A análise
ETSI MANO network orchestration
In the modern era there is a big change in the way computer networks are conceived and the old version defined by hardware implementation is leaving space for a new one based upon software functions. This innovation is the Network Function Virtualization and indeed aims at easing the management of networks and reducing the costs of their maintenance by deploying Virtual Network Functions in standard general purpose servers.
The transition to this solution involved the necessity to improve the performance of virtualization techniques and with the development of new solutions now it is possible to run multiple different functions in the same physical machine. This means that also the cloud computing benefits from this technology, having computing, storaging and networking resources all easily manageable and accessible due to their separation from the hardware underneath.
Therefore it is important that while building this architecture the components are properly working and interacting together and that the virtualization techniques do not produce too much overhead compared to the performance of the hardware implementation.
In this essay will be discussed the Network Function Virtualization and the Open Source MANO project, focusing on its descriptors architecture and functioning. To better demonstrate how to create network topologies through these files, some examples are created and analyzed
In the 1960s and 1970s, Portugal witnessed a cycle of political radicalisation on the right and left, in the context of the crisis and fall of the authoritarian Salazarist regime, and the transition to democracy after the military coup of 1974. For the right wing, radicalisation was led by young university students inspired by the Portuguese nationalism of the first half of the 20th century, but also by foreign doctrines from the inter-war period, and by the neo-fascist subculture immediately after the second world war. This article explores the mobilisation of this radical subculture, with its links to the Estado Novo and the European far right, through a bibliographical appreciation of one of its best-known leaders, nationally and internationally: Zarco Moniz Ferreira. From his career as a political activist, between the end of authoritarianism and the democratic transition, a faithful picture emerges of the characteristics, dynamics, successes and failures of the mobilisation of the far-right in those troubled years of recent Portuguese history. Bianchi I model as a prototype for a cyclical Universe
We analyze the dynamics of the Bianchi I model in the presence of stiff
matter, an ultrarelativistic component and a small negative cosmological
constant. We quantize this model in the framework of the polymer quantum
mechanics, in order to introduce cut-off features in the minisuperspace
dynamics.
We then apply to the polymer Wheeler-DeWitt equation, emerging from the Dirac
constraint, an adiabatic approximation a la Vilenkin, which treats the Universe
volume as a quasi-classical variable, becoming de facto the dynamical clock for
the pure quantum degrees of freedom, here identified in the Universe
anisotropies.
The main issue of the present analysis consists of determining a cyclical
evolution for the Bianchi I model, oscillating between the Big-Bounce induced
by the cut-off physics and the turning point due to the small cosmological
constant. Furthermore, the mean value of the Universe anisotropy variables
remains finite during the whole evolution, including the phase across the
Big-Bounce. Such a feature, according to a suitable choice of the initial
conditions makes the present cosmological paradigm, a viable scenario for the
description of a possible primordial and late phases of the actual Universe.Comment: 12 pages, 6 figure
In the early years of Portuguese transition, many right-wing players aimed at influencing the new course of national politics, either by entering the system through institutionalized parties or harassing it through subversive action. The successive setbacks propelled these players to a growing radicalization and illegal action. The article reconstructs the political geography of these forces that were stationed or positioned on the far right of the political spectrum and analyzes its objectives, strategies and successes, from April 25, 1974, through gonçalvismo and ending with the normalization post-November 25, 1975
The other side of protest music: the extreme-right and skinhead culture in democratic Portugal (1974-2015)
Abstract
Although Portugal does not have a significant radical right presence in its party system, in
the last decades the country did witness the development of a neo-Nazi skinhead
movement that expressed its white nationalist nature and goals through the musical
genres of Rock Against Communism (RAC) and the related Oi!. Utilizing various historical
sources, this study contextualizes the development of nationalist music in Portugal, both
before and especially during the democratic period (1974-2015). It focuses on its
protagonists, domestic and international networks, as well as on the few attempts to
establish a common cause with radical right-wing political parties at the turn of the
century and in present times
