Učinak zajedničke primjene meloksikama na anestetsko djelovanje natrijevog tiopentala na modelu pilića
Few studies have dealt with thiopental sodium-induced anaesthetic action and the effect of combining meloxicam (a high plasma protein-bound) in 10–15 day old chicks. First, the analgesic median effective dose (ED50) was determined as 35.85 mg/kg, IM by up-and-down routine, while the hypnotic ED50 value was 34.40 mg/kg, IM in the chick model. A thiopental sodium injection (18, 36 and 72 mg/kg, IM) produces a significant dose-responsive hypnotic effect in chicks, determined by the beginning of the lack of a righting reflex, duration and recovery time. Thiopental sodium and meloxicam (72 and 1 mg/kg, IM) in combination shortened the beginning of hypnosis, and significantly extended its duration, with a significant increase in recovery time from the hypnotic effect when compared to the group receiving only thiopental sodium. The same combination also elicited a significant increase in the analgesic percentage and efficacy, and significant increase in the voltage current estimated via using electrical stimulation to induce the ache feeling. No significant changes were found in the concentrations of serum glutamate pyruvate trans-aminase (GPT), glutamate oxalo-acetate trans-aminase (GOT) with body temperature between the two groups, with the exception of a significant change in respiratory rate. The outcomes of this study support the prospect of using thiopental sodium as an anaesthetic agent for veterinary surgical procedures in the chicks, in combination with meloxicam, to produce worthy, consistent, and proficient anaesthesia. Injekcija natrijevog pentanola (18, 36 i 72 mg/kg, intramuskularno) stvara značajni hipnotički učinak ovisno o dozi u pilića određivanjem početka izostanka refleksa uspravljanja i tranja u vremenu oporavka.
Data Aggregation and Packet Bundling of Uplink Small Packets for Monitoring Applications in LTE
In cellular massive Machine-Type Communications (MTC), a device can transmit
directly to the base station (BS) or through an aggregator (intermediate node).
While direct device-BS communication has recently been in the focus of 5G/3GPP
research and standardization efforts, the use of aggregators remains a less
explored topic. In this paper we analyze the deployment scenarios in which
aggregators can perform cellular access on behalf of multiple MTC devices. We
study the effect of packet bundling at the aggregator, which alleviates
overhead and resource waste when sending small packets. The aggregators give
rise to a tradeoff between access congestion and resource starvation and we
show that packet bundling can minimize resource starvation, especially for
smaller numbers of aggregators. Under the limitations of the considered model,
we investigate the optimal settings of the network parameters, in terms of
number of aggregators and packet-bundle size. Our results show that, in
general, data aggregation can benefit the uplink massive MTC in LTE, by
reducing the signalling overhead.Comment: to appear in IEEE Networ
The Methods of Measurement and Analysis of Risks in Businesses: A Case Study on the Jordan Valley Authority
This research attempted to shed light on the different measures used to evaluate risk. The research examines the Jordan Valley Authority’s risk measurements and explores the different procedures and techniques used to evaluate, or avoid (in some cases) risk. The research found that despite the existence of various quantitative methods to measure risk, the standard methodology used by Jordan Valley Authority is based on experience and intuition. Most managers, in this study relied heavily on the manager’s experience to handle risk. There are two ways to manage risk. The first is to avoid scenarios that could lead to a risky situation, causing the organization to divert from achieving its goals, and the second deals with reducing the effect of danger (or harm) caused by risk. Keywords: Risk measurement, risk assessment, Entrepreneurship, leadership, entrepreneurial dimension properties, and chances of survival

The Cultural Diversity in the Workplace
This research paper presents the workplace cultural diversity of a developing country (Iraq) and its role to make the position is better than before. This paper will examine the vision of diversity, diversity in an organization, and the cultural diversity in the workplace, and its role to help the organization in its success. The research methods were used to recognize the importance of cultural diversity, using a framework with specific measures, to evaluate the points of view of administrators and decision-makers in a number of companies in Kurdistan region of Iraq. The researchers concluded that many of the respondents didn’t complain or suffer from racism in their companies in Kurdistan region of Iraq, and many of the respondents believe that their companies encourage the cultural diversity. Also, the researchers recommend that organizations in Kurdistan region of Iraq should organize conferences, meetings, and seminars to encourage the cultural diversity
Cracks in Tension-Field Elastic Sheets
International audienceWe consider the deformation of a thin elastic sheet which is stiff in traction but very soft in compression, as happens in presence of wrinkling. We use the tension-field material model and explore numerically the response of a thin sheet containing multiple cracks of different geometries, when subjected to applied tension. With a single crack, the stress concentrates along a St-Andrew's cross-shaped pattern, whose branches extend from the crack tips to the corners of the domain; at a (small) distance r from the crack tip, the stress displays the usual stress singularity but with an unusual and non-universal angular dependence. A strong interaction between multiple cracks is reported and discussed: in particular, for certain configurations of the cracks, the tensile stiffness of a cracked sheet can be zero even though the sheet is made up of a single component

Choice Overload or Time Stress: What Determines Purchase Decisions for Airline Tickets?
Previous research has identified choice overload as a potential cause for purchase deferral. Researchers suggest that the decision difficulties and frustration consumers experience when processing significant amounts of information can lead to decision avoidance and have also found that, consistent with such explanation, that time constraints act as a moderator: approaching deadlines seems to amplify choice overload due to an increased cognitive burden. Identifying moderators of choice overload and discovering contexts in which choice overload occurs is a promising research direction and more importantly it is still unclear whether this phenomenon exists in real business contexts. With the present study, we address this gap and study the interaction between assortment size and time constraints in a purchase context dominated by uncertainty. We conducted two studies to investigate how number of options and time pressure influence purchase decisions. Past research in time effects vary in understanding of time pressure and focus on either real decision deadlines (physical time) or subjective feeling of pressure associated with time (sense of urgency or psychological time). We test both the moderating effect of physical time and psychological time and compare their impact
