There is a growing and worldwide appreciation that the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises play a catalytic role in the development process of most economies. This position gets reflected in the form of their increasing number and rising proportion in the overall product manufacturing, exports, manpower employment, technical innovations and promotion of entrepreneurial skills. This paper attempts to look at the changing definition of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the role these enterprises are playing in the growth story of our economy. In India, the MSME sector is the second largest manpower employer, after agriculture and the output from this sector alone constitutes 40 percent share of the value added in the manufacturing sector and one third of national exports. The importance of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSME) for its contribution in the Indian economy growth is a matter of record and needs no further elaboration. However, with the changing focus from economic growth to inclusive growth, MSME sector’s role in the socio economic development of India needs to be understood, explored and facilitated. The opportunity in MSMEs exists, however, the fact remains that most of the funding goes to the larger and more solvent MSMEs and to those who have business linkages with large corporate. The banks compete with each other to grant loans to the top rung MSMEs

The concern towards the increasing challenges of sustainable agriculture made the researchers towards significant technological development and innovations in recent years. In particular, Nanotechnology offers potential solutions to improve agricultural production assuring sustainability. The incorporation of nanotechnology as a means of nano pesticides delivers the pesticides appropriately i.e., targeted delivery of pesticides by lowering the indiscriminate use of conventional pesticides. The assets of a nanoencapsulated pesticide formulation are controlled releasing properties with enhanced solubility, specificity, permeability and stability. They provide in-built switches to control the release and subsequent availability of pesticides to be used effectively over a given period of time and their design enables them to resist the severe environmental processes such as leaching, evaporation, photolytic hydrolytic and microbial degradation over conventional pesticides. This review provides fundamental information to critically assess the significant role of nanotechnology for the encapsulation of pesticides. © 2020 Author(s)

Objective: The objective of this study was to develop and validate rapid, specific, sensitive, and precise reverse-phase ultra performance liquid chromatography (RP-UPLC) method for the quantitative determination of grazoprevir and elbasvir, as there are no official monograph and no analytical method by UPLC.Methods: Chromatographic separation was achieved on a Waters Acquity UPLC HSS C18 (2.1 mm × 100 mm, 1.8 micron) column with a 45:55 (v/v) mixture of 0.1% orthophosphoric acid (pH 2.8) and acetonitrile as a mobile phase, thermostated at 30°C with a short run time of 3.0 min. Results: The retention times were 0.73 and 1.29 min for grazoprevir and elbasvir, respectively. Quantification is achieved with TUV detection at 254 nm over the concentration range of 25–150 μg/ml for grazoprevir and for elbasvir 12.5–75 μg/ml, with a correlation coefficient of 0.999 and 0.999, respectively. The developed method was validated according to the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines with respect to linearity, accuracy, precision, specificity, and robustness. Forced degradation study was extended out under acidic, alkaline, oxidative, photolytic, and thermal conditions to demonstrate the stability-indicating capability of the developed UPLC method. The degradation products were well resolved from the main peak, thus proved the stability-indicating power of the method. The results of the analysis were validated statistically. Conclusion: The method is precise, accurate, linear, robust, and fast. The short retention time allows the analysis of a large number of samples in a short period of time and, therefore, should be cost-effective for routine analysis in the pharmaceutical industry

Chief Justice William Rehnquist: His Law-and-Order Legacy and Impact on Criminal Justice

In this article, we explore Chief Justice Rehnquist’s criminal justice decisions through an empirical analysis of the Court’s decision-making tendencies for the most recent natural court and a review of selected criminal justice decisions written by Justice Rehnquist throughout his career. To start, we limit the analysis, with only two exceptions, to decisions actually written by Justice Rehnquist. Although Chief Justice Rehnquist, in that position, had an important role in leading other justices to agree with him by assigning cases, we gleaned a substantial amount of information regarding his decisional patterns and policy preferences by analyzing the opinions he personally authored. The focus of this inquiry, then, is Justice Rehnquist’s actual opinions and not his votes in other cases. This empirical analysis is complemented and given context by a discussion of the overall thrust of criminal justice cases decided by the Court in the last decade...In Section II we provide a brief biographical sketch of Justice Rehnquist’s education and career. We then analyze the criminal justice decisions of the most recent Rehnquist Court using cases from 1995-2005 in Section III. This time frame captures Rehnquist’s last natural court with the exception of the first term. Although Justice Breyer–the last member to join the Court of interest here–served a full term in 1994, we do not include the 1994-1995 Term to avoid the risk that Breyer’s performance (and the Court’s more general decision patterns) might have been distorted by the “freshman effect.” In Section IV we extend the period under review and examine some of Justice Rehnquist’s written opinions, both as an Associate Justice and as Chief Justice. In the final section, we discuss the overall impact of Justice Rehnquist’s decisions on criminal justice issues and revisit the characterization of Rehnquist as central to a “law and order” shift

Objective: The primary goal of the present work was to formulate solid self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (S-SEDDS) in order to improve the solubility of the highly lipophilic antihypertensive drug, ramipril. Methods: SEDDS are generally liquid form preparations obtained by homogeneously mixing oils, surfactants and co-surfactants along with drug component. Based on solubility studies Capmul PG8 NF, Gelucire 44/14 and Transcutol P were selected as oil, surfactant, co-surfactant respectively in order to prepare liquid SEDDS (L-SEDDS). Nine different liquid SEDDS were prepared and subjected to various evaluation tests in order to obtain optimized L-SEDDS. Finally, the optimized formulation was converted to S-SEDDS by physical adsorption technique using an inert carrier. Further, S-SEDDS were also subjected to solid state characterization. Results: Out of 9 different L-SEDDS, S9 formulation was optimized as it formed thermodynamically stable emulsion without any drug precipitation and phase separation on storage and also showed least globule size (22.56 nm). The optimized formulation was loaded onto inert carrier (Sylysia FCP 350) to obtain S-SEDDS. S-SEDDS showed acceptable flow properties. They were further processed for solid state characterization such as XRD, DSC and SEM and the results confirmed the transformation of native crystalline nature of drug to an amorphous state. FTIR analysis also confirmed no drug-excipient interaction. S-SEDDS showed improved in vitro dissolution behaviour of ramipril over that of pure drug. Conclusion: Ramipril S-SEDDS retained emulsification characteristics of L-SEDDS. Further, S-SEDDS was encapsulated in hard gelatin capsules and this formulation proved to have improved solubility for ramipril

Convolutional recurrent neural network with template based representation for complex question answering

    Get PDF
Complex Question answering system is developed to answer different types of questions accurately. Initially the question from the natural language is transformed to an internal representation which captures the semantics and intent of the question. In the proposed work, internal representation is provided with templates instead of using synonyms or keywords. Then for each internal representation, it is mapped to relevant query against the knowledge base. In present work, the Template representation based Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network (T-CRNN) is proposed for selecting answer in Complex Question Answering (CQA) framework. Recurrent neural network is used to obtain the exact correlation between answers and questions and the semantic matching among the collection of answers. Initially, the process of learning is accomplished through Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) which represents the questions and answers separately. Then the representation with fixed length is produced for each question with the help of fully connected neural network. In order to design the semantic matching between the answers, the representation of Question Answer (QA) pair is given into the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). Finally, for the given question, the correctly correlated answers are identified with the softmax classifier
