    Large scale deployment of Micro Grids besides the advanced metering, demand response, reliable communications infrastructure set up has been incorporated into the technological road map of the future smart power grid. To congregate the operation and control needs of distributed energy resources in Micro-Grids the Multi-Agent System (MAS) seem to have splendid features. MAS is an emerging sub-field of Distributed Artificial Intelligence that has the potential to manage the changing face of electric power grid by inculcating intelligent agents into Micro-Grids. To create agents and implement MAS a framework, a platform is obligatory where in the agents reside and operate from. There is a wide range of Multi-agent platforms available on the web like Aglet, Grasshopper, DESIRE, Jadex, ZEUS, JADE etc. Each agent platform has to be evaluated according to the some criteria that have been mentioned in this endeavor. A brief relative appraisal of an assortment of agent platforms has been provided. According to various noteworthy researches the most used platform in micro-grid applications is JADE. So we have developed a system in which consumers are connected to different types of power plants via a Grid. The network load and plants are checked and controlled by the SCADA framework. This provides the uninterrupted power supply to the distributors with more reliable solution

    Nodular Posterior Scleritis: Clinico-Sonographic Characteristics and Proposed Diagnostic Criteria

    Purpose: To report the clinical and ultrasound features and outcomes of a series of nodular posterior scleritis. / Methods: Retrospective medical record review of 11 consecutive patients with nodular posterior scleritis. Patient demographics, ocular and systemic findings, ultrasound features, and final anatomical and visual outcomes were recorded. / Results: There were 9 females and 2 males (11 eyes) with mean age at presentation of 57 years (range, 30-84 years). Underlying systemic inflammatory disease was present in 73%. Symptoms included pain in 73% and blurred vision in 45%. A solitary amelanotic mass without the presence of lipofuscin was found in all cases. Associated ocular features included retinal pigment epithelial changes (67%), intraocular inflammation (55%), subretinal fluid (50%), macular edema (50%), and choroidal folds (30%). B-mode ultrasound showed a sclerochoroidal mass with high internal reflectivity (100%) of mean elevation of 4.1 mm. There was nodular thickening of the sclera (100%) and fluid in Tenon space or "T" sign (36%). A complete regression of the nodule after the treatment was observed only in 1 patient (11%) and partial regression in 4 patients (44%). / Conclusion: Nodular posterior scleritis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a single amelanotic choroidal mass showing high internal reflectivity on ultrasound B-scan. It can produce intraocular inflammation in 50% of the cases and may be painless in 25%. It has a high association with a systemic underlying disease

    Comparison of Power flow Enhancement for varying loads using different Controllers

    The power demand is continuously increasing due to population growth and changes in lifestyle. Due to shortage of generation and transmission facilities it is desired to increase the existing transmission line power transfer capacity in order to meet the rising demand. Fixed capacitors(FC) and TCSC FACTS device are used to increase the power flow of the line .The advantage in TCSC is that it provides variable compensation instead of fixed compensation by FC. In the present work the comparison of power flow enhancement by fixed capacitors , single TCSC and two modules of TCSC are done for three cases . The three cases are load is suddenly increased and decreased, load is suddenly decreased and increased, load is increased and then further increased. Various Power quality issues like voltage sag ,voltage swell are discussed. The THD voltage and receiving end voltage with different controllers/devices are shown. The power flow is more with TCSC in the system than with FC. The power flow is further enhanced using two modules of TCSC in the system

    Multiple Iteration DWT based Image Compression Algorithm for PSNR Improvement

    There is an increase in demand of the storage capacity in mobiles, laptops and other digital devices therefore external memory is required to include, but one has limitation of increasing amount of memory. Therefore, data and image compression techniques are in great requirement. Discrete wave remodel based mostly compression algorithms had been planned by several researchers and any goes on to boost output image quality and increase compression ratio. In our proposed work, in order to increase compression ratio only low frequency part is transmitted. Arithmetic coding is applied for further compression. In order to improve the compression ratio, iteration of DWT is performed and results show up to 35 times improvement in CR with satisfactory PSNR value. In order to improve the image quality (PSNR) further, median filters has been applied. Switching median filter and simple median filter has been studied for multiple iterations. Analysis on window size has also been done to find the best window size for PSNR improvement.

    Neuroinflammation and structural injury of the fetal ovine brain following intra-amniotic Candida albicans exposure.

    BackgroundIntra-amniotic Candida albicans (C. Albicans) infection is associated with preterm birth and high morbidity and mortality rates. Survivors are prone to adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes. The mechanisms leading to these adverse neonatal brain outcomes remain largely unknown. To better understand the mechanisms underlying C. albicans-induced fetal brain injury, we studied immunological responses and structural changes of the fetal brain in a well-established translational ovine model of intra-amniotic C. albicans infection. In addition, we tested whether these potential adverse outcomes of the fetal brain were improved in utero by antifungal treatment with fluconazole.MethodsPregnant ewes received an intra-amniotic injection of 10(7) colony-forming units C. albicans or saline (controls) at 3 or 5 days before preterm delivery at 0.8 of gestation (term ~ 150 days). Fetal intra-amniotic/intra-peritoneal injections of fluconazole or saline (controls) were administered 2 days after C. albicans exposure. Post mortem analyses for fungal burden, peripheral immune activation, neuroinflammation, and white matter/neuronal injury were performed to determine the effects of intra-amniotic C. albicans and fluconazole treatment.ResultsIntra-amniotic exposure to C. albicans caused a severe systemic inflammatory response, illustrated by a robust increase of plasma interleukin-6 concentrations. Cerebrospinal fluid cultures were positive for C. albicans in the majority of the 3-day C. albicans-exposed animals whereas no positive cultures were present in the 5-day C. albicans-exposed and fluconazole-treated animals. Although C. albicans was not detected in the brain parenchyma, a neuroinflammatory response in the hippocampus and white matter was seen which was characterized by increased microglial and astrocyte activation. These neuroinflammatory changes were accompanied by structural white matter injury. Intra-amniotic fluconazole reduced fetal mortality but did not attenuate neuroinflammation and white matter injury.ConclusionsIntra-amniotic C. albicans exposure provoked acute systemic and neuroinflammatory responses with concomitant white matter injury. Fluconazole treatment prevented systemic inflammation without attenuating cerebral inflammation and injury
