In questa tesi vengono innanzitutto presentati due metodi matematici per lo studio di modelli biomedici e comportamentali. I modelli presentati sono tre: un modello per lo studio dell'evoluzione della malattia di Alzheimer, uno per lo studio dello sviluppo dei tumori e uno per la diffusione del Covid-19. Si riportano anche alcuni codici utilizzati per lo studio e lo sviluppo dei modelli trattati. Le conclusioni contengono alcuni possibili sviluppi degli argomenti trattati

Calculation of the attenuation and phase displacement per unit of length due to rain composed of ellipsoidal drops

All of the phenomena which influence the propagation of radiowaves at frequencies above 10 GHz (attenuation, depolarization, scintillation) can by intensified by parameters directly derived from a solution of individual scatter, naturally in addition to be meteorological elements which characterize the physical medium. The diffusion caused by rainy precipitation was studied using Mie's algorithm for rain composed of spherical drops, and Oguchi's algorithm for rain composed of drops in an ellipsoidal form with axes of rotational symmetry arrange along the vertical line of a generic reference point. Specific phase displacement and attenuation along the principal planes, propagation of radiowaves in generic polarization, and propagation with inclined axes are also considered

Career competencies amongst early career researchers: A response to contemporary uncertain work contexts?

In a context where the research career patterns are dramatically changing, it is increasingly difficult for early career researchers to anticipate and prepare for their future careers. In this paper, we examine this issue by drawing on data from three recent studies conducted with European early career researchers using qualitative and quantitative methods. Our findings highlight that beyond the research and generic skills these researchers have acquired throughout their academic paths, some of them also developed a contemporary type of metacompetency defined as career competency. The latter refers to reflexive communicative and behavioural skills, knowledge and abilities that help one to cope with uncertain professional contexts. The relevance of this type of competency for career development interventions is discussed, and further research perspectives are provided

Arti terapie presso il Centro Protesi di Vigorso di Budrio

L’articolo contiene alcune riflessioni sull’innovativa esperienza di arte e musicoterapia all’interno del centro protesi INAIL sito a Vigorso di Budrio (Bo). L’applicazione in ambito medico delle arti terapie è relativamente recente in Italia e pionieristica nel contesto di un centro protesi. Le riflessioni muovono attorno ai fattori terapeutici spe- cifici delle arti terapie rivolte ai pazienti che hanno subito l’amputazione di uno o più arti che sono in attesa di protesi e ai loro familiari. L’intervento ha la finalità di integrare la cura e la riabilitazione con gli obiettivi specifici di sostenere e rafforzare le ri- sorse creative, facilitare l’espressione di sé, rafforzare la fiducia in se stessi e nelle pro- prie capacità, favorire la capacità di entrare in relazione con gli altri, facilitare la condivisione delle esperienze e della socializzazione, offrire mezzi adeguati alla canalizza- zione degli impulsi depressivi e aggressivi, offrire uno spazio di contenimento e di ela- borazione delle esperienze e favorire l’integrazione. Le arti terapie hanno contribuito alla ricostruzione dell’identità, al rinforzo del sé, al sostegno dell’autostima, all’infusione di fiducia nel futuro e sostenuto il difficile processo dell’elaborazione del trauma. Il testo include esemplificazioni cliniche e i primi dati di una ricerca qualitativa volta a verificare il gradimento e a indicare elementi specifici di utilità ed efficacia dal punto di vista dei clienti. «Art therapies at the prosthesis center in Vigorso, Budrio». The paper includes some considerations about an innovative art and music therapy experience in the prosthesis center in Vigorso, Budrio near Bologna. Medical art therapies have recently been introduced in Italy, and for the first time in a prosthesis center. Our considerations are about art therapy specific therapeutic factors for patients, waiting for prosthesies, and for care givers and relatives. The goals of intervention are to integrate the medical treatment and rehabilitation, to substain creative resources, self expression, self-confidence, relational competence, to facilitate condivision, to offer adequate means to contain and elaborate experiences of depressive and aggressive impulses, to offer emotional contaiment and experience processing. Art therapies have contributed to reconstruct identity, reinforce self-esteem, to infuse confidence, to instill confidence in the future and they have helped the difficult experience of trauma processing. Career Adapt-Abilities Scale–Short Form (CAAS-SF) : Construction and Validation

The Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS; Savickas & Porfeli, 2012) has become one of the most widely used questionnaires to assess career adaptability. To facilitate the integration of this instrument into large surveys, in varied settings with different populations, the aim of this article was to develop a briefer version consisting of 12 items, the CAAS-SF. A sample of 2,800 French and German-speaking adults living in Switzerland (Mage = 41.2, SD = 9.4) completed the 24-item version of the CAAS. On a first random subsample, item-reduction using principal component analyses highlighted a four-factor solution corresponding to the original CAAS. Confirmatory factor analyses, conducted on a second random subsample, confirmed the hierarchical factor structure of the short version. The CAAS-SF reached measurement equivalence across linguistic and gender groups. Furthermore, the 12 and 24-item versions were strongly associated. Overall, the results supported the CAAS-SF as pertinent and economical alternative to the 24-item version

Differential associations of personal and general just-world beliefs with the Five-Factor and HEXACO models of personality.

Recent literature evidences differential associations of personal and general just-world beliefs with constructs in the interpersonal domain. In line with this research, we examine the respective relationships of each just-world belief with the Five-Factor and the HEXACO models of personality in one representative sample of the working population of Switzerland and one sample of the general US population, respectively. One suppressor effect was observed in both samples: Neuroticism and emotionality was positively associated with general just-world belief, but only after controlling for personal just-world belief. In addition, agreeableness was positively and honesty-humility negatively associated with general just-world belief but unrelated to personal just-world belief. Conscientiousness was consistently unrelated to any of the just-world belief and extraversion and openness to experience revealed unstable coefficients across studies. We discuss these points in light of just-world theory and their implications for future research taking both dimensions into account

Should the General Practitioner Consider Mesotherapy (Intradermal Therapy) to Manage Localized Pain?

Wide variations in the types of pain and response to analgesic pharmacotherapy mean that a variety of treatment strategies are needed. One approach is mesotherapy (intradermal therapy). This consists of microinjections into the skin and is ideally suited to the management of localized pain. Advantages include increasing the duration of drug activity, reduced risk of adverse events and interactions, and possible synergy with other therapies. Mesotherapy provides general practitioners with another tool for the treatment of local pain. However, it is important to provide patients with full details of the pros and cons of this approach and obtain informed patient consent

Desarrollo de una gramática para aserciones simples en español y su implementación en Prolog

En este trabajo se buscó explorar las virtudes de Prolog para el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural, haciendo uso de las Definite-Clause Grammars (DCG) para implementar una gramática del idioma español, que cubra aserciones sencillas, y con particularidades del español rioplatense. Ésta permite determinar, dada una oración, si ésta es o no correcta según la gramática, o bien generar oraciones que sean gramaticales. Se deseaba que la gramática estuviera documentada paso a paso, registrando las decisiones que se tomaron para poder hacer un uso intensivo de las herramientas que proporcionan las DCG de Prolog para este fin. El resultado es una gramática de ochenta reglas que permite generar oraciones simples, respetando las reglas elementales de la gramática española, como la concordancia entre el sujeto y el predicado (aun cuando el sujeto es compuesto) y permitiendo la inclusión de frases relativas, entre otras cosas, y que a la vez admite características propias del rioplatense como la redundancia pronominal de los objetos directos.Sociedad Argentina de Informática e Investigación Operativ
