This study was conducted with the aim of questioning Integrated undergraduate and graduate university Teacher Study students (N = 132) about their scientific literacy. For this purpose, a questionnaire was prepared with questions from the Science and Social Study textbooks. Questions were grouped according to Bloom\u27s Taxonomy cognitive domain: Group 1 (Level 1 and Level 2 outcomes: list, name, identify), Group 2 (Level 3 and Level 4 outcomes: classify, relate, separate), and Group 3. (Level 5 and Level 6 outcomes: choose, evaluate and select). The research results show a low level of scientific literacy (51% correct answers). Students showed a good level of knowledge in the first group of questions (69%), and inadequate level of knowledge in the third (48%) and second group (38%) of questions. The main problems observed were sorting plants and animals that live in rivers, lakes, and the sea. Students showed an inadequate knowledge of herald of spring. The results of this study can help in students\u27 self- evaluation of knowledge. In order to achieve an appropriate level of scientific literacy for university students, recommendations were made for their development within the curriculum of Integrated undergraduate and graduate university Teacher Study

One of the most pressing concerns in the EU nowadays seems to be the impact of ageing population on the economy. In Croatia the problem is even more pronounced considering that a significant proportion of workforce leaves the labor market before the legal retirement age. One of potential reasons for early retirement might be the quality of working life (QWL) among older employees. Aim of our study was to explore QWL among older Croatian workers by comparing them to younger Croatian workers and their EU peers. Using the data from the 6th European Working Conditions Survey conducted during 2015 on over 30 000 participants, we compared the QWL of Croatian workers older than 50 with younger workers and their peers from well-established market economies of Western Europe and transitional Central and Eastern European countries. Research showed that older workers in Croatia perceive their QWL lower than younger Croatian workers and their peers from other EU countries (especially economic security and autonomy in work). We believe that these findings are, at least partially, the reason for their early retirement.

Vođeni ovom mišlju umjetnici diljem svijeta zadnjih nekoliko godina u svoja djela i umjetničke instalacije inkorporiraju i kulturu tetoviranja. This paper focuses on the culture of tattooing through human history and how it reflected in various aspects of human society. Holistic way of researching has enabled an interdisciplinary approach to the subject. Since the beginning of time, man as a thinking being has had a need to leave messages for other people, either in the form of cave paintings, statues or imprint on his own skin. How will the message be transmitted, how it will look in the eyes of the recipient and whether they want to accept it as such at the moment, one cannot know. Because of this, human culture and individual himself later encounters with condemnation of the practice of body modification, in this case of tattooing. The work covers the practice of tattooing, from the very beginning until today, with an overview of the development of tools necessary for the mere act of tattooing. Through a review of the main tattoo cultures and their features in the work, we get an insight into the human population on that specific area of the world. This paper also includes a brief review on other forms of body modification, which are often closely related to the tattoo industry. Part of this paper deals with the issue of problems in the tattoo culture, such as aesthetics, trend, kitsch and authenticity of tattoos. The paper also covers the reasons of decorating the human body, from the psychological side, and how science looks at it - as the self-destruction or the art of modern times. In its latest form, tattooing is an artistic endeavor where the author uses the human body as canvas. Guided by this thought artists around the world in the past few years have been incorporating tattoo culture in their art

Numerical analysis of accuracy for evolutionary anisotropic plasticity models

    Get PDF
In the present paper, elasto-plastic constitutive formulations based on the orthotropic four parametric quadratic Hill (1948) or non-quadratic Karafillis-Boyce (1993) stress function and distortional evolution of the yield function/plastic potential are presented. The anisotropy parameters of the analyzed yield functions/plastic potentials are introduced as functions of the equivalent plastic strain. The formulations are developed and analyzed considering experimental data for the selected steel sheet sample with reported significant variation of the instantaneous Lankford parameter with straining. Predictions of the directional dependences and variations with straining of the yield stress ratios and Lankford parameters obtained by the presented descriptions are considered. The algorithmic formulations of the analyzed constitutive descriptions are derived by application of the implicit return mapping algorithm. In order to estimate accuracy of the developed algorithms, iso-error maps are calculated and analyzed

    Get PDF
Background: World Health Organization, through a partnership with European Union, encourages the implementation e-health systems. E-health is a relatively old concept that is upgraded with new technologies and is directed toward monitoring different health conditions with the help of technology. Objectives: This paper\u27s main objective is to demonstrate e-health application possibilities in today’s healthcare organisations and its impact on the quality of provided health care services using ISO/TR 14639 Health informatics Capacity-based eHealth architecture roadmap. Methods/Approach: In this paper, we used the e-health architecture model for literature review based on individual areas of the model - ICT infrastructure, e-health infastructure, health process domain components, governance and national ownership. Results: Research confirms that new technologies have a favourable and significant impact on population health; however, more developed countries show a better understanding of the concept and are moving towards implementing laws and regulations for e-health practices. Conclusions: Through this research, we concluded that new technology significantly impacts health, but this impact is limited due to different development of countries. That is why it is very important to develop health literacy, which is the ability to comprehend, access, retrieve, and use health information or health services

Sustainable urban logistics is imperative in view of the increasing demands related to sustainability and the satisfaction of requirements related to sustainability, and it supports the implementation and use of solutions based on the application of electric vehicles when talking about transport logistics, ensuring all the resources necessary for the development of the basic urban process, and similar. In order to analyze the current situation related to the progress of researchers, in this paper, a bibliometric analysis of existing papers and research in the field of sustainable urban logistics was carried out. According to the findings, there is a significant lack of research dealing with urban logistics from the perspective of the supporting process, and a large number of authors summarize urban logistics solely from the perspective of transportation and storage
