Overview on University Third Mission Assessment. Case Study in Romania

    Get PDF
This workpaper is focused on the evaluation of university engagement in innovation (the third mission of university), and aims to establish the main directions for improving the current systems used to evaluate this function in Romanian Higher Education. In the first part of the paper a general overview on models and indicators for evaluation of university third mission is presented. The second part briefly describes how university participation in innovation is assessed in Romania. Final conclusions summarize the previous analysis, and point out some recommendations of improvement

Design and modelling a mini-system with Piezoelectric actuation.

    No full text
International audienceIn this paper a new mini-system with piezoelectric actuation is presented. The piezoelectric actuation principle it is described and also an original mini-system is designed and analyzed. An experimental prototype of the compliant mini-mechanism is developed, in compact design, which amplifies the input displacement, with facile connection with the piezoelectric actuator. The piezoelectric actuator is commanded with different frequencies impulse signals

Research concerning the Ramp and Sinusoidal Command Signals of the Piezoelectric Miniactuators.

    No full text
International audienceIn this paper is presented a mini-system with compliant minigripper and piezoelectric actuation. The piezoelectric actuator is controlled with ramp and sinus signals. The response of the mini-system is predicted by the finite elements method. The displacement of the compliant minigripper and piezoactuator are analyzed. In the end is presented a comparison of the experimental results for same actuator but for two different types of the signals with theoretical results

Valoración de OHL para inversión en cartera

    Get PDF

MODELS AND TOOLS FOR A QUALITY APPROACH IN THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

    Get PDF
This paper focuses on the quality approach in the public administration (PA) in the EU. The first section presents theoretical considerations on the modern approach to quality applicable in all areas of activity, including PA. The next two sections contain: an overview of the policy and models on quality in PA promoted in the EU; the main measurement instruments and statistical data on the quality of government in the EU. The purpose of the study is to systematize information on the quality approach in the PA at EU level, which will help academics, researchers and decision-makers better understand the quality models and tools currently used, and identify ways to improve them

Magnetostrictive and elastic properties of Fe100−xMox (2

In this paper we investigate the magnetostrictive [(3/2)λ100 and (3/2)λ111] and elastic (c′and c44) behavior of single crystalline alloys Fe100−xMox for 21 and −b2) are computed from the measurements. Similar to other Fe–X (X = Al, Ga, and Ge) alloys, the tetragonal magnetostriction (3/2)λ100 increases monotonically from ∼ 70×10−6 at ∼ 2.5 at. % Mo to a maximum of either ∼ 100×10−6 at ∼ 8 at. % Mo for the slow cooled crystals or ∼ 125×10−6 at ∼ 11 at. % Mo for quenched crystals. A sharp decrease after the peak is observed for the slow cooled crystals due to the formation of a second phase. The rhombohedral magnetostriction (3/2)λ111 of the Fe–Mo alloys is found to be insensitive to the Mo content. This behavior is distinctly different from other Fe–X (X = Al, Ga, and Ge) alloys where a slight decrease in magnitude and a sign reversal upon chemical ordering was observed for (3/2)λ111. Both shear elastic constants (c′ and c44) for Fe–Mo are remarkably insensitive to the Mo content, which is also distinct from the other Fe-based alloys used in the comparison. The two magnetoelastic coupling constants −b1 = 3λ100c′ (with values from 7.15 to 9.77 MJ/m3) and −b2 = 3λ111c44 (with values from −4.96 to −5.81 MJ/m3) were calculated and compared with those of other Fe–X (X = Al, Ga, and Ge) alloys

Numerical simulation of the flow around kayak hull

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study was to determine the total resistance and investigate the flow around a full-scale kayak. Utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD), it was deter-mined how the presence of a rudder affects the kayak hydrodynamic performance. To an-alyse the flow, computational fluid dynamics based on the RANS-VOF solver was em-ployed. The fluid volume approach and the k-ω turbulence model were used in two-phase steady flow simulations around the kayak hulls
