Many individual and social factors influence the appearance and persistence of acts of delinquency. Several clusters of factors concerning delinquency in general and recidivism in particular have thus been identified: criminal history, psychological, psychiatric and somatic diagnoses, socio-demographic characteristics, family situation and dynamics and the influence of social groups. The objective of this study is to identify the factors behind the recidivism of minors detained in the Special Quarter for Minors of the Daloa House of Arrest and Correction during detention. It is based on quantitative and qualitative data collected on the basis of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The results revealed that the recidivism of incarcerated minors is linked to different cognitive and psycho-sociological factors due to the poor quality of institutional care. This study makes it possible to scientifically understand that the treatment of minors detained by the justice of youth protection in Daloa, has the difficulty of finding appropriate strategies and in line with the realities of adolescents on the margins of society

The purpose of the present work was to identify the explanatory factors of drug use among young migrants in the Upper Sassandra region, particularly in Daloa. It combined a mixed approach using a questionnaire and interview guide to collect data from all stakeholders involved in the relationship between young migrant status and drug use. In this perspective, young migrants as well as institutional and community actors were interviewed the geographical field of the sub-districts of the city of Daloa which is presented by several works as a hub of immigration. The working hypothesis that the practice of drug use among young migrants in Daloa is determined by factors related to social, psychological and financial vulnerability related to this status is validated in this work

The toxic effects of alcohol on the brain can be demonstrated by medical imaging. Thus, a decrease in gray matter has been observed in alcohol-dependent people. The earlier alcohol consumption begins, the greater the impairment of gray matter. In CĂ´te d'Ivoire, previous work indicates the presence of disturbances in selective attention and working memory in non-alcohol-dependent adolescents and young adults, but regular consumers of koutoukou (local brandy made artisanal, made from oil palm sap ĚŹ Elaeis guineensis Jacq.Ě‹). This study aims to study the effects of alcohol on the attentional faculties of alcohol-dependent patients. To this end, a neuropsychological test was used to compare the performance of patients before and after treatment (withdrawal). It appears that alcohol significantly alters selective attention in alcohol-dependent people. However, it was observed after treatment (withdrawal), a gradual recovery of these cognitive functions
