    AbstrakTujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan sosialisasi penerapan dua model pembelajaran yaitu model course review horay dan model make a match dalam pembelajaran matematika. Populasi dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 26 Makassar yang berjumlah 278 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik simple random sampling. Sampel kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-1 dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang terpilih sebagai kelas eksperimen1 sedangkan kelas VII-3 dengan jumlah 31 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen 2. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa berupa tes essai. Data diolah menggunakan analisis deskriptif. AbstractThis dedication activity aims to provide socialization for applying two learning models, namely the course review horay model and the make a match model in mathematics learning.     AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan metode silih tanya berbantuan kartu model dan metode make a match. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 4 Sungguminasa Kab. Gowa berjumlah 351 siswa dan total sampel berjumlah 64 siswa dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes yang terdiri dari pretest dan posttest dan non tes berupa lembar observasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data nilai siswa menggunakan statistik deskriptif rata-rata nilai kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode silih tanya berbantuan kartu model adalah 86,84 dengan kategori sedang dan yang diajar menggunakan metode make a match adalah 77,78 dengan kategori sedang. Berdasarkan analisis statistik inferensial bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan metode silih tanya berbantuan kartu model dengan yang menggunakan metode make a match pada kelas VII SMPN 4 Sungguminasa Kab. Gowa. AbstractThis study aims to determine the mathematical communication ability of students who use card-assisted questions method and make a match method. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all VII grade students of SMPN 4 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency with 351 students and a total sample of 64 students with purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used in this study was a test consisting of pre-test and post-test and non-test that is observation sheet. Based on the data analysis results that average the value of students’ mathematical communication skills who were taught using the card-assisted questions was 86.84 in the medium category and those who taught using make a match method were 77.78 in the medium category. The results of inferential statistical analysis that there is a significant difference between the mathematical communication abilities of students who use card-assisted questions and using the make a match method in class VII of SMPN 4 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency

    Analysis of Da’if & Mawdu’ Hadith in the Book of Ta’lim Al-Muta’allim by Shaykh Al-Zarnuji

    Ta’lim al-Muta’allim’s book by Sheikh al-Zarnuji is a turath book containing ethics and manners of learning and teaching between teachers and students. This book is famous and distributed in the Archipelago especially in Malaysia and Indonesia. It is also widely used in pesantran or pondok nowaday. Sheikh al-Zarnuji used hadiths of prophet Muhammad s.a.w as the main source and hujjah in Ta’lim al-Muta’allim’s book. He also included some other categories of hadith including da’if and mawdu’ hadiths. The issue is Ta’lim al-Muta’llim’s book contains many da’if and mawdu’ hadiths and have been referred by Muslim. This study is very important to understand the method and rule of practicing of da’if and mawdu’ hadiths. Hence, this study aimed to analyse da’if and mawdu’ hadiths contained in Ta’lim al-Muta’llim’s book. The methodology of this hadith is qualitative method by using content analysis approach toward Ta’lim al-Muta’llim’s book. Thus, the finding for the analysis of 40 hadiths in this book found that only 30% hadith can be used for fada’il al-amal if fulfilled the conditions by the ulama’s. Hence, thematic analysis is important to be done in order to ensure the quantity of da’if and mawdu’ hadiths in this book and also to ensure the da’if hadith can be practiced only for fada’il al-amal matter

    Improved thresholding and quantization techniques for image compression

    In recent decades, digital images have become increasingly important. With many modern applications use image graphics extensively, it tends to burden both the storage and transmission process. Despite the technological advances in storage and transmission, the demands placed on storage and bandwidth capacities still exceeded its availability. Moreover, the compression process involves eliminating some data that degrades the image quality. Therefore, to overcome this problem, an improved thresholding and quantization techniques for image compression is proposed. Firstly, the generated wavelet coefficients obtained from the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) process are thresholded by the proposed Standard Deviation-Based Wavelet Coefficients Threshold Estimation Algorithm. The proposed algorithm estimates the best threshold value at each detail subbands. This algorithm exploits the huge number of near-zero coefficients exist in detail subbands. For different images, the distribution of wavelet coefficients at each subband are substantially different. So, by calculating the standard deviation value of each subband, a better threshold value can be obtained. Next, the retained wavelet coefficients are subjected to the next proposed Minimizing Median Quantization Error Algorithm. The proposed algorithm utilizes the high occurrence of zero coefficient obtained by the previous thresholding process by re-allocating the zero and non-zero coefficients in different groups for quantization. Then, quantization error minimization mechanism is employed by calculating the median quantization error at each quantization interval class. The results are then compared to the existing algorithms and it is found that the proposed compression algorithm shows double increase in compression ratio performance, produces higher image quality with PSNR value above 40dB and ensures a better bit saving with smooth control at bit rate higher than 4 bpp. Thus, the proposed algorithm provides an alternative technique to compress the digital image

    Pengembangan Media Ice Breaker Talking Pen pada Mata Pelajaran PAI Kelas X SMAN 100 Jakarta

    This study aims to find out how to develop media ice breaker talking pen and media feasibility on the subjects of PAI. The research method used is Borg and Gall development model which includes requirement analysis, validation test, and test phase. The result of this development research is ice breaker talking pen media product which consists of command card and music developed through data collection, planning, product development, and validation and testing. Based on the validation results obtained the average score of the material experts of 4.75 (very good), and from the media experts of 3.78 (good), and the results of student responses about this media amounted to 4.39 or very good category. Therefore the ice breaker talking media on the eyes of learning PAI class X is declared eligible for use with very good category. Berdasarkan pada hasil validasi didapat skor rata-rata dari ahli materi sebesar 4,75 (sangat baik), dan dari ahli media sebesar 3,78 (baik). Serta hasil dari tanggapan siswa mengenai media ini sebesar 4,39 atau kategori sangat baik. Maka dari itu media ice breaker talking pen pada mata pelajaran PAI kelas X dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan dengan kategori sangat baik.     The Hudaibiyah agreement initiated by the Prophet Muhammad SAW initially marked tolerance in Islam. Tolerance in Islam is authentic, meaning it is not foreign and has even emerged since Islam existed. Because of its unique nature, tolerance in Islam is only a matter of implementation and commitment to practice it consistently. Nor is it for exchanging beliefs among the different religious groups. Tolerance here is in the sense of muammalah (social interaction). So there are common boundaries that may and may not be violated. This is the essence of tolerance, where each party must control themselves and provide space for mutual respect's uniqueness without feeling threatened by their beliefs or rights. Sharia has guaranteed that there is no compulsion in religion. Because forcing other people to follow our religion is a historical attitude which has no basis or example in the early history of Islam. It is precise with this fantastic tolerant attitude that the history of Islamic civilization has produced such brilliance that it is recorded in gold ink by the history of world civilization to this day and God willing in the future.Toleransi dalam islam pada awalnya ditandai oleh perjanjian Hudaibiyah yang diprakarsa oleh Nabi Muahammad SAW. Intoleransi beragama benar-benar telah terjadi di tengah masyarakat dan nilai-nilai toleransi yang telah terjalin selama berabad-abad telah memudar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang berkaitan dengan toleransi. Ayat-ayat tersebut yang berkaitan dengan toleransi akan di analisis dengan pendektan tafsir madhui (tafsir tematik).     Cultivation of sulphate reducing bacteria in different media

    Sulphate - reducing bacteria (SRB) represent themselves as a class of anaerobic bacteria that can reduce sulphate to sulphide for obtaining energy. This paper is aimed to detect sulphate - reducing bacteria activities using rapid detectable culture media. Two different strains of sulphate - reducing bacteria were used in this study, namely ATCC 7757 and local bacterial strain of SRB isolated from underground sample . Both strains were tested on three recommended culture media of modified Baar‟s, Postgate B and Postgate C. All three medium contained lactic acid which served to be as carbon source. The results showed that modified Baar‟s medium is the best medium for the growth of ATCC 7757 while Postgate C medium is recommended for the local SRB bacterial strain

    Control of microbiologically influenced corrosion using ultraviolet radiation

    Baram Delta Operation had been producing oil and gas since 1960’s and serious pipelines failure was reported in the year of 2005. The final investigation has concluded that one of the species of bacteria that has been identified to cause microbiologically influenced corrosion, specifically known as sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) was found to be one of the potential contributing factors to the incidents. This work investigates the potential use of ultraviolet (UV) radiation to inhibit the SRB consortium that was cultivated from the crude oil in one of the main trunk lines at Baram Delta Operation, Sarawak, Malaysia. The impact of UV exposure to bio-corrosion conditions on carbon steel coupon in certain samples for 28 days was discussed in this study. The samples were exposed to UV radiation based on variations of parameters, namely: time of UV exposure; and power of UV lamp. The significant changes on the amount of turbidity reading and metal loss of the steel coupon were recorded before and after experiment. The results showed that SRB growth has reduced rapidly for almost 90% after the UV exposure for both parameters as compared to the abiotic samples. Metal loss values were also decreased in certain exposure condition. Additionally, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) was performed to observe the biofilm layer formed on the metal surface after its exposure to SRB. The evidence suggested that the efficiency of UV treatment against SRB growth could be influenced by the particular factors studied

    Influence of environmental parameters on microbiologically influenced corrosion subject to different bacteria strains

    Microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) is capable on weakening the metal’s strength, eventually leads to pipeline leakage, environmental hazard and financial loss. Sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) is the principal causative organism responsible for external corrosion on steel structures. To date, considerable works have been conducted in Malaysia on the mechanisms of SRB upon MIC on the marine environment instead of underground. Moreover, commercial bacteria strain represents local strain in terms of performance and behavior upon corrosion of steel structure is yet to be proven. Thus, this paper aims to investigate the influence of environmental parameters towards MIC in corroding pipeline. Two types of SRB strain were used designated as SRB ATCC 7757 (commercial) and SRB Sg. Ular (local strain) isolated from Malaysian soil. The behavior of both strains was critically compared by calculating the rate of corrosion upon carbon steel coupons in stipulated environmental parameters. Four influential parameters i.e. pH, temperature, salinity concentration and iron concentration were considered. Collected data presented and analyzed using graphical and statistical analysis, respectively. The results showed the difference of corrosivity between two SRB strains in terms of corrosion behavior upon the X-70 steel coupon. SRB Sg. Ular able to cause severe effects upon steel structure as compared to SRB ATCC 7757 due to its aggressiveness shown by the recorded metal loss data. Thus, future works related to MIC for local environment in particular, should not compromise with the type of SRB strains considered due to differences of performance of the microorganisms onto tested environment and materials
