As for the Sambagawa belt, the tectonics of the phases when the Sambagawa metamorphic field was placed under the condition of the highest temperature and then its collapse began have been analysed

    Sinus floor elevation with platelet-rich fibrin alone : a clinical retrospective study of 1-7 years

    Several sinus floor elevation procedures for implant placement have been introduced. The present study aimed to evaluate the implants placed with Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) alone in atrophic posterior maxillae and survival rates and the potential factors associated with implant loss. This retrospective study evaluated 71 implants in 34 patients after 1-7 years? follow-up time. Statistical models were used to determine the implant survival and the potential factors associated with loss. Overall, 7 implants were lost, and the cumulative survival rate at 7 years by implant-based and patient-bases analyses were 85.5% and 85.7%, respectively. The mean residual bone height (RBH) was 4.26 mm. The implant survival rate was significantly lower at RBH < 4 mm than RBH ? 4 mm. This retrospective study showed that sinus floor elevation with PRF alone could be applied in cases of lower RBH. However, it should be carefully performed in cases of RBH < 4 mm before surgery

    Children’s Perception of Cancer and Survivors After a Cancer Education Program Engaging with Survivors: A Qualitative Study

    Background: In Japan, cancer education utilizing external lecturers are being promoted as part of cancer control measures. The objective of this study was to clarify children’s perceptions of cancer and survivors and their awareness of actions for early prevention and detection of cancer after participating in a cancer education program engaging with survivors.Methods: This study was conducted during January and March 2020, using the qualitative analysis method. Homeroom teachers gave a lesson on cancer to sixth-grade students (n=69) at an elementary school in Japan. Two weeks later, a cancer survivor gave a follow-up class. Then an inductive content analysis was conducted on the content of the post-class reflection worksheets written by students.Results: After analyzing the worksheets of 59 students, they learned that “to reduce the risk of developing cancer, one should lead a healthy lifestyle” and “strive for early detection through cancer screening” through the education program. As things they can do themselves in the future, they listed “encourage family members to get cancer screenings,” “quit smoking,” and “cut back on alcohol.” In addition, children have deepened their understanding of cancer survivors and learned the importance of their own and others’ lives.Conclusion: The results suggested that children gained practical knowledge about cancer through the program and deepened their understanding of cancer and survivors by directly interacting with and listening to survivors

    Reliability and Validity of the Japanese Version of the Basel Assessment of Adherence to Immunosuppressive Medications Scale in Kidney Transplant Recipients

    A valid and reliable instrument that can measure adherence is needed to identify nonadherent patients and to improve adherence. However, there is no validated Japanese self-report instrument to evaluate adherence to immunosuppressive medications for transplant patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the reliability and validity of the Japanese version of the Basel Assessment of Adherence to Immunosuppressive Medications Scale (BAASIS).; We translated the BAASIS into Japanese and developed the Japanese version of the BAASIS (J-BAASIS) according to the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research task force guidelines. We analyzed the reliability (test-retest reliability and measurement error) and validity of the J-BAASIS (concurrent validity with the medication event monitoring system and the 12-item Medication Adherence Scale) referring to the COSMIN Risk of Bias checklist.; A total of 106 kidney transplant recipients were included in this study. In the analysis of test-retest reliability, Cohen's kappa coefficient was found to be 0.62. In the analysis of measurement error, the positive and negative agreement were 0.78 and 0.84, respectively. In the analysis of concurrent validity with the medication event monitoring system, sensitivity and specificity were 0.84 and 0.90, respectively. In the analysis of concurrent validity with the 12-item Medication Adherence Scale, the point-biserial correlation coefficient for the "medication compliance" subscale was 0.38 (; P; < 0.001).; The J-BAASIS was determined to have good reliability and validity. Using the J-BAASIS to evaluate adherence can help clinicians to identify medication nonadherence and institute appropriate corrective measures to improve transplant outcomes

    Pneumatic actuators have several advantages such as light weight safety low cost and high compliance However many pneumatic actuators have complicated systems that include a compressor air tubes and pneumatic valves with electrical wires This research proposes a new control method for a multiplex pneumatic transmission constructed with special resonant valves and air tubes with a control system driven by air vibration in air tubes without electrical wires The control is simplified and effective for pneumatic systems having many degrees of freedom In this paper the development of a primitive model of the resonant valve and a prototype valve is described In addition two control methods which are a superimposing method and a time-sharing method are shown and the independent driving of four actuators is realized by using one of the control methods with air tubes only

    Drug retention of sarilumab, baricitinib, and tofacitinib in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: the ANSWER cohort study

    Objectives: The aim of this multicenter, retrospective study was to clarify the retention rates of sarilumab (SAR), baricitinib (BAR), and tofacitinib (TOF) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods: Patients treated with either SAR (n = 62), BAR (n = 166), or TOF (n = 185) (females, 80.9%; age, 61.0 years; disease duration, 11.1 years; rheumatoid factor positivity, 84.4%; Disease Activity Score in 28 joints using erythrocyte sedimentation rate, 4.3; concomitant prednisolone dose, 5.3 mg/day [47.0%] and methotrexate dose, 8.8 mg/week [58.4%]; biologics- or Janus kinase inhibitors-switched cases 78.4%) were included. The reasons for drug discontinuation were classified into 4 major categories (lack of effectiveness, toxic adverse events, non-toxic reasons, and remission) by each attending physician. The drug retention rate was estimated at 18 months using the Kaplan–Meier method and adjusted for potential confounders by Cox proportional hazards modeling. Results: The discontinuation rates of SAR, BAR, and TOF for the corresponding reasons were as follows, respectively: lack of effectiveness (15.7%, 15.6%, and 21.5%; P = 0.84), toxic adverse events (15.8%, 12.1%, and 12.3%; P = 0.35), non-toxic reasons (10.9%, 7.7%, and 6.8%; P = 0.35), and remission (0.0%, 2.8%, and 0.0%; P = 1.0). The overall retention rates excluding non-toxic reasons and remission were as follows: 68.8% for SAR, 72.5% for BAR, and 66.7% for TOF (P = 0.54).     Factors affecting drug retention of Janus kinase inhibitors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: the ANSWER cohort study

    This multi-center, retrospective study aimed to clarify the factors affecting drug retention of the Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi) including baricitinib (BAR) and tofacitinib (TOF) in patients with RA. Patients were as follows; females, 80.6%; age, 60.5 years; DAS28-ESR, 4.3; treated with either BAR (n = 166) or TOF (n = 185); bDMARDs- or JAKi-switched cases (76.6%). The reasons for drug discontinuation were classified into four major categories. The drug retention was evaluated at 24 months using the Kaplan–Meier method and multivariate Cox proportional hazards modelling adjusted by confounders. Discontinuation rates for the corresponding reasons were as follows; ineffectiveness (22.3%), toxic adverse events (13.3%), non-toxic reasons (7.2%) and remission (0.0%). Prior history of anti-interleukin-6 receptor antibody (aIL-6R) ineffectiveness significantly increased the risk of treatment discontinuation due to ineffectiveness (p = 0.020). Aging (≥ 75 years) (p = 0.028), usage of PSL ≥ 5 mg/day (p = 0.017) and female sex (p = 0.041) significantly increased the risk of treatment discontinuation due to toxic adverse events. Factors not associated with treatment discontinuation were: number of prior bDMARDs or JAKi, concomitant MTX usage, difference of JAKi, and prior use of TNF inhibitor, CTLA4-Ig or other JAKi.Ebina K., Hirano T., Maeda Y., et al.
