    The Challenges in Inculcating Islamic Values in the National Educational System in the Era of Globalization: A Case-Study at a Private Secondary School

    Globalization has a strong impact on the world of education. it needs to consider the best solutions that can be implemented so that the National Educational System (NES) can play the role and function it should. The process of reformulating educational policies must pay attention to Islamic values, which are the beliefs of most of society in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to investigate the challenges to the inculcation of Islamic values in the National Educational System (NES) in the era of globalization. Qualitative research was adopted as the method in this study. Five school authorities and five teachers with more than fifteen years of experience were interviewed in semi-structured interviews. Previous research found that teachers faced many problems in inculcating Islamic values, such as in the process of teaching and learning, curriculum, methods of teaching, and so on. The limitation of previous research was most of the problems in the process of teaching and learning only. Here we report the problems that become challenges in inculcating Islamic values in the NES in the era of globalization. The challenges are the national curriculum, parentsโ€™ lack of support, studentsโ€™ diverse backgrounds, and the pandemic scenario of COVID-19. Therefore, school authorities and teachers should try continuously to provide the best education to students, such as innovation and evaluation in teaching and learning both related to subjects in the national curriculum, and the activities in instilling Islamic values. Additionally, it needs good cooperation with various parties like the government, parents, and students.

    The purpose of this research was to identify the perception of the inculcation of Islamic Values in the National Educational System among the school authorities and the teachers at a Private Secondary School in Lampung Indonesia. Qualitative research was adapted as the method in this study. The phenomenology approach has been chosen in the quest of arriving at the objectives of the study. A semi-structured interview form, observation form, and document analysis were used as data collection tools. Semi-structured interview acquired by interviewing three school authorities and three teachers. The data of the interviews were transcribed. Subsequently, the data was analyzed manually to generate the themes. The themes have been checked by two raters who are experts in the field. The finding of this study revealed that the inculcation of Islamic values in the National Educational System has been conducted for thirty years through the habituation of prayer in congregation, reciting Qur'an and Asmaul Husna before learning, the culture of greetings, and the program of Tahfidzul Qur'an. Considering the research findings, the school authorities and teachers should evaluate regularly pertaining to the inculcation of Islamic values because of the development of globalization that felt strong and open currently

    PEMBATASAN KEGIATAN MASYARAKAT PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19 VARIAN OMICRON BAGI MASYARAKAT KECAMATAN SIANTAR SITALASARI

    Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam  tentang bahaya penyebaran Covid-19, khususnya varian B1.1.529 (Omicron), dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk  mematuhi protokol kesehatan, social distancing, dan pelaksanaan  pembatasan kegiatan bagi seluruh masyarakat,  perkantoran, dunia usaha, dunia industri, aktivitas keagamaan, sosial budaya dan berbagai aktivitas kemasyarakatan lainnya sampai pada tingkat kelurahan di kecamatan Siantar Sitalasari. Covid-19 varian Omicron ini dapat meningkatkan angka kematian dan mempengaruhi efektivitas vaksin. Masalah yang ditemukan ditengah masyarakat sampai saat ini adalah masih tingginya masyarakat yang terpapar Covid-19 varian Omicron yang menjadi salah satu varian Covid-19 yang sedang berkembang, padahal pemerintah telah melaksanakan berbagai kebijakan mulai dari pemberlakuan lock down, pembatasan skala besar, social distancing, protokol kesehatan, pembatasan kegiatan masyarakat, dan vaksin Booster bagi seluruh warga masyarakat, namun hasilnya belum dapat menurunkan secara signifikan penyebaran Covid-19 varian Omicron. Untuk mensosialisasikan materi pengabdian masyarakat tersebut kepada masyarakat digunakan metode ceramah dan tanya-jawab kepada seluruh warga masyarakat kelurahan Bah Kapul Kecamatan Siantar Sitalasari yang berlangsung selama 90 menit. Hasil dari sosialisasi tersebut semakin meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang bahaya dari penyebaran Covid-19 khususnya varian Omicron serta kesadaran untuk melindungi dirinya dalam melakukan berbagai aktivitas sehari-hari di kantor, pasar, rumah ibadah, dan berbagai kegiatan lainnya

    Banjir bandang yang disertai material lumpur, batu dan kayu menerjang desa Rogo. Puluhan rumah warga tertimbun lumpur setinggi 1-2meter dan tidak layak huni. Dampak yang ditimbulkan seperti kekurangan makanan, air bersih serta kebutuhan dasar lainnya. Peran modal sosial dibutuhkan dalam upaya pemulihan pasca bencana banjir bandang. Upaya melibatkan masyarakat dengan donasi atau bantuan kemanusiaan. Oleh karena jumlah korban banjir bandang cukup besar dan kebutuhan korban banjir bandang yang mendesak maka melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan bantuan kemanusiaan civitas akademika Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu untuk Korban Banjir Bandang Rogo, Kabupaten Sigi provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Kegiatan penggalangan donasi dilakukan setelah informasi dari media sosial tentang kejadian banjir bandang di Desa Rogo. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan penyaluran sembako (Beras, minyak goreng, gula pasir, teh) nasi kuning, buah pisang, sayur-sayuran, Biskuit balita dan ibu hamil, popok, ember dan gayung. Kegiatan penggalangan donasi dan penyalurannya dilaksanakan pada tanggal 05-07 September 2021. Masyarakat Rogo yang terdampak banjir bandang menerima dengan baik bantuan yang diberikan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan berjalan dengan lancar
