Oribatid mites from the Vohimana Reserve, Madagascar (Acari: Oribatida), II

Further studies on the oribatid species collected from the Vohimana Reserve (Madagascar) are presented. Altogether 13 species are listed, of them two represent new genera (Rugocepheus gen. nov. and Madabelba gen. nov.), furthermore seven species are new to science. The other six species were earlier mentioned from different regions of the island, they are however little known

Dissorhina cretensis n. sp. and some other remarkable oribatid mites (Acari: Oribatida) from Crete, Greece

Newly collected and identified oribatids from Crete are studied and a list of the hitherto known species is provided. Altogether 37 species are enumerated from several sites of the island, among them 23 newly identified. One species new to science, Dissorhina cretensis n. sp., is described and three known, but rare species – Chamobates dentotutorii Shaldybina, 1969, Ocesobates boedvarssoni (Sellnick, 1974) and Humerobates rostrolamellatus Grandjean, 1936 – are described and/or commented and illustrated

Contribution to the knowledge of the Hungarian Oribatida fauna (Acari) II

Collecting at several sites in Hungary yielded six Oribatida species rare in Hungary [Verachthonius diversus Moritz, 1976, Damaeolus ornatissimus Csiszár, 1962, Berniniella setilonga Iturrondobeitia et Salofia, 1988, Suctobelba discrepans Moritz, 1970, Suctobelbella messneri Moritz, 1971, Bipassalozetes striatus (Mihelčič, 1955)] and two new to the science (Amerioppia hortensis, Urubambates xerophilus spp. n.). These results complement the knowledge of Hungarian oribatids and the distribution data in their catalogue published earlier (Mahunka and Mahunka-Papp 2004). Abstract. The Hungarian acarological literature from 1801 to 2010, excluding medical sciences (e.g. epidemiological,clinical acarology) is reviewed. Altogether 1500 articles by 437 authors are included. The publications gathered are presentedaccording to authors listed alphabetically. The layout follows the references of the paper of Horváth as appeared in the Foliaentomologica hungarica in 2004

Oribatids from the Carpathian Basin with zoogeographical and taxonomical notes (Acari: Oribatida), II

A list of oribatids collected at several sites in Transylvania, Romania (Carpathian Basin) includes 17 species. The study yielded some species new for the examined area and three (Dissorhina muranyii, Oppiella (Rhinoppia) mikoi, Conchogneta weigmanni spp. n.) new to science.
