    Esta comunicação reporta alguns resultados de um projeto de investigação desenvolvido no âmbito de um estudo mais amplo que consistiu no design, implementação e avaliação do projeto de intervenção/formação desenvolvido numa EB2/3, situada no Norte de Portugal. Tratou-se de um projeto de formação e reflexão conjunta sobre processos de desenvolvimento profissional e práticas colaborativas. Uma das finalidades deste projeto era estimular a reflexão sobre diferentes aspetos: desenvolvimento profissional, formação e colaboração; a aprendizagem colaborativa no que diz respeito aos processos de desenvolvimento profissional individual e ao desenvolvimento da escola. A metodologia incluiu a organização de um conjunto de sessões de formação e de reflexão conjunta sobre processos de desenvolvimento profissional e práticas colaborativas. Os resultados sugerem que os contextos escolares não têm proporcionado as melhores condições para o desenvolvimento profissional (DP) dos professores, destacando-se a colaboração como uma prática ainda muito incipiente. Neste sentido, torna-se premente construir projetos de formação em contexto escolar para a colaboração e a promoção nas escolas de momentos, espaços e culturas colaborativas com vista a um DP mais efetivo e eficaz, como resposta aos desafios da docência do séc. Get PDF
    The aim of this study was to compare the magnitude and pattern of lower limb muscular activity during the sit-to-stand (STS) task with and without upper limb immobilization. The activity of six muscles from each lower limb (Rectus Femoris, Vastus Medialis, Biceps Femoris, Tibialis Anterior, Gastrocnemius Medialis and Soleus) were recorded while 19 young healthy participants performed the STS task with and without an arm sling on their dominant side. Myoelectric signals were collected using BioPlux Research device, and two Bertec force platforms were used to determine different phases of the STS task. The peak of muscular activity and muscle onset times were calculated, two general linear models with an alpha of 0.05 were used between the conditions with and without upper limb immobilization. We found no statistically significant differences in the onset of lower limb muscular activity, and we observed decreased peak of muscular activity in the Rectus Femoris at the immobilized side and an increased peak in the Vastus Medialis at the side opposite to the upper limb immobilized compared to the control condition. We did observe differences in the magnitude of ipsilateral Rectus Femoris and contralateral Vastus Medialis as a consequence of upper limb immobilization.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    El periodismo y los “mediadores públicos”: la co-producción de noticias

    Get PDF
    El ciudadano antes eliminado de un debate público articulado por el periodismo ahora va a intervenir y participar más eficazmente en el proceso de co-producción de contenidos para los medios de comunicación, en la función de mediador público. El objetivo es el estudio de este nuevo agente que aparece en la escena periodística a partir de la década de 2000 con el avance de los medios digitales y el acceso a las nuevas tecnologías. 'o entendemos que el agente pase a desempeñar la función del periodista, al menos en el contexto actual de transición de las tecnologías analógicas a las digitales. Sin embargo, su participación como uno de los protagonistas de la producción de noticias apunta cambios en la manera de hacer periodismo. Así que tenemos la intención de proponer algunas pistas para entender cómo se ha construido esta relación entre los mediadores públicos y los medios de comunicaciónThe citizen before away from the public debate articulated by journalism will now intervene and participate more effectively in the process of co-production of content for media, acting as public mediator. The goal is to study this new agent that appears on the journalistic scene with more evidence from the 2000s with the advancement of digital media and new technology. We do not understand that this agent passes to act like a journalist, at least in the current context of transition from analog to digital technologies. However, his participation as one of the protagonists of the news production points to changes in the ways of doing journalism. With this in view, we aim to propose some clues to understand how has been built this relationship between the mediators public and the media today

    OBJECTIVES: This study assessed the effect of cast rectifiers on the marginal misfit of cast UCLA abutments compared to premachined UCLA abutments. The influence of casting and porcelain baking on the marginal misfit of these components was also investigated. METHODS: Two groups were analyzed: test group - 10 cast UCLA abutments, finished with cast rectifier and submitted to ceramic application; control group - 10 premachined UCLA abutments, cast with noble metal alloy and submitted to ceramic application. Vertical misfit measurements were performed under light microscopy. In the test group, measurements were performed before and after the use of cast rectifiers, and after ceramic application. In the control group, measurements were performed before and after casting, and after ceramic application. Data were submitted to statistical analysis by ANOVA and Tukey's test (a= 5%). RESULTS: The use of cast rectifiers significantly reduced the marginal misfit of cast UCLA abutments (from 25.68mm to 14.83mm;

    OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the surface degradation effect of acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF) gel exposure on the glassy matrix ceramics as a function of time. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Disc-shaped ceramic specimens (N = 120, 10/per ceramic material) were prepared in stainless steel molds (inner diameter: 5 mm, height: 2 mm) using 6 dental ceramics: 3 indicated for ceramic-fused-to-metal (Vita Omega 900, Carmen and Vita Titankeramik), 2 for all-ceramic (Vitadur Alpha and Finesse® Low Fusing) and 1 for both types of restorations (IPS d.SIGN). The specimens were wet ground finished, ultrasonically cleaned and auto-glazed. All specimens were subjected to calculation of percentage of mass loss, surface roughness analysis and topographical description by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) before (0 min) and after exposure to 1.23 % APF gel for 4 min and 60 min representing short- and long-term etching effect, respectively. The data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA with repeated measures and Tukey's test (a=0.05). RESULTS: Significant effect of the type of the ceramics (p=0.0000, p=0.0031) and exposure time (p=0.0000) was observed in both surface roughness and percentage of mass loss values, respectively. The interaction factor between both parameters was also significant for both parameters (p=0.0904, p=0.0258). Both 4 min (0.44±0.1 - 0.81±0.2 mm) and 60 min (0.66±0.1 - 1.04±0.3 mm) APF gel exposure created significantly more surface roughness for all groups when compared to the control groups (0.33±0.2 - 0.68±0.2 mm) (p;0.05) but at 60 min exposure, IPS d.SIGN showed the highest percentage of mass loss (0.1151±0.11). The mean surface roughness for Vita Titankeramik (0.84±0.2 mm) and Finesse® Low Fusing (0.74.±0.2 mm) was significantly higher than those of the other ceramics (0.59±0.1 mm - 0.49±0.1 mm) and Vita Titankeramik (

    AbstractA series of 3-acetyl-2,5-disubstituted-2,3-dihydro-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives was synthesized and their activity screened in vitro against Staphylococcus aureus, Trypanosoma cruzi, and Candida albicans. The bioactivity was expressed as minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for S. aureus strains, and as fifty-percent inhibitory concentration (IC50) of parasite population growth for T. cruzi. A molecular modeling approach was performed to establish qualitative relationships regarding the biological data and the compounds’ physicochemical properties. The 5-(4-OC4H9Ph, 5l), and 5-(4-CO2CH3Ph, 5o) derivatives were the most active compounds for S. aureus ATCC 25923 (MIC=1.95–1.25μg/mL) and T. cruzi (IC50=7.91μM), respectively. Also, a preliminary evaluation against C. albicans involving some compounds was performed and the 5-(4-CH3Ph, 5e) derivative was the most active compound (MIC=3.28–2.95μg/mL). In this preliminary study, all synthesized 3-acetyl-2,5-disubstituted-2,3-dihydro-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives were active against all microorganisms tested

    Full text link
    Escherichia coli O157:H7 has been incriminated in food poisoning outbreaks and sporadic cases of hemorrhagic colitis and hemolytic uremic syndrome in many countries. Considering the high susceptibility of Minas Frescal cheese to contamination by E. coli O157:H7, the aim of this study was to determine the occurrence of this pathogen through PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and ELISA (VIDAS ECO O157®, bioMérieux, Lyon, France) test. Thirty cheese samples manufactured by artisan farmhouse producers were collected from open-air markets in Goiânia and thirty from industries under Federal Inspection located in Goiás State which trade their products in supermarkets in Goiânia. E. coli O157:H7 was detected in 6.67% samples collected in open air markets using ELISA, and 23,33% with PCR. The pathogen was not detected in samples from industries under Federal Inspection

    Correlation and Diagnosis of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Manifestations in Male or Female Genitalia and Oral Cavity

    The prevalence of the human papilloma virus (HPV) in the oral cavity and oropharynx has not been well elucidated yet. The aim of this study was to correlate the concomitance of prevalence of HPV in genitalia of men and women with or without HIV/Aids, having manifestations in the oral cavity. Dentist’s (DS) attention is justified by the increase in Condylomata acuminatum in the oral cavity and the possible correlation of manifestations in patients´ genitalia. When associated with seropositivity for HIV/Aids, it becomes an important cofactor increasing the possibility of manifestations of the disease in view of the diminished immunity of these patients. The prevalence and concomitance of the percentage of C. acuminatum lesions in genitalia were correlated with those in the oral cavity by using the following variables: gender, age, skin color, category of exposure, habits, general and oral diseases, presence or absence of xerostomia, T-CD4 lymphocytes, and viral load. The results showed the prevalence of 7 (17.95%) for those who presented concomitant genital/oral lesions. Both the experience and results must become public, aiming to disseminate knowledge about the degree of complexity of the epidemic and need for preventive measures to ameliorate propagation of the disease in the population
