-5-ol) and dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives in the one-pot, multicomponent manner. These operationally straightforward procedures have merits, including high yields of products from a simple set of readily available starting materials, eco-friendliness, and heterogeneity and reusability of catalyst. Also, it was observed that the catalyst was highly stable during the reaction and several reuse times without observable losses in catalytic performance. Keywords: Ag/TiO2 nano-thin films, Bis (pyrazol-5-ols), Dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles, Eco-friendlines

Objective: Synthetic fluorescent dyes that are conjugated to antibodies are useful tools toprobe molecules. Based on dye chemical structures, their photobleaching and photostabilityindices are quite diverse. It is generally believed that among different fluorescent dyes,Alexa Fluor family has greater photostability than traditional dyes like fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC) and Cy5. Alexa Fluor 568 is a member of Alexa Fluor family presumed tohave superior photostability and photobleahing profiles than FITC.Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, we conjugated Alexa Fluor 568 andFITC dyes to a mouse anti-human nestin monoclonal antibody (ANM) to acquire their photobleachingprofiles and photostability indices. Then, the fluorophore/antibody ratios werecalculated using a spectrophotometer. The photobleaching profiles and photostability indicesof conjugated antibodies were subsequently studied by immunocytochemistry (ICC).Samples were continuously illuminated and digital images acquired under a fluorescentmicroscope. Data were processed by ImageJ software. Results: Alexa Fluor 568 has a brighter fluorescence and higher photostability thanFITC.Conclusion: Alexa Fluor 568 is a capable dye to use in photostaining techniques and ithas a longer photostability when compared to FITC
