ABSTRACT Ivan Reza, L100100099, The Strategy Of Pas Fm Radio In Order To Increase The Working Quality Of The Announcers To Maintain The Radio Existence (Qualitative Descriptive Study Communication Strategy Of Pas FM Solo To Increase Working Quality Of The Annoucers To Maintain The Radio Existence), Paper: Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Communication And Information Technology, Surakarta Muhammadiyah University. 2015. Communication strategy is a planning of an organization management in order to reach the goals that have been organized. The Communication Strategy itself is the combination between the communication planning and communication management to reach its goals. A mass medium, like a radio, has management structure, that is the management of announcing medium. Nowadays, the medium, like a radio, is getting rubbed down by other dominated media. Because the radio is mobile and it can be listened when the people are having activities, therefore, this kind of medium is still within most of the fun’s heart, especially the listeners’. Therefore, to maintain the total listeners, it needs the existence of management strategy, e. g. to sharpen the ability continuously and to increase the announcers’ quality. The subjects of this research were all persons who were involved in the ways of announcing process, starting from the top structure position of Pas FM Solo, that was the manager station, traffic or someone who was responsible with the announcing process, the producer who monitored and prepared the materials during the announcing, up to the announcers who announced the information which had been prepared. This research used the method of qualitative descriptive study. The descriptive study was used to deepen more the information of the subject studied. From this research, it was resulted that the communication strategy carried out by the management of Pas FM Solo and the announcers was by approaching himself to the announcers and continuously giving directives of the announcing techniques as a routine in order that the output quality of the announcers was always maintained, appropriate to the standard given by the producer. By so doing, the existence of Pas FM Solo was always existed in the hearts of the listeners. Keyword: Communication Strategy, Radio, Increasing the Announcers’ Quality, Qualitative Descriptive

The article originally appeared in Journal of Applied Physics 74, 3144 (1993) and may be found at http://jap.aip.org/resource/1/japiau/v74/i5/p3144_s1.The enthalpies of formation of metastable fcc Ag‐Cu solid solutions, produced by ball milling of elemental powders, were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. Experimental thermodynamic data for these metastable alloys and for the equilibrium phases are compared with both calculation of phase diagrams (CALPHAD) and atomistic simulation predictions. The atomistic simulations were performed using the free‐energy minimization method (FEMM). The FEMM determination of the equilibrium Ag‐Cu phase diagram and the enthalpy of formation and lattice parameters of the metastable solid solutions are in good agreement with the experimental measurements. CALPHAD calculations made in the same metastable regime, however, significantly overestimate the enthalpy of formation. Thus, the FEMM is a viable alternative approach for the calculation of thermodynamic properties of equilibrium and metastable phases, provided reliable interatomic potentials are available. The FEMM is also capable of determining such properties as the lattice parameter which are not available from CALPHAD calculations.  Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/70470/2/JAPIAU-74-5-3144-1.pd

Evaluating the machining characteristics of oil palm lumber

    Get PDF
A series of machining experiments were carried out using a CNC multi-function machine, to evaluate the sawing, routing and boring as well as the tool wearing properties of the oil palm lumber. The result found that the resultant machined surface of the oil palm lumber of higher densities (>500 kg m-3) is comparable to that of solid Rubberwood. Further, it was also found that the machining properties of oil palm lumber was markedly improved when machining at high cutting speeds, which in turn significantly reduced the incidence of machining defects such as fiber tear out and chip out. However, with higher cutting speeds, accelerated tool wear is inevitable and coupled with the fact that the oil palm lumber is markedly abrasive due to its high silica content, the resulting tooling cost is a concern. Hence, the development of new tooling for the machining oil palm lumber is recommended. Despite this shortcoming, the lower cost and environmental friendly reputation of the oil palm lumber should encourage wider utilization of the material in the furniture industry

International audienceThis paper presents a novel cooperative USV-UAV platform to form a powerful combination, which offers foundations for collaborative task executed by the coupled USV-UAV systems. Adjustable buoys and unique carrier deck for the USV are designed to guarantee landing safety and transportation of UAV. The deck of USV is equipped with a series of sensors, and a multi-ultrasonic joint dynamic positioning algorithm is introduced for resolving the positioning problem of the coupled USV-UAV systems. To fulfill effective guidance for the landing operation of UAV, we design a hierarchical landing guide point generation algorithm to obtain a sequence of guide points. By employing the above sequential guide points, high quality paths are planned for the UAV. Cooperative dynamic positioning process of the USV-UAV systems is elucidated, and then UAV can achieve landing on the deck of USV steadily. Our cooperative USV-UAV platform is validated by simulation and water experiments. Index Terms-USV-UAV platform. Multi-ultrasonic joint dynamic positioning algorithm. Biosensors hold great potential for revolutionizing personalized medicine and environmental monitoring. Their construction is the key factor which depends on either manufacturing techniques or robust sensing materials to improve efficacy of the device. Functional graphene is an attractive choice for transducing material due to its various advantages in interfacing with biorecognition elements. Graphene and its derivatives such as graphene oxide (GO) are thus being used extensively for biosensors for monitoring of diseases. In addition, graphene can be patterned to a variety of structures and is incorporated into biosensor devices such as microfluidic devices and electrochemical and plasmonic sensors. Among biosensing materials, GO is gaining much attention due to its easy synthesis process and patternable features, high functionality, and high electron transfer properties with a large surface area leading to sensitive point-of-use applications. Considering demand and recent challenges, this perspective review is an attempt to describe state-of-the-art biosensors based on functional graphene. Special emphasis is given to elucidating the mechanism of sensing while discussing different applications. Further, we describe the future prospects of functional GO-based biosensors for health care and environmental monitoring with a focus on additive manufacturing such as 3D printing

A study was carried out to compare the volume recovery and product quality of two different sawing techniques in the conversion of rubberwood which is plagued with low yield. The study was undertaken in a sawmill in Peninsular Malaysia, using the conventional live sawing process and the Saw Dry and Rip (SDR) process. The results showed that the SDR process resulted in higher volume recovery as well as higher product quality, compared to the conventional live sawing process. Further, the application of high temperature drying for rubberwood sawn material resulted in lower drying defects and together with the SDR process, resulted in a more economical solution for the conversion of rubberwood. Accordingly, a survey of the current industrial practices as rubberwood 125 saw mills revealed that rubberwood sawmilling is plagued with a low yield of 27% and the SDR process, if applied offers a significant improvement both in terms of volume recovery as well as product quality. Therefore, the results of this study have far reaching industrial implications on the sawing and machining of rubberwood in the South East Asian region

The purpose of this paper is to numerically investigate the fatigue life and the fatigue crack growth path of 2024 aluminum plate riveted joints. For this purpose, according to field observations, the parameters affecting fatigue life are obtained. Relevant geometric parameters such as rivet shank length, hole diameter and dimensional tolerances, as well as the location pattern of the rivets and the material of the rivet joints are studied. In this study, modeling is performed to calculate the equivalent plastic strain using the finite element method. For this purpose, a three-dimensional elastoplastic model is used for simulation. The information obtained from the finite element method in this study made it possible to place the rivets in this type of joint for use in high safety structures such as the aerospace industry. Given the importance of the problem of crack growth in 2024 aluminum plates, having the geometrical and physical parameters of the problem, the goal is to achieve the exact path of crack growth and fatigue life of riveted joints. Fatigue crack growth simulation is performed on the samples using the boundary element method. The stress intensity factor for different loading modes is determined using the boundary element method. The results showed that the geometric parameters and the rivet material have a significant effect on fatigue cracking in aluminum plates
