    GalliformeSpectra: A Hen Breed Dataset

This article presents a comprehensive dataset featuring ten distinct hen breeds, sourced from various regions, capturing the unique characteristics and traits of each breed. The dataset encompasses Bielefeld, Blackorpington, Brahma, Buckeye, Fayoumi, Leghorn, Newhampshire, Plymouthrock, Sussex, and Turken breeds, offering a diverse representation of poultry commonly bred worldwide. A total of 1010 original JPG images were meticulously collected, showcasing the physical attributes, feather patterns, and distinctive features of each hen breed. These images were subsequently standardized, resized, and converted to PNG format for consistency within the dataset. The compilation, although unevenly distributed across the breeds, provides a rich resource, serving as a foundation for research and applications in poultry science, genetics, and agricultural studies. This dataset holds significant potential to contribute to various fields by enabling the exploration and analysis of unique characteristics and genetic traits across different hen breeds, thereby supporting advancements in poultry breeding, farming, and genetic research

Integrated Energy Management of Residential Halls at University of Dhaka by Using Energy Efficient Appliances and Solar PV System

    Get PDF
This paper analyses the electrical energy consumption of two residential halls at University of Dhaka and design the best approach to diminish the electrical energy consumption and reduce the carbon emission and achieve efficient energy utilization in the halls. Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall and Dr. Mohammad Sahidullah Hall were selected for a detailed study of electricity consumption. Series of data were taken to estimate the electrical energy consumption and the electrical energy losses across different loads. Afterwards with the results of electrical usage, an energy stability was made by considering the energy efficient electrical appliances along with a solar photovoltaic system to reduce the electrical energy wastage and reduce the carbon emission to maintain the environment clean. Overall energy losses can be minimized up to 40% and 41% at Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall and Dr. Mohammad Sahidullah Hall respectively with new energy efficient devices. A total of 43% and 44% energy consumption can be reduced at Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall and Dr. Mohammad Sahidullah Hall with the proposed new energy management system that implies to utilize solar energy using solar photovoltaic. The emission of carbon reduction estimate was about 302 tons and 290 tons of CO2 at Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall and Dr. Mohammad Sahidullah Hall respectively. The payback period of the investment to replace the electrical appliances with energy efficient appliances and to install a solar photovoltaic system is 2.45 years

A compact micro strip patch antenna has been investigated for 5G mobile application. The antenna is especially designed for 5G mobile communication. The antenna is excited by inset feeding technique. The antenna resonates at 38.256 GHz. Proposed patch configuration shows improved bandwidth of 10 GHz with the offset transmission line feed. The antenna was fabricated using a single FR4 substrate of dimension 2.69Ă—4.55Ă—1.6 mm3

Customers’ Attitude Determinants and Positioning of Different Boutique Houses: A Study on Some Selected Boutique Houses in Dhaka City of Bangladesh

    Get PDF
The people of Bangladesh are now becoming fashion conscious. The demands for product of boutique houses are increasing. Customers are leaning towards local and traditional cloths and accessories and they prefer local boutique houses. This paper examines the customers’ attitude determinants for boutique houses and positioning of different boutique houses. Customers of Rang, Shadakalo, Bibiana, Anjans, Nipun and K-kraft have been surveyed for the study.  A sample of 50 respondents has been selected based on judgmental sampling for the study. Multiple Regression analysis and multidimensional scaling technique have been conducted for the purpose of the analysis. The finding of the research suggest that price, location, brand name, staff behavior, and exclusive collection of cloths are the variables that affect the customer’s attitude towards boutique houses. Keywords: Boutique House, Customers’ attitude, Positionin

Design & Implementation of a Low Cost Data Logger for Solar Home System

    Get PDF
The demand of electric power is increasing gradually with the advancement of modern technology & engineering. Because the demand of electricity in urban areas or in industrial zones is large in amount & also more important than the rural areas, there exists a shortage of electric power supply facilities for rural households or remote location from the cities. In this case, Solar Energy is a promising solution to meet the demand for electricity services of rural areas in developing countries like Bangladesh. The effectiveness & stability of small PV systems for rural development is needed to be monitored for successful installment of Solar Panel. In order to analyze the system & modify it for cost reduction a data capturing unit should be constructed that can store the voltages & currents at three different terminals. A microcontroller operated Smart Data Logger can perform this work with high accuracy & precision maintaining the system cost much less than the conventional system. This paper deals with the design and implementation of a low cost data logger for solar home system. An experimental set up is designed and implemented and the paper illustrates the working principle, data observation and analysis, limitations, and future aspects of a low cost data logger for solar home system

Cross linked Core-shell Silica Nanoparticles Mechanical, Structural & Viscoelastic Behavior

    Get PDF
Shell cross-linked core-shell nanoparticles (SCCSNs) were prepared via miniemulsion polymerization of styrene in the presence of silane modified inorganic silica. The polystyrene (PS) shell of 69.8% in weight fraction was cross-linked using divinylbenzene. SCCSNs were spherical with a diameter distribution from 37 to 96 nm determined by dynamic light scattering. Dynamic rheology of SCCSNs suspended in PS/toluene solution was compared with that of suspensions of naked silica. The critical strain for onset of rheological nonlinearity was independent of SCCSN concentration above a concentration threshold, which differs from the silica suspensions. Linear dynamic rheological investigation revealed that SCCSN suspensions with a PS volume fraction of 25% were fluid-like at low particle concentrations while suspensions containing 4.5 vol% SCCSNs formed a gel-like structure. On the contrary, the silica suspensions with 20.0 vol% PS underwent a fluid-to-solid-like transition with increasing silica concentration. Reasons for the different rheological behaviors of the naked silica and SCCSN suspensions are discussed

    Get PDF
An in vitro experiment was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of antibiotics at different concentrations on growth and development of Trichoderma harzianum, Phytophthora infestans, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Corticium theae and Fusarium oxysporum found in tea plantation. Three samples viz. sample-1 (Validamycin 60% w/w) @ 45, 60 and 75 ppm, sample-2 (Hexaconazole 2.5% w/w+Validamycin 8.5% w/w) @ 55, 82.5 and 110 ppm and sample-3 (Streptomycin 9% w/w+Tetracyclin hydrochloride 1% w/w) @ 50, 75 and 100 ppm were tested. The result showed that Antibiotics have inhibitory effects on T. harzianum. Unsatisfactory performances in terms of per cent growth inhibition (<80) were recorded on crop infecting fungi. C. theae treated with sample-1 @ 75 ppm and C. gloeosporioides with sample-2 @ 110 ppm had shown maximum 25.50 and 54.19 per cent growth inhibition, respectively. The highest 70.53 per cent growth inhibition of C. theae was observed in sample-3 treated @ 100 ppm. Considering the findings it can be recommended not to use above antibiotics with their respective concentrations in plant agriculture for controlling diseases caused by the said fungi
