Infinite first order differential systems with nonlocal initial conditions
We discuss the solvability of an infinite system of first order ordinary
differential equations on the half line, subject to nonlocal initial
conditions. The main result states that if the nonlinearities possess a
suitable "sub-linear" growth then the system has at least one solution. The
approach relies on the application, in a suitable Fr\'echet space, of the
classical Schauder-Tychonoff fixed point theorem. We show that, as a special
case, our approach covers the case of a system of a finite number of
differential equations. An illustrative example of application is also
provided.Comment: 12 page
Enhancing textual accessibility for readers with dyslexia through transfer learning
This paper explores automated modification of text to make it more accessible for people with dyslexia, a reading disorder affecting a significant percentage of the global population. The modifications are both in terms of changing the appearance of text and simplification of the words, grammar, and length of textual mate- rial. For simplification of text, we built a dataset with original and dyslexia-friendly text verified by human readers that it improve their reading experience by 27% on average. Then we developed a pipeline to generate dyslexia-friendly text automatically using transfer learning. The model learns styles appropriate for dyslexic users and generates dyslexia-friendly text from arbitrary textual data, which is easier for people with dyslexia to read and interpret.Computer Scienc
An Ethnomedicine Study among Women in Uremia (North-West Iran)
During the recent years, ethomedicine has attracted a great deal of attention among the investigators throughout the
world. Although ethnomedicine seeks, in the first place, to compensate for a biological need through providing cures for
disorders, it, however, is of a cultural nature, too, in that it investigates people’s behaviors and reactions toward health
and the issues related to it. Consequently, traditional health must be counted as a component of a society’s culture. Investigations
of people’s views toward traditional medicine are capable of throwing light on acquaintance with their conducts,
customs, traditions and behaviors, as well as the social-economic conditions prevailing in their environment. In
addition, such investigations of public medicine bring about familiarities with gradual developments in traditional
medical methodologies as introduced by culture, economic, or social factors, first into the society, then medicine. Familiarizations
with cultural diversities in relation to medicine are the end results. The present paper comprise an anthropological
approach toward investigation of ethnomedical practiced by women of Uremia (North-West, Iran
