Origin of the Genetic Introgression in Spanish red-legged partridge with chukar partridge

La producción natural de perdiz roja en España no satisface la demanda cinegética, por ello se realizan rutinariamente repoblaciones con perdices criadas en granjas. En ocasiones, se han introducido fraudulentamente especímenes foráneos, sobre todo de perdiz turca, que puede hibridar con la roja, produciéndose un fenómeno de introgresión genética. En este trabajo se analizan secuencias de DNA mitocondrial de perdices híbridas recogidas en granjas y en cotos de localidades repartidas por la geografía española y se comparan con secuencias de perdiz turca de múltiples orígenes. Los resultados corroboran la procedencia oriental detectada previamente e indican que todas las secuencias de perdiz turca dispersas en la geografía española tienen un origen muy restringido.The natural production of red-legged partridge in Spain does not meet hunting demand, so stocking with fowl-run reared partridges is routinely performed. Sometimes, specimens of foreign origin, especially the chukar partridge have been fraudulently introduced. Chukar partridge can hybridize with the red-legged partridge, resulting in genetic introgression. In this paper, mitochondrial DNA sequences of partridges collected in fowl-runs and hunting areas throughout the Spanish geography are compared with sequences of chukar partridge from multiple sources. A Morphological and Morphometric Dental Analysis as a Forensic Tool to Identify the Iberian Wolf (Canis Lupus Signatus)

Depredation by the Iberian wolf (Canis lupus signatus) is currently thought to be a problem in some areas of Spain. However, there are few technically validated forensic tools available to determine the veracity of claims with a high degree of scientific confidence, which is important given that such attacks may lead to compensation. The analysis of bite marks on attacked animals could provide scientific evidence to help identify the offender. Thus, the aim of this study was to assess the morphological and morphometric characteristics of Iberian wolf dentition. This data collection would serve as a base-point for a more accurate identification of the wolves thorough their bite marks. For the first time, 36 dental variables have been studied in wolves' skulls, employing univariate and multivariate analyses. The general morphological dental characteristics of wolves are very similar in terms of their dental formula and tooth structure to other canids, like domestic dogs. Sex differentiation was evident, principally in terms of the maxillary distance between the palatal surfaces of the canine teeth (UbC) and the width of the left mandibular canine teeth (LlCWd). New morphometric reference information was obtained that can aid the forensic identification of bite marks caused by the Iberian wolf with greater confidence

En Colombia la violencia es una problemática que en aspectos generales ha sido igualitaria en sus consecuencias, donde se ha evidenciado pobreza, desigualdad, muertes y desplazamiento, en este documento, se encontrara un recorrido de relatos y narrativas de la violencia desde diferentes zonas del territorio, donde se han generado historias y grandes problemáticas sociales que vulneraron derechos humanos, o que incluso aún se están presentando estas secuelas biopsicosocioculturales, por las cuales, se presentan a raíz de la visualización de diferentes videos estrategias de carácter psicosocial desde los conocimientos adquiridos en el programa formativo, además, siendo estos desarrollados con el fin de brindar atención a la comunidad vulnerable del Salado procurando incurrir en una acción sin daño. El presente trabajo plantea estudiar el impacto de la experiencia de acontecimientos vitales estresantes y las manifestaciones clínicas de la población de adolescentes y jóvenes atendida en los Servicios de Salud Mental de Parla (Madrid, Área 10). Explorar cuáles son las variables de personalidad que determinan una respuesta diferencial ante los acontecimientos vitales estresantes, nos ayuda a comprender mejor los factores que hacen que los adolescentes resistan las adversidades de la vida, cuáles son los déficits de aquellos que sucumben y qué factores han de ponerse en marcha para lograr intervenciones eficaces

Needs of patients with multi-morbidity and heart failure for the development of a mHealth to improve their self-management: A qualitative analysis

Objective: To provide practical information regarding needs, preferences of content and format of an app to assist the self-management in patients with multi-morbidity and heart failure (HF). Methods: The three-phase study was conducted in Spain. Six integrative reviews, a qualitative methodology based on Van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenology through semi-structured interviews and user stories were used. Data collection continued until data saturation was reached. All data were transcribed verbatim and analysed using a framework approach. Thematic analysis technique following the methods of Braun and Clarke was used for emerging themes. Results: Integrative reviews conducted included practical recommendations to include in the content and format of the App and helped create the interview guide. Interviews revealed 15 subthemes that captured the meaning of narratives offering contextual insights into the development of the App. The main effective mechanisms of multicomponent interventions for patients with HF must contain (a) components that increase the patient's understanding of HF, (b) self-care, (c) self-efficacy and participation of the family/informal caregiver, (4) psychosocial well-being and (5) professional support and use of technology. User stories revealed that patients prioritized improvements in direct contact with health services in case of emergency (90%), nutritional information (70%), type of exercises in order to improve their physical condition (75%) and information about food and drug interaction (60%). The importance of motivation messages (60%) was highlighted by transversal way. Conclusions: The three-phase process integrating theoretical basis, evidence from integrative reviews and research findings from target users has been considered a guide for future app development17 página
