    Get PDF
O interesse ? dar visibilidade as minorias e colocar o espectador no centro da quest?o.The extension program ?Urbanidades: Interven??es? was born in 2012 at the Drama Course of the Universidade Federal de S?o Jo?o del-Rei (UFSJ), in Minas Gerais. The program started from the daily reality of the city?s residents to create a repertoire of materials. This extension program works in partnership with the research group ?Transeuntes ? Estudos sobre performance?. Such a group investigates modes of interference of the bodies of the performers in the daily life of the neighborhoods of the city, formulating different exchanges of materialities with the passerby spectator. In this way, the formation of the program in question is intrinsically linked to the systematization of contemporary artistic knowledge and its applicability in dialogue with the surrounding community. The street as a democratic space of use is one of the mottos of the project. The urban environment encompasses people from all walks of life and when there is a presentation, demonstration, scene, exercise, passers-by can feel themselves to belong to the theater. This type of theater is made for those who are going to work, returning from a lunch, taking children in school or with more time to stop and connect to the event. Everyone can participate in a piece of the staging. In addition to access democracy for any individual on the street, the group is concerned with putting political issues that are always controversial in our society. The interest is to give visibility to minorities and put the viewer at the center of the issue

Given Uruguay’s energetic situation, where its main energy sources are from hydroelectric and thermal power from fossil fuels, it is important to consider other energy sources such as Energy from Waste. Waste to Energy (WTE) or Energy from Waste is a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management system, which results in an appropriate and sustainable use of the waste which cannot be efficiently recycled or reused. This articleoverviews the different WTE alternatives and proposes a concrete small-scale application for the city of Paysandú.

Inquietações artísticas e pedagógicas no Teatro Lambe-Lambe

The acknowledgment of social media as a strategy in health education is essential, providing benefits to health promotion and the prevention and treatment of comorbidities. This study assessed the contribution of WhatsApp use on the prognosis of medical conditions and its impact on enhancing the quality of life. The review protocol used PubMed and Web of Science as databases, followed PRISMA-E 2012 guidelines, was registered in PROSPERO (Nº2021232688), and its risk of bias was analyzed Cochrane Collaboration\u27s tool for assessing the risk of bias. Thirteen impact studies (n = 1653 participants) were selected and showed evidence on metabolic parameters such as reducing blood pressure (7.6%); body mass index-BMI (7.6%); glycated haemoglobin-HbA1c (15.4%); resting heart rate (7.6%); increase in static balance increase on balance (7.6%) and reduced body weight (7.6%). Furthermore, specific findings on each intervention were demonstrated, such as diminished rates of relapse in substance users (7.6%); increased populational knowledge on chronic diseases (23%) associated with a decrease in the potential complications (7.6%), and a rise on treatment adhesion (7.6%); impact on the follow-up of pregnant patients (7.6%) and progress on oral hygiene (15.4%). Therefore, it was concluded that this intervention strategy demonstrated significant magnitude in reducing the progression and complication of the assessed disorders

Miltefosine and Benznidazole Combination Improve Anti-Trypanosoma cruzi In Vitro and In Vivo Efficacy

Drug repurposing and combination therapy have been proposed as cost-effective strategies to improve Chagas disease treatment. Miltefosine (MLT), a synthetic alkylphospholipid initially developed for breast cancer and repositioned for leishmaniasis, is a promising candidate against Trypanosoma cruzi infection. This study evaluates the efficacy of MLT as a monodrug and combined with benznidazole (BZ) in both in vitro and in vivo models of infection with T. cruzi (VD strain, DTU TcVI). MLT exhibited in vitro activity on amastigotes and trypomastigotes with values of IC50 = 0.51 µM (0.48 µM; 0,55 µM) and LC50 = 31.17 µM (29.56 µM; 32.87 µM), respectively. Drug interaction was studied with the fixed-ration method. The sum of the fractional inhibitory concentrations (ΣFICs) resulted in ∑FIC= 0.45 for trypomastigotes and ∑FIC= 0.71 for amastigotes, suggesting in vitro synergistic and additive effects, respectively. No cytotoxic effects on host cells were observed. MLT efficacy was also evaluated in a murine model of acute infection alone or combined with BZ. Treatment was well tolerated with few adverse effects, and all treated animals displayed significantly lower mean peak parasitemia and mortality than infected non-treated controls (p<0.05). The in vivo studies showed that MLT led to a dose-dependent parasitostatic effect as monotherapy which could be improved by combining with BZ, preventing parasitemia rebound after a stringent immunosuppression protocol. These results support MLT activity in clinically relevant stages from T. cruzi, and it is the first report of positive interaction with BZ, providing further support for evaluating combined schemes using MLT and exploring synthetic alkylphospholipids as drug candidates.Fil: Gulin, Julián Ernesto Nicolás.
