Structure and properties of neutron stars in the Relativistic Mean - Field Theory
Properties of rotating neutron stars with the use of relativistic mean-field
theory are considered. The performed analysis of neutron star matter is based
on the nonlinear Lgrangian density. The presence of nonlinear interaction of
vector mesons modifies the density dependence of the rho field and influences
bulk parameters of neutron stars. The observed quasi-periodic X-ray
oscillations of low mass X-ray binaries can be used in order to constrain the
equation of state of neutron star matter. Having assumed that the maximum
frequency of the quasi periodic oscillations originates at the circular orbit
it is possible to estimate masses and radii of neutron stars.Comment: 18 pages, latex2e, 10 colour eps figures, submitted to International

A Review of the Epidemiology, Pathophysiology, and Efficacy of Anti-diabetic Drugs Used in the Treatment of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
In recent years, epidemiological studies have consistently demonstrated that the coexistence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is strongly associated with increased mortality and morbidity related to hepatic- and extrahepatic causes. Indeed, compared with the general population, patients with T2DM are more likely to be diagnosed with more severe forms of NAFLD (i.e., nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) with liver fibrosis). There is an ongoing debate whether NALFD is a consequence of diabetes or whether NAFLD is simply a component and manifestation of the metabolic syndrome, since liver fat (steatosis) and even more advanced stages of liver fibrosis can occur in the absence of diabetes. Nevertheless, insulin resistance is a key component of the mechanism of NAFLD development; furthermore, therapies that lower blood glucose concentrations also appear to be effective in the treatment of NAFLD. Here, we will discuss the pathophysiological and epidemiological associations between NAFLD and T2DM. We will also review currently available anti-diabetic agents with their regard to their efficacy of NAFLD/NASH treatment.Open Access funding enabled and organized by Projekt DEA
The nucleon and mesons effective masses in the Relativistic Mean-Field Theory
Nucleon and meson effective masses in the nonlinear Relativistic Mean - Field
Theory (RMF) introducing a nonlinear omega - rho and sigma coupling motivated
by the Quark Meson Coupling model (QMC) is explored. It is shown that, in
contrast to the usual Walecka model, not only the effective nucleon mass
m_{eff,N} but also the effective sigma, rho meson masses (m_{eff, sigma},
m_{eff, rho}) and the effective omega meson mass m_{eff, omega} are nucleon

The extended, relativistic hyperon star model
In this paper an equation of state of neutron star matter which includes
strange baryons in the framework of Zimanyi and Moszkowski (ZM) model has been
obtained. We concentrate on the effects of the isospin dependence of the
equation of state constructing for the appropriate choices of parameters the
hyperons star model. Numerous neutron star models show that the appearance of
hyperons is connected with the increasing density in neutron star interiors.
Various studies have indicated that the inclusion of delta meson mainly affects
the symmetry energy and through this the chemical composition of a neutron
star. As the effective nucleon mass contributes to hadron chemical potentials
it alters the chemical composition of the star. In the result the obtained
model of the star not only excludes large population of hadrons but also does

Cavity implementation of quantum interference in a -type atom
A scheme for engineering quantum interference in a -type atom
coupled to a frequency-tunable, single-mode cavity field with a pre-selected
polarization at finite temperature is proposed. Interference-assisted
population trapping, population inversions and probe gain at one sideband of
the Autler-Townes spectrum are predicted for certain cavity resonant

Narrow Spectral Feature In Resonance Fluorescence With A Single Monochromatic Laser Field
We describe the resonance fluorescence spectrum of an atomic three-level
system where two of the states are coupled by a single monochromatic laser
field. The influence of the third energy level, which interacts with the two
laser-coupled states only via radiative decays, is studied in detail. For a
suitable choice of parameters, this system gives rise to a very narrow
structure at the laser frequency in the fluorescence spectrum which is not
present in the spectrum of a two-level atom. We find those parameter ranges by
a numerical analysis and use the results to derive analytical expressions for
the additional narrow peak. We also derive an exact expression for the peak
intensity under the assumption that a random telegraph model is applicable to
the system. This model and a simple spring model are then used to describe the
physical origins of the additional peak. Using these results, we explain the
connection between our system, a three-level system in V-configuration where
both transitions are laser driven, and a related experiment which was recently

Vacuum structure for expanding geometry
We consider gravitational wave modes in the FRW metrics in a de Sitter phase
and show that the state space splits into many unitarily inequivalent
representations of the canonical commutation relations. Non-unitary time
evolution is described as a trajectory in the space of the representations. The
generator of time evolution is related to the entropy operator. The
thermodynamic arrow of time is shown to point in the same direction of the
cosmological arrow of time. The vacuum is a two-mode SU(1,1) squeezed state of
thermo field dynamics. The link between expanding geometry, squeezing and
