    Securing IoT with Trusted Authority Validation in Homomorphic Encryption Technique with ABE

    Existing security system includes levels of encryption. IoT access is very important aspect. Failure of IoT security can cause more risks of physical and logical damage. IoT contain both functionalities including physical or computational process. In proposed approach, levels of encryption are enhanced by increasing levels of security. User can access IoT through central trusted authority only. Instead of actual data like user credentials or I/O functionality of Internet of things, encrypted data is delivered. Trusted authorities are been involved in secured IoT access structure by considering their credentials. Trusted authority is selected randomly, based on randomized selection algorithm. Based on secured logic, decryption key will be delivered to the IoT through separate channel by trusted authority. Session management has been added by considering initial and waiting time after which all encryption or decryption data will be expired. Homomorphism is applied in encryption process where proposed logic is applied on considered data after which again RSA algorithm is applied. Overall, proposed logical approach, homomorphism, session management, secured access structure and trusted authority involvement improves the security level in IoT access process

    An Event Study Approach to Analyse the Impact of Novel Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) on Indian Hotel & Tourism Stocks Performance

    Covid 19 or the Novel Corona Virus outbreak in 2020 has disrupted the world and Indian economy. Tourism industry has suffered the most due to this outbreak. The hotel industry stocks have experience an average fall of twenty three percent within a month of the Covid 19 outbreak. With the help of event-study approach, an attempt has been made to analyse the effect of Covid 19 on Indian hotel stock price movements. Six publicly traded hotel and tourism companies experience a steep fall in their stock prices during the Covid 19 outbreak period. On and after the day the World Health Organisation declared Covid 19 a pandemic, Indian hotel stocks exhibited significant negative cumulative mean abnormal returns, indicating a significant impact of the Covid 19 outbreak on hotel stock performance. Empirical finding can enable Businesses to prepare themselves for alternate uses like isolation wards and save themselves from economic plight

    Solving kk-means on High-dimensional Big Data

    In recent years, there have been major efforts to develop data stream algorithms that process inputs in one pass over the data with little memory requirement. For the kk-means problem, this has led to the development of several (1+ε)(1+\varepsilon)-approximations (under the assumption that kk is a constant), but also to the design of algorithms that are extremely fast in practice and compute solutions of high accuracy. However, when not only the length of the stream is high but also the dimensionality of the input points, then current methods reach their limits. We propose two algorithms, piecy and piecy-mr that are based on the recently developed data stream algorithm BICO that can process high dimensional data in one pass and output a solution of high quality. While piecy is suited for high dimensional data with a medium number of points, piecy-mr is meant for high dimensional data that comes in a very long stream.     A Comparative Study of Supervised Machine Learning Algorithms for Fruit Prediction

    In this paper, machine learning techniques have been applied for the fruit image classification and prediction over a large dataset. In the implemented work, five models have been developed and their performances are compared in predicting the fruit names. These models are based on five supervised learning techniques i.e., Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Naive Bayes, and Softmax. The experimental results show that Support Vector Machine algorithm performs the best for large datasets and also Support Vector Machine is the best for small datasets. The results also reveal that reduction in the number of fruits reduces the accuracy’s of each algorithm

    Patiromer versus placebo to enable spironolactone use in patients with resistant hypertension and chronic kidney disease (AMBER): a phase 2, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial

    BACKGROUND: Spironolactone is effective at reducing blood pressure in patients with uncontrolled resistant hypertension. However, the use of spironolactone in patients with chronic kidney disease can be restricted by hyperkalaemia. We evaluated use of the potassium binder patiromer to allow more persistent use of spironolactone in patients with chronic kidney disease and resistant hypertension. METHODS: In this phase 2 multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we enrolled participants aged 18 years and older with chronic kidney disease (estimated glomerular filtration rate 25 to ≤45 mL/min per 1·73 m2) and uncontrolled resistant hypertension from 62 outpatient centres in ten countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Ukraine, France, Germany, South Africa, the UK, and the USA). Patients meeting all eligibility criteria at the final screening visit were stratified by local serum potassium measurement (4·3 to <4·7 mmol/L vs 4·7 to 5·1 mmol/L) and history of diabetes. Participants were randomly assigned (1:1) with an interactive web response system to receive either placebo or patiromer (8·4 g once daily), in addition to open-label spironolactone (starting at 25 mg once daily) and their baseline blood pressure medications. Participants, the study team that administered treatments and measured blood pressure, and the investigators were masked to assigned treatment groups. Dose titrations were permitted after 1 week (patiromer) and 3 weeks (spironolactone). The primary endpoint was the between-group difference at week 12 in the proportion of patients on spironolactone. Efficacy endpoints and safety were assessed in all randomised patients (intention to treat). The study was registered with Clinicaltrials.gov, NCT03071263. FINDINGS: Between Feb 13, 2017, and Aug 20, 2018, we screened 574 patients. 295 (51%) of 574 patients met all inclusion criteria and were randomly assigned to spironolactone in addition to double-blind treatment with either placebo (n=148) or patiromer (n=147). At week 12, 98 (66%) of 148 patients in the placebo group and 126 (86%) of 147 patients in the patiromer group remained on spironolactone (between-group difference 19·5%, 95% CI 10·0-29·0; p<0·0001). Adverse events were mostly mild or moderate in severity and occurred in 79 (53%) of 148 patients in the placebo group and 82 (56%) of 147 patients in the patiromer group. INTERPRETATION: In patients with resistant hypertension and chronic kidney disease, patiromer enabled more patients to continue treatment with spironolactone with less hyperkalaemia. Persistent spironolactone enablement in this population of patients has clinical relevance for the treatment of resistant hypertension. FUNDING: Relypsa, a Vifor Pharma Group Company

    Postdialysis blood pressure rise predicts long-term outcomes in chronic hemodialysis patients: a four-year prospective observational cohort study

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The blood pressure (BP) of a proportion of chronic hemodialysis (HD) patients rises after HD. We investigated the influence of postdialysis BP rise on long-term outcomes.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>A total of 115 prevalent HD patients were enrolled. Because of the fluctuating nature of predialysis and postdialysis BP, systolic BP (SBP) and diastolic BP before and after HD were recorded from 25 consecutive HD sessions during a 2-month period. Patients were followed for 4 years or until death or withdrawal.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Kaplan-Meier estimates revealed that patients with average postdialysis SBP rise of more than 5 mmHg were at the highest risk of both cardiovascular and all-cause mortality as compared to those with an average postdialysis SBP change between -5 to 5 mmHg and those with an average postdialysis SBP drop of more than 5 mmHg. Furthermore, multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that both postdialysis SBP rise of more than 5 mmHg (HR, 3.925 [95% CI, 1.410-10.846], <it>p </it>= 0.008) and high cardiothoracic (CT) ratio of more than 50% (HR, 7.560 [95% CI, 2.048-27.912], <it>p </it>= 0.002) independently predicted all-cause mortality. We also found that patients with an average postdialysis SBP rise were associated with subclinical volume overload, as evidenced by the significantly higher CT ratio (<it>p </it>= 0.008).</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>A postdialysis SBP rise in HD patients independently predicted 4-year cardiovascular and all-cause mortality. Considering postdialysis SBP rise was associated with higher CT ratio, intensive evaluation of cardiac and volume status should be performed in patients with postdialysis SBP rise.</p

    We shall consider the Sturm-Liouville boundary value problem y(m)(t)+λF(t,y(t),y′(t),…,y(q)(t))=0, t∈(0,1), y(k)(0)=0, 0≤k≤m−3, ζy(m−2)(0)−θy(m−1)(0)=0, ρy(m−2)(1)+δy(m−1)(1)=0 where m≥3, 1≤q≤m−2, and λ>0. It is noted that the boundary value problem considered has a derivative-dependent nonlinear term, which makes the investigation much more challenging. In this paper we shall develop a new technique to characterize the eigenvalues λ so that the boundary value problem has a positive solution. Explicit eigenvalue intervals are also established. Some examples are included to dwell upon the usefulness of the results obtained.Published versio

    Organizational virtual social networks (OVSN) reshape social structures due to their ability to strengthen social ties, to change power relations and to enable new forms of cooperation. Research in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has led to various approaches that analyze the impact of OVSN on organizations in terms of structure and behavior. Our study aims to analyze important features related to the structure of OVSN. It also aims to strengthen a network approach to analyze organizational phenomena such as working groups and connected individuals, as well as the impact of online networks in organizations. This study was based on the lines of approach described by Oinas-Kukkonen et al. (2010) and on the research carried out by Bobsin & Hoppen (2012) to understand the process of structuring OVSN. Our main results are an OVSN structure consisting of actors and roles, interactions, operating elements and articulating goals. We also analyzed some structural elements of networks which may contribute to the development of a network based approach to study organizational phenomena

    Penis auto-amputation and chasm of the lower abdominal wall due to advanced penile carcinoma: a case report

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Introduction</p> <p>Penile cancer is uncommon. When penile cancer is left untreated, at an advanced stage it can have tragic consequences for the patient.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>Our case report does not concern a new manifestation of penile cancer, but an interesting presentation with clinical significance that emphasizes the need to diagnose and treat penile cancer early. It is an unusual case of a neglected penile cancer in a 57-year-old Greek man that led to auto-amputation of the penis and a large chasm in the lower abdominal wall. The clinical staging was T4N3M0 and our patient was treated with a bilateral cutaneous ureterostomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Our patient died 18 months after his first admission in our clinic.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Emphasis must be placed on early diagnosis and treatment of penile cancer, so further development of the disease can be prevented.</p
