Silver and silver chloride nanoparticles and their anti-tick activity: a mini review

    Get PDF
This overview highlights the importance of characterization of biogenic nanoparticles of silver and silver chloride in order to understand the action on ticks or pathogens transmitted by them. These nanoparticles appear as important active principles in this area. They can act against ticks or against major pathogens transmitted by the bite of ticks such as bacteria, viruses or protozoa with equal or better efficacy of antibiotics, antiviral or antiparasitic agents. Anti-tick activities on Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, Hyalomma anatolicum, Hyalomma isaaci and Haemaphysalis bispinosa are discussed. Perspectives of these nanoparticles acting on bacteria, viruses and protozoa infections are also discussed. This overview highlights the importance of characterization of biogenic nanoparticles of silver and silver chloride in order to understand the action on ticks or pathogens transmitted by them. Nanobiotechnology solutions against aedes aegypti

United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)/United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)/World Bank/World Health Organization (WHO) implemented the Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR) program with excellent results; however, due to current challenges, this active program requires new and innovative solutions. Nowadays, Aedes aegyptis-borne diseases can be added among neglected diseases. Surveillance and control must be considered owing to a great risk of infection with dengue, chikungunya and zika viruses. Although investigations on several vaccines are in progress, new insights in term of development of drugs that evade from resistance are of paramount importance. Nanobiotechnology appears as one of the most innovative strategy in the search of new uses for old pharmaceuticals or in the development of innovative and intelligent nanomedicines for neglected diseases. Liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles, nanoemulsions, polymeric nanoparticles, metallic nanoparticles, quantum dots, carbon dots and carbon nanotubes were the focus of the current advances. In this direction, we have focused this overview on new advances in diagnostic assays as nanobiosensors, antivirus and nanoinsecticides on Aedes aegyptis control27711391149CONSELHO NACIONAL DE DESENVOLVIMENTO CIENTÍFICO E TECNOLÓGICO - CNPQFUNDAÇÃO DE AMPARO À PESQUISA DO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO - FAPESPSem informaçãoSem informaçã

On the existence of bounded solutions for a nonlinear elliptic system

    Get PDF
This work deals with the system (−Δ)mu = a(x) vp, (−Δ)mv = b(x) uq with Dirichlet boundary condition in a domain Ω⊂Rn , where Ω is a ball if n ≥ 3 or a smooth perturbation of a ball when n = 2. We prove that, under appropriate conditions on the parameters (a, b, p, q, m, n), any nonnegative solution (u, v) of the system is bounded by a constant independent of (u, v). Moreover, we prove that the conditions are sharp in the sense that, up to some border case, the relation on the parameters are also necessary. The case m = 1 was considered by Souplet (Nonlinear Partial Differ Equ Appl 20:464–479, 2004). Our paper generalize to m ≥ 1 the results of that paper.Facultad de Ciencias ExactasConsejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnica

Este ensayo está orientado en proporcionar al lector un conocimiento puntual, referente al tema de la aplicación de la retención transitoria como medio de protección de los derechos fundamentales, su aplicación en el ejercicio de la actividad de Policía y la inviabilidad jurídica para que las asambleas departamental o los concejos municipales mediante la expedición de ordenanzas y acuerdos que reglamentan la aplicación de esta medida correctiva, utilizando para el desarrollo del tema el método de tipo descriptivo, en donde se analizaron la normatividad y las posturas jurisprudenciales que existen al respecto, evidenciando que estos organismos no son los competentes para limitar o restringir derechos fundamentales; sin embargo su indebida aplicación por el órgano colegiado o la Policía Nacional genera responsabilidad administrativa.POLICÍA NACIONALThis paper is aimed to provide the reader with a detailed knowledge concerning the subject of the application for transitional retention as a means of protection of fundamental rights application in the exercise of police activity and legal impossibility for the departmental assemblies or municipal councils by issuing ordinances and agreements regulating the application of this remedy, used for the development of the subject method descriptive, where regulations and jurisprudential positions that exist in this regard were analyzed, showing that these agencies are not competent to limit or restrict fundamental rights; but its misapplication by the College or the National Police generates administrative responsibility

Systematic Review And Meta-analysis Of Target Terapies For The Treatment Of Metastatic Renal Cancer.

At present there are several drugs for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (ARCC). The main objective of this work was to perform a systematic review (SR) and meta-analysis (MA) of clinical randomized studies that compared target cell therapies (TCT). SR identified clinical randomized trials that compared TCT versus interferon-alpha in the treatment of patients with ARCC. In order to analyze efficiency, it was evaluated free-survival progression (FSP), total survival (TS) and response rate (RR). In relation to first line treatment, seven studies of TCT were identified using sunitinib, sorafenib, bevacizumab and temsirolimus; and two studies with sorafenib and everolimus for second line treatment. Relative risk (RRi) of MA for FSP of first line therapies was: 0.83, CI = 0.78-0.87, I2 = 94% and p < 0.00001. Best results of RR of specific FSP among studies were: 0.38, sunitinib, CI = 0.25-0.58, bevacizumab, 0.62, CI = 0.47-0.83; and temsirolimus, 0.78, CI = 0.70-0.87. MA didn't show any benefit regarding TS of first line treatment of all analyzed drugs. As for RR significant results were: sunitinib, 3.83 CI = 2.86-5.12; bevacizumab, 2.52 CI = 1.78-3.57 and bevacizumab, 1.97 CI = 1.43-2.71. For first line treatment, sunitinib was the most effective TCT in relation to FPS; there was no alteration of TS and RR was small but significant for sunitinib and bevacizumab. Available studies could not conclude any results for second line treatments.39768-7
