Estado Confusional Agudo após Corticoterapia Inalada
Background: The connection between corticotherapy and neuropsychiatric symptoms is
widely known, being one of the first questions
we need to assess when presenting with first
episode psychiatric symptoms or confusional
state.
Aims: To date, data on cases related to inhaled
corticotherapy and neuropsychiatric effects is
scarce. In this paper we describe a rare case in
a young woman.
Methods: The clinical case presented led us
to try to understand the data published on the
subject in order to discuss it in greater length.
Results and Conclusions: We present and
discuss a 27-year-old patient’s case, with no
previous psychiatric disease, who was admitted to our Psychiatric ward after the onset of
severe acute behavioural disturbance characterized by aggressiveness, visual and auditory
hallucinatory activity, misidentification and
altered conscience status. It was later found
that seven days earlier she had been prescribed
inhaled corticotherapy for a minor respiratory
infection. A few days after corticotherapy withdrawal, the clinical symptoms improved significantly.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Some boundary effects in quantum field theory
We have constructed a quantum field theory in a finite box, with periodic
boundary conditions, using the hypothesis that particles living in a finite box
are created and/or annihilated by the creation and/or annihilation operators,
respectively, of a quantum harmonic oscillator on a circle. An expression for
the effective coupling constant is obtained showing explicitly its dependence

Band inversion driven by electronic correlations at the (111) LaAlO/SrTiO interface
Quantum confinement at complex oxide interfaces establishes an intricate
hierarchy of the strongly correlated -orbitals which is widely recognized as
a source of emergent physics. The most prominent example is the (001)
LaAlO/SrTiO(LAO/STO) interface, which features a dome-shaped phase
diagram of superconducting critical temperature and spin-orbit coupling (SOC)
as a function of electrostatic doping, arising from a selective occupancy of
orbitals of different character. Here we study (111)-oriented LAO/STO
interfaces - where the three orbitals contribute equally to the
sub-band states caused by confinement - and investigate the impact of this
unique feature on electronic transport. We show that transport occurs through
two sets of electron-like sub-bands, and the carrier density of one of the sets
shows a non-monotonic dependence on the sample conductance. Using tight-binding
modeling, we demonstrate that this behavior stems from a band inversion driven
by on-site Coulomb interactions. The balanced contribution of all
orbitals to electronic transport is shown to result in strong SOC with reduced

Synergistic and Antagonistic Effects of Aromatics on the Agglomeration of Gas Hydrates
Surfactants are often used to stabilize aqueous dispersions. For example, surfactants can be used to prevent hydrate particles from forming large plugs that can clog, and sometimes rupture pipelines. Changes in oil composition, however dramatically affect the performance of said surfactants. In this work we demonstrate that aromatic compounds, dissolved in the hydrocarbon phase, can have both synergistic and antagonistic effects, depending on their molecular structure, with respect to surfactants developed to prevent hydrate agglomerations. While monocyclic aromatics such as benzene were found to disrupt the structure of surfactant films at low surfactant density, they are expelled from the interfacial film at high surfactant density. On the other hand, polycyclic aromatics, in particular pyrene, are found to induce order and stabilize the surfactant films both at low and high surfactant density. Based on our simulation results, polycyclic aromatics could behave as natural anti-agglomerants and enhance the performance of the specific surfactants considered here, while monocyclic aromatics could, in some cases, negatively affect performance. Although limited to the conditions chosen for the present simulations, the results, explained in terms of molecular features, could be valuable for better understanding synergistic and antagonistic effects relevant for stabilizing aqueous dispersions used in diverse applications, ranging from foodstuff to processing of nanomaterials and advanced manufacturing
The non-vanishing effect of detuning errors in dynamical decoupling based quantum sensing experiments
Characteristic dips appear in the coherence traces of a probe qubit when
dynamical decoupling (DD) is applied in synchrony with the precession of target
nuclear spins, forming the basis for nanoscale nuclear magnetic resonance
(NMR). The frequency of the microwave control pulses is chosen to match the
qubit transition but this can be detuned from resonance by experimental errors,
hyperfine coupling intrinsic to the qubit, or inhomogeneous broadening. The
detuning acts as an additional static field which is generally assumed to be
completely removed in Hahn echo and DD experiments. Here we demonstrate that
this is not the case in the presence of finite pulse-durations, where a
detuning can drastically alter the coherence response of the probe qubit, with
important implications for sensing applications. Using the electronic spin
associated with a nitrogen-vacancy centre in diamond as a test qubit system, we
analytically and experimentally study the qubit coherence response under CPMG
and XY8 dynamical decoupling control schemes in the presence of finite
pulse-durations and static detunings. Most striking is the splitting of the NMR
resonance under CPMG, whereas under XY8 the amplitude of the NMR signal is
modulated. Our work shows that the detuning error must not be neglected when
extracting data from quantum sensor coherence traces
Nonlinear Relativistic and Quantum Equations with a Common Type of Solution
Generalizations of the three main equations of quantum physics, namely, the
Schr\"odinger, Klein-Gordon, and Dirac equations, are proposed. Nonlinear
terms, characterized by exponents depending on an index , are considered in
such a way that the standard linear equations are recovered in the limit . Interestingly, these equations present a common, soliton-like,
travelling solution, which is written in terms of the -exponential function
that naturally emerges within nonextensive statistical mechanics. In all cases,

Two-dimensional superconductivity at the (111)LaAlO/SrTiO interface
We report on the discovery and transport study of the superconducting ground
state present at the (111)LaAlO/SrTiO interface. The superconducting
transition is consistent with a Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition and
its 2D nature is further corroborated by the anisotropy of the critical
magnetic field, as calculated by Tinkham. The estimated superconducting layer
thickness and coherence length are 10 nm and 60 nm, respectively. The results
of this work provide a new platform to clarify the microscopic details of
superconductivity at LaAlO/SrTiO interfaces, in particular in what
concerns the link with orbital symmetry.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Dinâmica espectro-temporal MODIS em plantios de paricá (Schizolobium parahyba var. amazonicum (Huber ex. Ducke) Barneby) associada a diferentes condições hÃdricas do solo na Amazônia brasileira.
As caracterÃsticas de absorção e reflectâncias nas faixas do vermelho e infravermelho próximo em dosséis, tanto de plantios como de vegetação natural, auxiliam na identificação de respostas espectrais em diversas condições de tempo e clima. Objetivou-se avaliar o comportamento espectral em plantios de paricá (Schizolobium parahyba var. amazonicum (Huber ex Ducke) Barneby) nos perÃodos de maior e de menor oferta hÃdrica, em Dom Eliseu, Pa. Foram analisados dados meteorológicos, balanços hÃdricos (CAD=300 mm) e respostas em NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) extraÃdos do sensor MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer). As imagens-Ãndice referentes aos meses de janeiro a dezembro foram processadas no software Envi 4.5 e retiradas amostras com base em dados de verdade terrestre. Os dados foram analisados estatisticamente, aplicando-se teste de média e análise de perfil por meio de técnicas uni e multivariadas. Verificou-se que existe tendência no vigor do paricá, com decrescimento de 0,85 a 0,68, nos meses de maior deficiência hÃdrica, em nÃvel de significância de 5 %. Conclui-se que o NDVI respondeu significativamente à condição hÃdrica do solo, em plantios de paricá, no Estado do Pará
