Spindle is one of the most important member in turning machines, so that its precision determines the dimensional tolerances of machined parts. In this paper, the spindle’s response to standard input parameters has been analyzed via Finite Element Method (FEM).From this point of view, the spindle of LZ330VS turning type machine is modeled with Solid Works software. Then, the model is meshed via Msc-Patran software and analyzed by ANSYS. Four values which are the same for all inputs are applied to each one to study the affection of input parameters on the model, simultaneously. The results show that increasing in applied loads increases the oscillating dominations. The value of applied forces has also more affection than the applying time and input type on the oscillating dominations

Abstract: Background & Aims: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effect of 8 weeks specific aquatic therapy on kyphosis angle and some pulmonary indices in male university students with kyphosis. Methods: A total of 15 males with increased normal thoracic Kyphosis (kyphosis ≤40 degrees, 20.70 ± 0.705 years old, height 175.5 ± 6.19 cm, weight 64.19 ± 8.23 kg) were selected. Before and after aquatic therapy, the angle of kyphosis was measured by using flexible ruler as a noninvasive and reliable method. Pulmonary indices such as force vital capacity (FVC), force expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV), peak inspiratory flow (PIF) and peak expiratory flow (PEF) were measured by digital spirometry. Pre-test and post-test results were compared using t-test. Results: Kyphosis angle, FVC, MVV and PEF were improved significantly after an 8-week aquatic therapy (P≤0.05). Conclusion: According to the results, aquatic therapy in patients with kyphosis is recommended. Keywords: Kyphosis, Exercise therapy, Water, Spirometry, Amendatory movement

Estimating the Effect of Fluid in Pressing Process

To analyze the effect of various parameters of fluid on the material properties such as surface and depth defects and/or cracks, it is possible to determine the affection of pressure field on these specifications. Stress tensor analysis is also able to determine the points in which the probability of defection creation is more. Besides, from pressure field, it is possible to analyze the affection of various fluid specifications such as viscosity and density on defect created in the material. In this research, the concerned boundary conditions are analyzed first. Then the solution network and stencil used are mentioned. With the determination of relevant equation on the fluid flow between notch and matrix and their discretion according to the governed boundary conditions, these equations can be solved. Finally, with the variation creations on fluid parameters such as density and viscosity, the affection of these variations can be determined on pressure field. In this direction, the flowchart and solution algorithm with their results as vortex and current function contours for two conditions with most applications in pressing process are introduced and discussed

The Possibility of Moral Reasoning in Hare’s Prescriptivism

The contemporary approaches to moral philosophy have experienced diverging directions regarding the possibility and justification of reasoning. Hare claims that in spite of the fact that intuitivists like Moore, Ross, and Prichard block the use of reasoning by accepting the intuitiveness of knowledge of good and bad, emotivism takes the same rout by focusing on emotions and emphasizing the freedom of choice. While descriptivism and also naturalism accept the possibility of reasoning through admitting the indicative nature of ethical speech, they reject or limit the freedom of choice. He tries to justify both the freedom of choice and the possibility of rational reasoning in moral. In so doing, Hare takes refuge in the non-self-contradiction and compatibility principles to insist on the universalizability of rules of moral reasoning. To make judgments of relevance is the prerequisite in morals which subsequently encompasses universalizability and the possibility of reasoning. Using the linguistic analysis, Hare tries to show that as language in which predicate-logic governs statements, imperatives and moral sentences are governed by rational relationships and principles of compatibility. From this point of view, an individual’s judgments are justifiable, provided that it is not in contradiction with his previous judgments. The aim of this study is to state, analyze, and criticize Hare’s views regarding the provision of rational reasoning and its possibility in terms of the challenges he faces with regard to competing schools of thought

Background: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteraemia is related to high morbidity and mortality. Teicoplanin is a semi synthetic glycopeptide antibiotic with a spectrum of activity similar to vancomycin. Our objective is the evaluation of efficacy and safety of Teicoplanin in MRSA infections among severely poisoned intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Methods: During a 6 months period, in a prospective cross sectional study, 54 eligible patients were recruited from among 80 who were clinically suspicious for MRSA infections. The efficacy and safety ofTeicoplanin by loding dose of 6 mg/kg (maximum 400 mg per dose) for three loading doses 12 hours apart and then every 24 hours was evaluated 5 times. The clinical findings, laboratory data, and bacteriologic responses were categorized as cure, improvement and failure. Results: The mean(SD) age was 36.3(13.3) years. 75.9 were male. Suicidal attempts were recorded in 63. The most common poisoning was TCAs, BZDs, tramadol and opium. 94.4 were unconscious and under mechanical ventilation. Tracheal cultures were positive in 98.1 by VAP diagnosis. ICU length of stay was between 4-54 days. Total clinical effectiveness was 90.4, and failure 9.6. Mortality rate was 9/54 (16.6 ). On the fourth visit, the adverse effects included: rash (11.10), anemia (36.17), nephrotoxicity (17.02) and thrombocytopenia < 150000 (100). Other side effects such as: leucopenia, severe thrombocytopenia (< 50000), pancytopenia and red man syndrome were not detected. Conclusions: Teicoplanin can be suggested for use in forMRSA infections among severely poisoned patient, based on its efficacy, safety, half life and tolerance. © Mattioli 1885

Tramadol is a synthetic and centrally active analgesic. Hypoglycemia as another possible major side effect among abusers has not been known well. Our objective is evaluation of the Blood Glucose Level (BGL) among tramadol-overdosed patients. This prospective cross-sectional study was performed from Feb to June 2013; BGL was measured at the time of admission, 8 and 12 hours later. All patients with hypoglycemia received infusion of 0.5-1gr/kg of hypertonic dextrose and their BGL was checked every hour until normal BGL. Patients' demographic, clinical and paraclinical data were collected. Totally, 128 patients with a mean (SD) age of 24.5 (6.9) years were recruited; 127 (99.2) were male. Seizure occurred in 59.4 cases. Mean ±SD admission BGL was 94.88±21.5mg/dL. Fourteen patients experienced hypoglycemia within 12 hours period. Hyperglycemia was experienced in 8 patients (6.25) on admission day. There was no significant relation between the dose of tramadol and BGL. In conclusion, hypoglycemia must be considered asan important side effect of tramadol-overdose. It is suggested that serial BGL monitoring in cases of Tramadol-overdose should be done for early recognition of hypoglycemia and its timely management. Also hyperglycemia may be revealed
