[EN] Herein I present my Degree Final Work of practical type. As its title suggests, it has been the design and development of a prototype game, covering different aspects of the production thereof such as its approach, organizing interactions in it, performing a technical demo, the composition of its main theme and the development of its website. The main goal of the work was to bring together the training acquired during the development of Degree, inside and outside the curriculum of this Degree, in order to explore different profiles within the game industry such as a game designer with knowledge programming, a lead and technical artist, a music composer or a web developer, with the aim of acquiring such multidisciplinary expertise. For this I assumed the design and production of the game. This includes the design of interaction and approach of their art direction and its technical treatment, the programming, the composition of its main theme and variations, choice and sound processing, and the development of its website. The title chosen for the game is "END", whose translation in Spanish is "FIN", and responds to the theme of the game that interprets a supposed end of the world and, using humor and irony as a narrative tool, they put in trial moral values. The game deals with existential issues, while the choice is between good and evil, or human nature in times of crisis. On the other hand, it has been paid to detail both his humor and artistic fluency as the main user activity that is simply to go exploring and discovering the different winks and micro stories of the game.[ES] En esta memoria expongo mi Trabajo de Fin de Grado de tipología práctica. This Doctoral Thesis focuses on the polymer-clay nanocomposites, consisting mainly of a polyamide polymer matrix (PA6 or PA66) and a nanometric fraction of clay-like nature, especifically organophilized sepiolite. The first part focused on the determination of the mechanical, thermal, optical and crystallographic properties of the nanocomposites PA6-sepiolite with different percentages of sepiolite (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9% by weight). The second part focused on the use of laser welding technology to carry out the union of the nanocomposites with PLA to: analyze the feasibility of PA / PLA welding, determine the most suitable process conditions to carry out these joints, characterize the welds in terms of mechanical properties and determine the influence of the percentage of sepiolite on the properties of the welds from the chemical and morphological point of view.Tesis Univ. Novel Results for the κ–μ Extreme Fading Distribution: Generation of White Samples and Capacity Analysis

    Get PDF
We provide new analytical results for the κ-μ extreme (κ-μ-E) fading distribution, which is useful to model propagation conditions more severe than Rayleigh fading. First, we calculate a closed-form expression for the cumulative distribution function in terms of the first-order Marcum Q-function, which allows us to accurately generate κ-μ-E distributed random variables using the inversion method. Then, we investigate the ergodic capacity in this scenario. Strikingly, we observe that the capacity in the high-SNR regime scales differently than in all conventional fading models

Perceptions and Profiles of Young People Regarding Spa Tourism: A Comparative Study of Students from Granada and Aachen Universities

The APC and translation into English was funded by Research Group "Socio-space dynamics territory planning in Andalusia" Ref: HUM355. University of Granada.Spa tourism has undergone important changes in recent decades, actively embracing wellness and wellbeing. However, this transition is taking place in different ways in Europe, and this has led to varying perceptions of thermalism that have little to do with its original conception. The main aim of this study was to analyse current perceptions of spa tourism amongst university students, so as to identify profiles and compare the differences between two study cases: Granada (Spain) and Aachen (Germany). For this purpose, we applied a methodology that combines artificial intelligence techniques with questionnaires containing both quantitative and qualitative variables. This enabled us to identify and characterize a series of profiles, so as to acquire detailed knowledge of the perceptions of these students regarding spa tourism in Granada and Aachen. On the basis of the results, the interviewees were grouped together into seven profiles from which we deduced that young Germans from Aachen visit spas more frequently and have a more realistic perception of the thermal sector than young Spanish people from Granada. This situation could limit present and future demand for spas in southern Spain. With this in mind, in this paper we present an updated assessment of the demand for spas amongst university students, in order to design effective geomarketing strategies in two cities with long spa traditions.Research Group "Socio-space dynamics territory planning in Andalusia", University of Granada HUM35

The κ–μ Shadowed Fading Model: Unifying the κ–μ and η–μ Distributions

    Get PDF
This paper shows that the recently proposed k-μ shadowed fading model includes, besides the k-μ model, the η-μ fading model as a particular case. This has important relevance in practice, as it allows for the unification of these popular fading distributions through a more general, yet equally tractable, model. The convenience of new underlying physical models is discussed. Then, we derive simple and novel closed-form expressions for the asymptotic ergodic capacity in k-μ shadowed fading channels, which illustrate the effects of the different fading parameters on the system performance. By exploiting the unification here unveiled, the asymptotic capacity expressions for the k-μ, η-μ, and Rician shadowed fading models are also obtained in closed form as special cases

The dynamics of user channels in massive MIMO systems

    Get PDF
The SNR associated with the different users in large-scale MIMO systems depends on the magnitude of the eigenvalues of the channel power matrix HH H. While it is known that the spread between the best and worst channels is reduced when the number of antennas N at the BS grows, there is little known about how these channels change due to the user mobility. Do all parallel channels change at the same rate, or conversely is their dynamic behavior different for the best and worst channels? We evaluate the interplay between the number of BS antennas N and the number of (single-antenna) users K in MIMO systems, and investigate the effect of letting N grow on the dynamics of the best and worst channels in this multiuser set-up.Universidad de Málaga. A Tractable Line-of-Sight Product Channel Model: Application to Wireless Powered Communications

    Get PDF
We here present a general and tractable fading model for line-of-sight (LOS) scenarios, which is based on the product of two independent and non-identically distributed κ- μ shadowed random variables. Simple closed-form expressions for the probability density function and cumulative distribution function are derived, which are as tractable as the corresponding expressions derived from a product of Nakagami-m random variables. This newly proposed model simplifies the challenging characterization of LOS product channels, as well as combinations of LOS channels with non-LOS ones. Results are used to analyze performance measures of interest in the context of wireless powered communications.Universidad de Málaga. Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucía Tech

Synthesis and Characterisation of Acrylic Resin-Al Powder Composites Suitable for Additive Manufacturing

    Get PDF
Stereolithography is an additive manufacturing technology commonly used to build either prototypes or final parts. Nevertheless, the manufacture of structural parts has been ruled out owing to the poor mechanical properties of conventional UV-curable resins. Moreover, the inventory of available commercial resins is still limited and they exhibit low thermal and electrical conductivity values. In this work, some composite materials were designed using Al microparticles dispersed within an SLA commercial resin matrix. These composites overcame the difficulties caused by the light scattering effect during the photopolymerisation process in the SLA technology. Dispersion of the filler was characterised by means of SEM/EDX and AFM. The composites exhibited improved thermal and mechanical behaviour in comparison with the pristine resin. The simplicity of the synthesis method used to prepare the composites provides a convenient starting point to explore new ways of designing composites for SLA with improved mechanical and functional properties
