    Evolución de la auto-resiliencia entre madres viudas en Malasia

    This study aims to explore the experiences of widowed mothers on the evolvement of their self- resilience after the loss of their spouses. This study which adopts a phenomenological approach involves six widows as respondents in semi-structured in-depth interviews. Data analysis results using Atlas.ti shows three main themes that emerge in the development of self-resilience among widowed. These themes encompass the following: the process of adapting, coping skills and support system. The process of adapting used by widows in developing self-resilience involves emotional, cognitive and behavioral adjustments. Widowed also uses spiritual, behavioral, cognitive and emotional approaches as part of their coping skills strategies to increase self-resilience. Support systems that are beneficial for respondent’s resilience come from family, friends, employers and government agencies. Widowed are able to bounce back, to beat the odds after a devastating life event, depending on how far they can adapt and cope, and the amount of support system received. Findings from this study suggest counseling services and interventions for single widowed mothers to focus more on adaptation, support systems, and coping skills to increase self-resilience.Este estudio tiene como objetivo explorar las experiencias de las madres viudas en la evolución de su capacidad de recuperación después de la pérdida de sus cónyuges. Este estudio que adopta un enfoque fenomenológico involucra a seis viudas como encuestadas en entrevistas en profundidad semiestructuradas. Los resultados del análisis de datos con Atlas.ti muestran tres temas principales que surgen en el desarrollo de la auto-resiliencia entre las viudas. Estos temas abarcan lo siguiente: el proceso de adaptación, las habilidades de afrontamiento y el sistema de apoyo. El proceso de adaptación utilizado por las viudas en el desarrollo de la auto-resiliencia implica ajustes emocionales, cognitivos y de comportamiento. Viudo también utiliza enfoques espirituales, conductuales, cognitivos y emocionales como parte de sus estrategias de habilidades de afrontamiento para aumentar la capacidad de recuperación. Los sistemas de apoyo que son beneficiosos para la capacidad de recuperación de los encuestados provienen de familiares, amigos, empleadores y agencias gubernamentales. Las viudas pueden recuperarse, superar las probabilidades después de un evento vital devastador, dependiendo de hasta qué punto puedan adaptarse y hacer frente, y la cantidad de sistema de apoyo recibido. Los resultados de este estudio sugieren servicios de asesoramiento e intervenciones para que las madres viudas solteras se centren más en la adaptación, los sistemas de apoyo y las habilidades de afrontamiento para aumentar la auto-resiliencia

    Shock Induced Damage Mechanism Of Perineuronal Net

    ECM components, such as the Perineuronal net (PNN), one of the most prevalent parts surrounding the neuronal cell. PNN is a protective net-like structure regulating neuronal activity such as neurotransmission, charge balance and generates an action potential. Shock induced damage of this essential component may cause neuronal cell death and potentially leads to CTE, AD diseases, PTSD, etc. The shock generated possibly during an accident, improvised devie explosion or collision between NFL players may lead to damage to this safety net. The goal is to investigate the mechanics of PNN under shock wave. To understand the mechanics of PNN, mechanical properties of different PNN components such as glycan, GAG, and protein need to be evaluated. In this study, we evaluated the mechanical strength of PNN molecules and the interfacial strength between the components of PNN. Afterward, we have assessed the PNN molecules' damage efficiency at various conditions such as shock speed, preexisting bubble, and boundary conditions. The secondary structure altercation of the protein molecules of the PNN has been analyzed to evaluate damage intensity under varying shock loading. At higher shock speed, damage intensity is more elevated, and hyaluronan is most likely to break at the rigid junction. The primary structure of the protein molecules is most unlikely to fail. Instead, the molecules' secondary bonds will be altered. Our study suggests that the number of hydrogen bonds during the shock wave propagation decreased.Comment: 2

    Community preparedness for tsunami disaster: a case study

    Purpose: The main objective of this study is to develop a tsunami emergency response plan for a coastal community by adopting a community‐based disaster preparedness approach. Design/methodology/approach: A multi‐strategy research design utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods was used. The weaknesses and strengths of the different agencies involved in responding to the 2004 tsunami disaster were identified through a focus group discussion. A survey was used to assess the preparedness of the community. Tsunami awareness and education were imparted through lectures, sermons, radio talk shows, informal briefings, workshops and printed materials. Tsunami evacuation routes, safe zones, warning protocols and evacuation plans were finalized through a consultation process with the community. A tsunami evacuation plan was verified during a table‐top exercise and was tested through a drill. Findings: It is evident from the study that a community‐based approach (where the local community is taken as the primary focus of attention in disaster reduction) to tsunami mitigation and preparedness is viable. This process has provided an opportunity for tapping traditional organizational structures and mechanisms (including formal and informal community leaders) and capability‐building activities with the community disaster committees and volunteers. Originality/value: Tsunami 2004 is the first ever tsunami disaster experienced in the country and thus the study provides significant lessons learned from the event. The community‐based approach to disaster preparedness is not the current practice in the country. Thus, the study demonstrates that the approach is a viable tool to enhance community preparedness to tsunami and other types of disasters as well

    PROFESIONALITAS KEPALA MADRASAH DALAM MELAKSANAKAN MANAJEMEN SISWA DI MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH NEGERI 2 MUARO JAMBI

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji profesionalitas kepala madrasah dalam melaksanakan manajemen siswa di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Muaro Jambi yang belum optimal. Pertanyaan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengapa profesionalitas kepala madrasah dalam melaksanakan manajemen siswa di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Muaro Jambi belum optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif bersifat deskriptif analitis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala madrasah guru, siswa. Penentuan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan serta verifikasi keterpercayaan hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan teknik perpanjangan keikutsertaan, ketelitian pengamatan, triangulasi data dan konsultasi pembimbing. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Profesionalitas kepala madrasah dalam melaksanakan manajemen siswa di MTs Negeri 2 Muaro Jambi yaituadalah: 1) Kemampuan untuk menjalankan tanggung jawab yang diserahan kepadanya masih belum sesuai standar, 2) Kemampuan untuk menerapkan keterampilan-keterampilan manajerial dalam pelaksanaan manajemen siswa belum maksimal; dan 3)Kemampuan untuk memotivasi guru, staf dan pegawai lainnya untuk bekerja dalam manajemen siswa tidak dilakukan secara konsisten.Faktor pendukung profesionalitas kepala madrasah dalam melaksanakan manajemen siswa di MTs Negeri 2 Muaro Jambi yaitu kerjasama yang solid antara tim manajemen,pelatihan yang tersedia untuk menambah pengalaman kepala madrasah dan guru, komunikasi yang mengalir dua arah. Faktor penghambatnya adalah anggaran dan fasilitas yang belum memadai. Upaya kepala madrasah mengoptimalkan profesionalitasnya dalam melaksanakan manajemen siswa di MTs Negeri 2 Muaro Jambi yaitu a) komitmen pimpinan, b) perbaikan terus menerus sesuai visi, c) ketersediaan anggaran mutu secara memadai Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah kepala madrasah dalam melaksanakan manajemen siswa di MTs Negeri 2 Muaro Jambi kurang profesional karena belum didukung dana dan sarana yang memadai sesuai kebutuhan pengembangan siswa

    Effects of Laminate Arrangement on the Failure Behaviour of Hybrid Composite Plates under Transverse Sinusoidal Load

    The present work deals with the effects of laminate arrangement on the failure behaviour of hybrid composite plates under transverse sinusoidal load. Failure analysis has been a subject under study for many years, especially for composite materials. This is largely due to the spontaneous nature of composite materials when it fails without warning. Hybrid composite are commonly utilized to improve the unexpected and instantaneous failure mode of composites. Nevertheless, the failure behaviour of hybrid composites is still not well understood. Moreover, studies have not exploited the effects on sinusoidal transverse loading on hybrid composites. Therefore, the first and last ply failure of the hybrid composite laminate was simulated and analysed using built in failure criteria function in ANSYS. The hybrid composite consisted of graphite (GR) and glass (GL), with lamination schemes of [GL/GL/GL/GL], [GL/GL/GL/GR] and [GR/GL/GL/GL] were subjected of transverse sinusoidal loading.  The laminate failure was predicted using the Maximum Stress Theory. Prior to determining the first and last ply failure of the hybrid composite plate, numerical validation was conducted to ensure the accuracy of the finite element software. The failure curves of the first ply failure and last ply failure were plotted and the results showed significant difference in the correlation of loadings that caused first and last ply failures and the lamination scheme of the hybrid composite plates. Thus, it can be said that the present work proves to be of importance and valuable in the field of study as well as enriching the knowledge regarding the failure behaviour of hybrid composite plate under transverse sinusoidal load of different laminate arrangement

    Advancing Brain Tumor Detection: A Thorough Investigation of CNNs, Clustering, and SoftMax Classification in the Analysis of MRI Images

    Brain tumors pose a significant global health challenge due to their high prevalence and mortality rates across all age groups. Detecting brain tumors at an early stage is crucial for effective treatment and patient outcomes. This study presents a comprehensive investigation into the use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for brain tumor detection using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images. The dataset, consisting of MRI scans from both healthy individuals and patients with brain tumors, was processed and fed into the CNN architecture. The SoftMax Fully Connected layer was employed to classify the images, achieving an accuracy of 98%. To evaluate the CNN's performance, two other classifiers, Radial Basis Function (RBF) and Decision Tree (DT), were utilized, yielding accuracy rates of 98.24% and 95.64%, respectively. The study also introduced a clustering method for feature extraction, improving CNN's accuracy. Sensitivity, Specificity, and Precision were employed alongside accuracy to comprehensively evaluate the network's performance. Notably, the SoftMax classifier demonstrated the highest accuracy among the categorizers, achieving 99.52% accuracy on test data. The presented research contributes to the growing field of deep learning in medical image analysis. The combination of CNNs and MRI data offers a promising tool for accurately detecting brain tumors, with potential implications for early diagnosis and improved patient care

    Bit Communication in Artificial Swarm

    Bit communication in swarm agents is a communication process of transmitting data within specific area. The data must be delivered to all agents in the area which this process also closely related to broadcasting manner through bit-communication as a way to spread out the data among all those agents. This research field is supposed to have a deep study of behavior of homogeneous agents by inspecting the reversing and non-reversing approach. It also included the investigation of the independent and characteristic of transmitting and receiving data for random process of swarm. In this paper, swarm technique is implemented which is useful for bit-communication behavior. There are two approaches are used for transmitting and receiving process. For the reverse approach, the data can be resend back to the sender for the next cycle where the program randomly select one-of nearest agent for transmitting the data. While in non-reversing approach, the data cannot retransmit back to the sender in the previous cycle; this approach may increase the system performance and efficiency
