Certain triple q-integral equations involving third Jackson -Bessel functions as kernel
In this paper, we employ the fractional -calculus in solving a triple
system of -Integral equations, where the kernel is the third Jackson
-Bessel functions. The solution is reduced to two simultaneous Fredholm
-integral equation of the second kind. Examples are included. We also apply
a result in~[Pacific J. Math. \textbf{275}(1) (2015)63--102] for solutions of

A determinant approach for generalized -Bernoulli polynomials and asymptotic results
In earlier work, we introduced three families of polynomials where the
generating function of each set includes one of the three Jackson -analogs
of the Bessel function. This paper gives determinant representation for each
family, their large asymptotics, and two expansion theorems for specific

Development and properties of polymeric nanocomposite coatings
Polymeric-based nanocomposite coatings were synthesized by reinforcing epoxy matrix with titanium nanotubes (TNTs) loaded with dodecylamine (DOC). The performance of the developed nanocomposite coatings was investigated in corrosive environments to evaluate their anti-corrosion properties. The SEM/TEM, TGA, and FTIR analysis confirm the loading of the DOC into the TNTs. The UV-Vis spectroscopic analysis confirms the self-release of the inhibitor (DOC) in response to the pH change. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopic (EIS) analysis indicates that the synthesized nanocomposite coatings demonstrate superior anticorrosion properties at pH 2 as compared to pH 5. The improved anticorrosion properties of nanocomposite coatings at pH 2 can be attributed to the more effective release of the DOC from the nanocontainers. Association between dietary intake and seasonal variations in postmenopausal women
Background: Evidence supports that increasing number of postmenopausal women are suffering from one or more chronic diseases. Dietary patterns have a pivotal role in maintaining human health. The aim of this study was to characterize the nutrients and energy intake in postmenopausal women, with the special focus on seasonal variation effect in their food intake.Methods: The study population consisted of 30 postmenopausal women referred to Dr. Shariati Hospital, Tehran (Iran). Socio-demographic characteristics and BMI were registered. Dietary assessment was performed by a 3 day food records in each season through one year, allowing the estimation of energy, protein, carbohydrate, total fat, monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA), polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and saturated fatty acids (SFA) intake. The mean of nutrient intake in each season was adjusted for energy intake. The effect of season on energy and nutrients intake was assessed based on the General linear model (GLM).Results: The mean of daily intake of vitamin C, B, B2, B12, iron, zinc, phosphorus and chromium was significantly higher than Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDAs ) (p < 0.05). The mean of vitamin D, E, B6, B5, folate, calcium, magnesium, potassium and selenium consumption was significantly less than RDAs (p < 0.05). All the participants meet the goal for vitamins A, K and B3 from food. The mean of energy intake was not different between seasons. However, the mean intake of fat, vitamin C, vitamin K and folate was significantly different between seasons.Conclusion: These findings highlight some nutrients deficiency in postmenopausal women and therefore suggest nutritional education with emphasis on seasonal variation effect. © 2014 Mansour et al.; licensee BioMed Central Ltd

Spurious diffusion in particle simulations of the Kolmogorov flow
Particle simulations of the Kolmogorov flow are analyzed by the
Landau-Lifshitz fluctuating hydrodynamics. It is shown that a spurious
diffusion of the center of mass corrupts the statistical properties of the
flow. The analytical expression for the corresponding diffusion coefficient is

Assessing the Responsiveness of the Persian Version of the Western Ontario Meniscal Evaluation Tool in Patients with Meniscus Injuries
Background and Objective: Responsiveness is one of the important properties of health-related questionnaires in demonstrating the changes in a patient's clinical conditions before and after therapy. The present study was carried out with the aim of assessing the responsiveness of the Western Ontario Meniscal Evaluation Tool (WOMET) and determining its minimal clinically important difference in patients undergoing physical therapy interventions after meniscus injuries.
Methods: This cross-sectional methodological study was performed on 100 patients aged 18-70 years with meniscus injuries who underwent physical therapy interventions. Patients completed WOMET and Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) questionnaires in the first and tenth sessions. The minimum score obtained from the WOMET questionnaire was zero and the maximum was 1600, and the minimum score obtained from the KOOS questionnaire was zero and the maximum was 168. Internal and external responsiveness were the primary outcomes, and effect size tests, ROC curves, and correlation coefficients were used to examine them. The relationship between the WOMET and KOOS questionnaires were considered as secondary outcomes, which were evaluated by calculating the correlation coefficient.
Findings: The results of internal responsiveness showed that the standardized response mean for the entire WOMET questionnaire was 0.11 (insignificant) and Cohen's d score for the entire WOMET questionnaire was -1.586 (large). The difference in the mean internal responsiveness between recovered (20%) and unrecovered (80%) patients reached a significant level (p<0.001). This questionnaire had an acceptable external responsiveness; the area under the curve of the ROC curve was greater and equal to 0.7 and the optimal cut-off point was 20.031 (p<0.001). The Pearson correlation coefficient between WOMET and KOOS questionnaires (except the emotions subscale) was moderate to large (0.5-0.8) with p<0.001.
Conclusion: The findings of the study showed that the Persian version of the WOMET questionnaire has a high level of responsiveness and is a suitable tool for evaluating the quality of life among patients suffering from meniscus injury
Effects of new physics in neutrino oscillations in matter
A new flavor changing electron neutrino interaction with matter would always
dominate the nu_e oscillation probability at sufficiently high neutrino
energies. Being suppressed by theta_{13}, the energy scale at which the new
effect starts to be relevant may be within the reach of realistic experiments,
where the peculiar dependence of the signal with energy could give rise to a
clear signature in the nu_e --> nu_tau channel. The latter could be observed by
means of a coarse large magnetized detector by exploiting tau --> mu decays. We
discuss the possibility of identifying or constraining such effects with a high
energy neutrino factory. We also comment on the model independent limits on

Evaluation of the Anti-lipidemic Effect of Polyoxyethylenated Cholesterol on Rats Fed High Fat Diet
Abstract: Epidemiological and experimental studies have suggested that a high-fat diet might induce oxidative stress or lipid oxidation and subsequently contribute to the high risk of some diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular ones. The objective of this study was to evaluate the hypolipidemic activity of polyoxyethylenated cholesterol (PEO-Chol) in rats fed high fat diet. Rats were grouped as: group 1-control, group 2-treated with PEO-Chol, group 3-fed on high fat diet for 21 days, group 4-treated with PEO-Chol simultaneously with high fat diet and group 5-rats were treated with PEO-Chol after 7 days of high fat feeding. Plasma glucose and lipid profile including total cholesterol (Chol), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), total lipid (TL), and phospholipid (PL) were estimated in both plasma and liver tissue. Lipid peroxidation was measured as malonaldialdhyde (MDA) in both plasma and liver tissue. Plasma and liver fatty acids were evaluated. Histopathological studies on liver tissue were also performed. The results showed that PEO-Chol supplementation ameliorated significantly the disturbances in plasma glucose, lipid profile and fatty acids. PEO-Chol modulated the MDA levels in both liver tissue and plasma. Also, results of the histopathological investigation for liver tissue showed some normalization. It can be concluded from these results that PEOChol may be a contributing factor in the scavenging of free radicals in hyperlipidemic rats and might exert a beneficial role against some metabolic disorders
