Analysis of international tourism in Seville
The following project consists in the analysis and delineation of a general international touristic profile of visitors to the city of Seville, in order to draw relevant, meaningful conclusions on this particular issue. To get to that point, a section essentially introductory in nature will be laid out in the first place, thus providing the necessary ground floor to grasp the fundamental aspects of the origin, development and operation of tourism in Spain, with an additional, specific focus on Seville. In turn, once the touristic profile for Seville as a thriving destination is delimited and defined, a series of measures and initiatives will be put forward which might contribute to further promotion of tourism in Seville, as well as increase international tourists’ overall level of satisfaction.Universidad de Sevilla. Helium nucleation in liquid metals
Obtaining a successful nuclear fusion reaction is a really hard task. One of the factors that we must consider is the high temperatures that the blanket that wraps up the plasma can achieve. Due to this issue, the metals that are used acquire liquid properties, being then a problem when contacting with the helium resulting from the nuclear fusion reaction of tritium. This is due to the fact that helium bubbles are formed at the pressure and temperature conditions that take place in these devices. These bubbles must be studied as that they can compromise the efficiency of the breeding blanket, and thus the efficiency of the reactor. For this purpose, two simulation methods will be used: Monte-Carlo (MC) and Molecular Dynamics (MD). These bubbles were reproduced under controlled conditions at a certain range of pressures, and the results were compared with available experimental data

Extracting past-future vacuum correlations using circuit QED
We propose a realistic circuit QED experiment to test the extraction of
past-future vacuum entanglement to a pair of superconducting qubits. The qubit
P interacts with the quantum field along an open transmission line for an
interval T_on and then, after a time-lapse T_off, the qubit F starts
interacting for a time T_on in a symmetric fashion. After that, past-future
quantum correlations will have transferred to the qubits, even if the qubits do
not coexist at the same time. We show that this experiment can be realized with
current technology and discuss its utility as a possible implementation of a
quantum memory.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures. v2: version accepted to Physical Review Letters.

Effect of graphene on the fracture behaviour of 3D printed PLA SENB specimens
ABSTRACT: This paper analyses the effect of graphene addition on the fracture behaviour of 3D printed PLA SENB specimens containing crack-like defects. The addition of graphene is assumed to improve the tensile behaviour of 3D printed PLA material, but the integrity of structural components strongly depends on the material fracture resistance. Tensile and fracture SENB specimens have been tested with different raster orientations (0/90, 30/-60 and 45/-45), showing that the effect of graphene addition (1 wt. %) is very sensitive to the raster orientation: this effect is significant for raster orientation 45/-45 and very limited for 0/90 (with 30/-60 providing intermediate results). The authors of this work would like to express their gratitude to the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation for the financial support of the project PGC2018-095400-B-I00 “Comportamiento en fractura de materiales compuestos nano-reforzados con defectos tipo entalla”
Thermal resting pattern and acute skin temperature response to exercise in older adults: Role of cardiorespiratory fitness
Background
Infrared thermography is a growing area of interest in sports science due to the potential of skin temperature (Tsk) measurements to provide valuable information from rest to exercise. However, limited research exists on Tsk in older adults and the impact of factors such as sex and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) on Tsk. This study aims to investigate Tsk at rest and after acute exercise in older adults and assess whether sex or CRF influences Tsk.
Methods
Ninety-two participants (41 women, 68.48 ± 3.01 years) were examined with a thermographic camera in a conditioned room (23.02 ± 3.01 °C) at rest and after a graded protocol. The Tsk of 25 regions of interest (ROIs) were extracted and analysed.
Results
Men had higher overall Tsk at rest in 76% of ROIs, showing significant differences (p < 0.010) in six specific ROIs, independent of CRF. Both sexes had similar Tsk responses after graded exercise, with increases in distal parts (1.06 ± 0.50 °C), decreases in proximal parts (−0.62 ± 0.42 °C), and stable central Tsk (0.23 ± 0.59 °C). Increases in lower limb Tsk were significantly associated with CRF in men and women (β = 0.438, p = 0.001, and β = 0.535, p < 0.001, respectively), explaining 17% and 27% of the variance, respectively.
Conclusions
This study demonstrates a sex-specific effect on resting Tsk in older adults, suggesting that sex-specific Tsk patterns should be considered when analysing Tsk in this population. Additionally, the association between increases in lower limb Tsk and CRF suggests that Tsk could be a promising predictor of CRF in older adults.Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry

A review of the palaeoclimatic inference potential of Iberian Quaternary fossil batrachians
Ecological suitability analysis aims to model the potential or probable distribution of species using environmental variables and available species occurrence information as predictors. Most of the European fossil Quaternary amphibians belong to extant species, and being physiologically ectothermic animals, their current ecological niches could become a reliable inference tool to infer past environmental conditions. However, this expectation has never been properly verified. The validity and accuracy of palaeoclimatic inferences based on batrachian species ranges is tested on the Iberian Peninsula, using both palaeofaunistic and Recent distribution data, and an updated database of georeferenced species occurrences is provided. The difficulties of using current geographic information to represent the full spectrum of environmental conditions at which a species occurs are critically examined. A palaeofaunistic review of the role played by historical factors as dispersal limitations for present amphibian species ranges is presented using the available phylogeographical scenarios. Virtual hypothetical taxa can be devised by considering the distributions of several species together and relating their known joint presences with the environmental conditions in these locations. Species distribution models based on these virtual taxa provide the best advisable inferential procedure. For direct raw inferences of the mutual climatic range method, contrary to expectations, the combined taxa sets do not increase their accuracy with the number of species included. This preliminary review shows that Iberian amphibian palaeoclimatic inferences are both valid and reliable enough, a sufficient approximation to complement other techniques. The precision, however, is quite variable among taxa, reflecting the effect of non-climaticPeer reviewe
