Data interlibrary loan (ILL), after having access to a number of packages of electronic journals (through a purchase made by our consortium of health libraries), we wanted to analyze the change in the number of ILL requests. So, we make a comparative analysis of the requests we made and we receive from other Spanish regions. We compared data of the previous year before having the electronic subscriptions (2006) and data of the last available year (2008)

The outlining of agricultural plots based on spatiotemporal consensus segmentation

Producción CientíficaThe outlining of agricultural land is an important task for obtaining primary information used to create agricultural policies, estimate subsidies and agricultural insurance, and update agricultural geographical databases, among others. Most of the automatic and semi-automatic methods used for outlining agricultural plots using remotely sensed imagery are based on image segmentation. However, these approaches are usually sensitive to intra-plot variability and depend on the selection of the correct parameters, resulting in a poor performance due to the variability in the shape, size, and texture of the agricultural landscapes. In this work, a new methodology based on consensus image segmentation for outlining agricultural plots is presented. The proposed methodology combines segmentation at different scales—carried out using a superpixel (SP) method—and different dates from the same growing season to obtain a single segmentation of the agricultural plots. A visual and numerical comparison of the results provided by the proposed methodology with field-based data (ground truth) shows that the use of segmentation consensus is promising for outlining agricultural plots in a semi-supervised manner.

    Get PDF

Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome Type Arthrochalasia: A Systematic Review

    Get PDF
Ehlers–Danlos syndrome type arthrochalasia (aEDS) is a rare genetic disease characterized by severe generalized joint hypermobility, bilateral congenital hip dislocation, skin hyperextensibility, muscle hypotonia, and mild dysmorphic features. It is an autosomal dominant connective tissue disease causing defects in collagen, associated with two genes, COL1A1 or COL1A2. Only about 42 cases have been published worldwide. Treatment is currently symptomatic and focuses on increasing the quality of life of these patients, as there is no curative treatment. The main objective of the review was to update information on Ehlers–Danlos syndrome type arthrochalasia from scientific publications. The review report was carried out in accordance with the criteria of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and MetaAnalyses (PRISMA) review protocol, by searching Orphanet, OMIM, PubMed, and Scopus, as well as free sources. A total of 20 articles were analyzed, which, after analysis, provide an updated report that aims to establish a solid starting point for future lines of research

This article presents the case of elderly Asturians living in Cuba, as representatives of a part of the history of migrations between both territories. By approaching their actual experiences and life histories, we can also discover their perceptions of the resources available to them, resulting from the social policies implemented by the different territories. Among the resources made available to seniors, the associative framework emerges as a fundamental factor for channeling and administering the possibilities derived from the diverse regulations and social policies. Special attention is given to the «Children of the [Civil] War», whose histories come to the forefront with now that the Law of Historical Memory begins to be enforced. The prominence of these seniors rooted in the need for historical recognition of their exile, is now linked to the revitalization of naturalizations among their descendants. This procedure opens the way to the possibility of more flexible relations among family members in both countries, and thus writing a new page in the history of migrations between Spain and Cuba

Background: Hydrotherapy is a technique used for pain management during labour, but its safety for both the mother and foetus remains uncertain. Objective: The main aim of this study is to determine whether the use of hydrotherapy in the first stage of labour is safe for both the mother and newborn. Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted to collect data from the partogram, maternal and neonatal history. Results: A total of 377 women who gave birth at the Costa del Sol Hospital in Malaga between January 2010 and December 2020 were randomly selected. They were divided into a control group (253 women) and an intervention group (124 women) that used hydrotherapy in the first stage of labour. There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of age, history of previous miscarriages, type of delivery, or newborn weight. The results showed that most women who opted for hydrotherapy were nulliparous, and the use of hydrotherapy during labour was safe for both the mother and foetus. There were no significant differences in the variables of maternal arterial hypotension, postpartum haemorrhage, postpartum maternal fever, foetal complications, neonatal admission, 1 and 5 min Apgar scores, umbilical arterial or venous pH, or foetal cardiotocographic recording. However, there was a significant difference (p = 0.005) in the rate of breastfeeding among mothers who opted for hydrotherapy (96% vs. 85.7%). Conclusions: The use of hydrotherapy during the first stage of labour is safe and is associated with increased breastfeeding rates compared to conventional delivery.University of GranadaOfficial College of Nursing of Granad
