The Effects of Herbs on Milk Yield and Milk Quality of Mastitis Dairy Cow

This experiment aimed to observe the effect of herbs (Black Cumin,Curcuma zeodharia,Curcumamangga, and Curcuma aeruginosa) supplementation on milk yield and milk quality (milk fat, milkprotein, milk lactosa and mastitis status) in lactating dairy cows suffering mastitis. Twenty cows in 2nd-4th lactation suspected mastitis subclinical (++) were used in the experiment. Completely randomizeddesign was used in this experiment with 5 treatments (A. Non Herb; B. Black Cumin; C. Curcumazeodharia; D. Curcuma mangga, and E. Curcuma aeruginosa) with four replicates per treatment. Thecollected data were analyzed by analysis of variance and difference between the treatment effects wastested by using Duncan\u27s Multiple Range Test. The results showed that supplementation of herbssignificantly increased (P<0.01) milk yield, milk protein, milk lactosa and significantly decreasedmastitis status and did not significant affect milk fat

The objective of the research was to find out the effect of Curcumma, Zn-proteinate, and Cu-proteinate supplementation on subclinical mastitis status in term of 4% FCM milk production. The research was conducted using 24 heads of lactating dairy cows in Randomized Block Design with six treatments, and four groups of milk production as replication i.e. I=  >14 kg/day ; II= 12-13.99 kg/day ; III= 10-11.99 kg/day;  IV= <10 kg/day.  Treatments were:  R1 (Control); R2 (R1 + 2% Zn proteinate); R3(R1 + 2% Cu-proteinate); R4(R1 + 2% Curcumma); R5(R1 + 2% Zn-proteinate + 2% Cu-proteinate); R6 (R1 + 2% Zn-proteinate + 2% Cu-proteinate + 2% Curcumma). Parameters observed were 4%FCM milk production and subclinis status.  The results showed that ration supplemented with Curcumma, Zn-proteinate, and Cu-proteinate decreased mastitis subclinic status and 4% FCM milk production increased significantly.  Supplementation of Curcumma, Zn-proteinate, and Cu-proteinate resulted is the best for  decrease in subclinical mastitis indicator and increase 4% FCM milk production. Analytic solutions of the 1D finite coupling delta function Bose gas

An intensive study for both the weak coupling and strong coupling limits of the ground state properties of this classic system is presented. Detailed results for specific values of finite NN are given and from them results for general NN are determined. We focus on the density matrix and concomitantly its Fourier transform, the occupation numbers, along with the pair correlation function and concomitantly its Fourier transform, the structure factor. These are the signature quantities of the Bose gas. One specific result is that for weak coupling a rational polynomial structure holds despite the transcendental nature of the Bethe equations. All these new results are predicated on the Bethe ansatz and are built upon the seminal works of the past.Comment: 23 pages, 0 figures, uses rotate.sty. A few lines added. Accepted by Phys. Rev.

Quantum phase transitions in photonic cavities with two-level systems

Systems of coupled photonic cavities have been predicted to exhibit quantum phase transitions by analogy with the Hubbard model. To this end, we have studied topologies of few (up to six) photonic cavities each containing a single two-level system. Quantum phase space diagrams are produced for these systems, and compared to mean-field results. We also consider finite effective temperature, and compare this to the notion of disorder. We find the extent of the Mott lobes shrink analogously to the conventional Bose-Hubbard model.Comment: 11 pages, 11 figures, updated typo

Sugeng Juwono Mardihusodo, M. Amin Romas, Jestmandt Situmorang & M. Makin Ibnu Hadjar Isolation and characterization of spore-forming bacilli pathogenic for mosquito larvae inJava The use of chemical insecticides for controlling mosquito vector of diseases has resulted in a lot of negative impacts. The objective of this study was to search for spore-forming bacilli effective as larvicides for prospective production and being determined as one of the alternatives in the vector control strategies. The bacilli were tried to be isolated from mosquito larvae, soil and water of various mosquito larval habitats surveyed in several areas of Yogyakarta Special Territory, Central Java and EastJava. A number of 549 isolates was obtained from 203 total samples collected. Tests of pathogenicity of all isolates against early fourth stage larvae of Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito revealed the existence of 4 positive bacilli, namely B. pumilus, B. eereus and two new strains of B. sphaericus. Key Wards: spore-forming bacilli -entomopathogens - B. pumilus B. cereus - B. sphaericu

Ten minutes with Professor Matt Makin; Medical Director at North Manchester General Hospital, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

In late 2019, Professor Matt Makin was facing the significant challenge of leading North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) through a complex disaggregation process, as it left Pennine Acute NHS Trust and joined Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. This period of uncertainty was made yet more testing as the hospital had been earmarked as one of six hospitals destined for a complete rebuild and redevelopment, thus leading to significant management and leadership capacity being absorbed by strategic project planning. Moving into 2020, it soon became clear that a further challenge would require the full attention of leaders and managers across the health service. As the organisation with the regional centre for infectious diseases, North Manchester was looked to from the onset of the pandemic to provide support and advice to other acute providers across the region. In this short piece, Professor Makin describes some of the lessons learnt during this challenging time and describes how he dealt with the extraordinary pressures facing North Manchester services
