Education is an effort to prepare students to be able live well in the society, able to develop and improve the quality of their own lives, and contribute signifiantly in developing and improving the quality of society and nation . There are six main problems in the national education system, (1) decline moral and character of students, (2) equitable distribution oflearning opportunities, (3) low internal effiiency of the education system, (4) institutional status, (5) management of education that is not in line with the national development, (6) resources are not professional. In this case, need for social change which gives the direction that education is abasic approach in the change process. Education is life, therefore learning activities should be able to equip students with life skills (life competency) that appropriate with the environment and their lives

The main purpose of this study was to reveal the depositional environmentand the movement of coastline. This study was conducted in January 2013 innorthern part of Rangsang Island, Meranti District. Sediment samples were takenfrom 11 station sand analyzed by using mechanical granular method. The methodof remote sensing linear regression was used to determine the movement ofcoastline. The result of study show that the surface bottom sediment ischaracterized by sand and mud fractions, and is dominated by bottom characterof sand. The study area was a transitional area where waves and currents werepredicted to change frequently through not too significant. The currents strengthtend to move with the fluctuations. The average change of the coastline during thepast 13 years (2000 to 2013) was 7,455 m/yr with the greatest changes occurredat station 7, i.e. Kedabu Rapat Village, with 8.54 m/yr. The speed movement ofcoastline was marked by the destruction of land cover in the north along the coastof the Rangsang Island as indicated by destruction of mangrove forests andvegetation coast, the sinking of jetty, roads and houses as well as the erosion

This study was conducted in April 2016 in Kuala Kampar estuary watersPelalawan. The purpose of this study to determine the level of the distributionpattern of suspended solids in the Kampar River Estuary at high tide to the ebband flow toward the post method used in this research is survey method, namelythe study sample was obtained in the field are considered to represent the Islandwaters Mendol, then the samples were analyzed in laboratories to test TSS (TotalSuspended Solid) distribution pattern of total suspended solids in waters KamparRiver Estuary seen that the accumulation of suspended particles at low tide andthe tide heading toward downs, TSS distribution pattern is at the highest value atthe time of ebb tide toward which the values obtained range from 500-1500 mg / l,This indicates that the incoming flow pattern during ebb tide towards very high tothe north. While the TSS distribution pattern that went into the water at low tide tothe obtained value of 700-1100 mg / l where the distribution pattern heading southlocation research

Study of Marine Ecotourism Potential in Berhala Island Lingga Regency Riau Archipelago Province

The study was conducted in May-June 2015 in Berhala Island and its surrounding waters. The aim of this study was to know the marine ecotourism potential in Berhala Island as marine ecotourism destination in the future. The method used in this study was a survey method. The data observed consist of exploration results and inventory attractions, respondents of tourist representation and in situ measurement of water quality parameters. Berhala Island had huge potential of marine ecotourism and has a tremendous opportunity to be developed as a marine ecotourism region. It was shown on the suitability of marine ecotourism development, both assessed based on the criteria of supporting tour, SWOT analysis, calculation the value of WTA and WTP to the calculation of potential economic value . The potential economic value of marine tourism in Berhala Island is Rp. 52,159,000 (in the agenda of the annual holiday). This value was sufficient with still lack of facilities in the Berhala Island and potentially will grow if there are a implementation of the construction and development in Berhala Island region in the future

The study was conducted from January to February 2017 in Kampar River Estuary Area of Pelalawan District of Riau Province. Water sample analysis was done at the Chemical Oceanography Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine. This study aims to determine the distribution of TSS (total suspended solid) at high tide and low tide. The method used is survey method and determination of station point using pur-posive sampling. The results showed that the total suspended solid (TSS) distribution during tidal to low tide with the average value of the lowest TSS content at station 2 was 91 mg/l and the highest was in station 7 of 670 mg/l. At low tide, the average val-ue of the lowest TSS content at station 1 is 65 mg/l and the highest is at station 6 of 448 mg/l

Correlation between serum ferritin level and severity of dengue fever in a tertiary care center: an observational study

Background: Serum ferritin is an acute phase protein and elevated levels of ferritin have been associated with the pathogenesis of many inflammatory infectious viral diseases. Dengue is a mosquito-borne tropical infection that caused by the dengue virus. TNFα and interleukin 1α, another proinflammatory cytokine, transcriptionally induce the H-chain of ferritin. Therefore, serum ferritin can be used as a prognostic marker for dengue severity. Methods: This is a case control study conducted between July 2017 to December 2018.Results: On the 3rd day of fever, the median values of serum ferritin in dengue, fever without warning signs, with warning signs, and severe dengue were 513.5 ng/ml, 1002 ng/ml and 2352.4 ng/ml respectively. On the 7th day of fever, the median values were 474 ng/ml, 900 ng/ml, and 2949 ng/ml respectively. Serum ferritin 1247 ng/ml on day 3 has a sensitivity of 96.4% and specificity of 91% for prediction of severity. Area under the curve for serum ferritin on day 3 was 0.963 (95% confidence limit: 0.934-0.991). Serum ferritin 1050 ng/ml on day 7 has a sensitivity of 98.2 % and specificity of 93% for prediction of severity. Area under the curve for serum ferritin on day 7 was 0.977 (95% confidence limit: 0.957-0.998).Conclusions: Elevation of serum ferritin was significantly seen in those with severe dengue. Serum ferritin can be used as a prognostic marker for dengue severity. Day 3 serum ferritin can be used as a prognostic marker for dengue severity

Background: Coagulopathy is the most common manifestation in cases of haemotoxic snake bites. The most common coagulopathy associated with snake envenoming worldwide is venom-induced consumption coagulopathy (VICC). The existence of overlapping clinical syndromes of VICC and thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) in snake envenoming is the likely reason for the mistaken idea that snake bite causes disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). This study aims to look into the exact type coagulopathy in haemotoxic snake envenomation. Methods: Prospective observational study was conducted from January 2017 to January 2018 at a tertiary care centre in Odisha. Results: Out of 54, 23 (42.6%) cases were having DIC and 31 (57.4%) cases were not confirmed to be having DIC. In DIC group there was significantly delayed hospitalization (46.3±28.5 hours) when compared to group B (13.5±11.1 hours, p24 hours), early ASV administration are important to prevent full blown DIC and more serious complications. Most of the non DIC cases appears to be DIC in evolution but not confirmed to diagnosis by DIC scoring system as they reached hospital early before the development of frank DIC. TMA has not been found in this study. However further studies are needed to ascertain the exact cause of coagulopathy in non DIC group

Simulation of Generalized Space-Time Autoregressive with Exogenous Variables Model with X Variable of Type Metric

One of the models time series which also involves spatial aspects (spatio-temporal) is Generalized Space Time Autoregressive (GSTAR). Until now, GSTAR modelling don\u27t involve metric-type, which is called GSTARX. Parameter estimation for spatio temporal modeling is still limited by using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) which is less efficient because the residuals are correlated. Generalized Least Square (GLS) is one of the alternative methods for parameter estimation residuals are correlated. In this study would like to looking at the efficiency of GLS estimation method is compared with OLS to correlated data in GSTARX model. Simulation results show that the estimation GLS method is more efficient than using OLS if residual correlated
