    Coulomb corrections to inclusive cross sections at the future Electron - Ion Collider

    The experimental results of the future electron -- ion (eAe A) collider are expected to constrain the dynamics of the strong interactions at small values of the Bjorken -- xx variable and large nuclei. Recently it has been suggested that Coulomb corrections can be important in inclusive and diffractive eAeA interactions. In this paper we present a detailed investigation of the impact of the Coulomb corrections to some of the observables that will be measured in the future eAeA collider. In particular, we estimate the magnitude of these corrections for the charm and longitudinal cross sections in inclusive and diffractive interactions. Our results demonstrate that the Coulomb corrections for these observables are negligible, which implies that they can be used to probe the QCD dynamics.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures.     Influence of Disorder Strength on Phase Field Models of Interfacial Growth

    We study the influence of disorder strength on the interface roughening process in a phase-field model with locally conserved dynamics. We consider two cases where the mobility coefficient multiplying the locally conserved current is either constant throughout the system (the two-sided model) or becomes zero in the phase into which the interface advances (one-sided model). In the limit of weak disorder, both models are completely equivalent and can reproduce the physical process of a fluid diffusively invading a porous media, where super-rough scaling of the interface fluctuations occurs. On the other hand, increasing disorder causes the scaling properties to change to intrinsic anomalous scaling. In the limit of strong disorder this behavior prevails for the one-sided model, whereas for the two-sided case, nucleation of domains in front of the invading front are observed.Comment: Accepted for publication in PR

    Um grupo de 118 vacas dividido segundo o período pós-parto em G1 (<42 dias pós-parto) e G2 (3 42 dias) foi submetido a sincronização do estro e inseminação artificial em momento pre-estabelecido (IAME). Doze dias depois procedeu-se a re-sincronização com um implante de 6 mg de norgestomet, que foi retirado nove dias depois. Uma segunda IAME foi feita 48 horas depois, apenas nas vacas nao-prenhes a 1 IAME. As vacas do G2 tiveram taxa de prenhez maior na IAME inicial. As taxas de prenhez a 2 IA e cumulativa não deferiram entre grupos

    Evidence of Nodal Line in the Superconducting Gap Symmetry of Noncentrosymmetric ThCoC2_{2}

    The newly discovered noncentrosymmetric superconductor ThCoC2_{2} exhibits numerous unconventional behavior in the field dependent heat capacity data. Here we present the first measurement of the gap symmetry of ThCoC2_{2} by muon spin rotation/relaxation (μ(\muSR) measurements. Temperature dependence of the magnetic penetration depth measured using the transverse field μ\muSR measurement reveal the evidence of nodal pairing symmetry. To understand these findings, we carry out the calculations of superconducting pairing eigenvalue and eigenfunction symmetry due to the spin-fluctuation mechanism, by directly implemented the {\it ab-initio} band structures. We find that the system possesses a single Fermi surface with considerable three-dimensionality, and hence a strong nesting along the kzk_z-direction. Such a nesting promotes a superconducting pairing with a coskz\cos{k_z}-like symmetry with a prominent nodal line on the kz=±π/2k_z=\pm\pi/2 plane.     QCD traveling waves phenomenology revisited

    In this paper we review and update the Amaral-Gay Ducati-Betemps-Soyez saturation model, by testing it against the recent H1-ZEUS combined data on deep inelastic scattering, including heavy quarks in the dipole amplitude. We obtain that this model, which is based on traveling wave solutions of the Balitsky-Kovchegov equation and built in the momentum space framework, yields very accurate descriptions of the reduced cross section, σr(x,y,Q2)\sigma_{r}(x,y,Q^{2}), as well as DIS structure functions such as F2(x,Q2)F_{2}(x,Q^{2}) and FL(x,Q2)F_{L}(x,Q^{2}), all measured at HERA. Additionally, it provides good descriptions of heavy quark structure functions, F2ccF_{2}^{cc} and F2bbF_{2}^{bb} at small-xx and Q260Q^{2}\lesssim 60 GeV2^{2}. We also use the improved model to make predictions for structure functions to be measured in the near future at LHeC.Comment: 13 pages, 7 figure
