    Get PDF
A high performance fan stage of pressure ratio 2.0 is being designed and developed under a joint programme between Chinese Aeronautical Establishment (CAE) China and National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bangalore, India.. Special features of the aerodynamic design are i) forward blade sweep and lean to increase the ability to bear intake distortion ii) reverse camber fan tip to reduce losses via pre compression iii) low aspect ratio of the blades to maximize stall margin. The blade will be fabricated using laminates of Carbon/Epoxy composites with tip shroud so as to limit the blade stress and deformation. Stress analysis was carried out using MSC/NASTRAN Finite Element Package. The fan stage has undergone a series of design improvements. Comparison of typical results obtained at NAL and BUAA is shown for the final version of the fan stage TTT98-29

Hypertension is one of the diseases that result in high morbidity. Hypertension would give symptoms that may cause a target organ\u27s failure such as the brain (stroke), heart blood vessels (coronary heart disease),and heart muscle (left ventricular hypertrophy). Miss (E), female, 53 years old, with hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Searched causes hypertension and diabetes mellitus and their affected family members. Analysis of causes, such as underlying disease or other risk factors that cause a patient\u27s disease is a derivative of one of the family members and risk factors such as obesity and lack of exercise awareness. Furthermore, given the management of the disease nonmedikamentosa and medical. Educated patients about the disease and the importance of diet, exercise, and compliance in taking the drug. Showed symptoms such as headache disappeared, blood pressure and sugar levels in patients stabilized. The cause of hypertension in this patients is essential hypertension who are most likely derived from genetic factors. Management of hypertension of these patients achieved the target blood pressure wasdesired, thus preventing further complications of hypertension and patient education to avoid precipitating factors of hypertension

Discovering conversational topics and emotions associated with Demonetization tweets in India

Social media platforms contain great wealth of information which provides us opportunities explore hidden patterns or unknown correlations, and understand people's satisfaction with what they are discussing. As one showcase, in this paper, we summarize the data set of Twitter messages related to recent demonetization of all Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes in India and explore insights from Twitter's data. Our proposed system automatically extracts the popular latent topics in conversations regarding demonetization discussed in Twitter via the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) based topic model and also identifies the correlated topics across different categories. Additionally, it also discovers people's opinions expressed through their tweets related to the event under consideration via the emotion analyzer. The system also employs an intuitive and informative visualization to show the uncovered insight. Furthermore, we use an evaluation measure, Normalized Mutual Information (NMI), to select the best LDA models. The obtained LDA results show that the tool can be effectively used to extract discussion topics and summarize them for further manual analysis.Comment: 6 pages, 11 figures. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1608.02519 by other authors; text overlap with arXiv:1705.08094 by other author

The research was conducted at Screen house Experiment Berastagi at ± 1340 m asl from April untilJuly 2013 using split plot design with main plot, i.e. organic liquid fertilizer concentration (0, 2, 4,and 6 mL/L) and sub plot is tuber weight difference (≤ 3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 g). Parameter observedwere plant height, duration of green leaves, tuber weight per plant, weight tuber per plot, and tubergrade percentage. The result showed organic liquid fertilizer treatment significantly defend thechlorophyll leaves (duration of green leaves). Tuber weight difference treatment significantlyincrease plant height, main stem number, tuber number per plant, weight tuber per plot and tubergrade percentage on 10,1 – 20 g. The interaction of two factor significantly increase tuber gradepercentage on ≤ 5 g. The best result was showed by organic liquid fertilizer concentration 6 mL/Land tuber weight 9-12 g._______________________________________________________________________________

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) reference ranges have not been well established in Chinese. Here we determined normal cardiac and aortic reference ranges in healthy Singaporean Chinese and investigated how these data might affect clinical interpretation of CMR scans. In 180 healthy Singaporean Chinese (20 to 69 years old; males, n = 91), comprehensive cardiac assessment was performed using the steady state free precision technique (3T Ingenia, Philips) and images were analysed by two independent observers (CMR42, Circle Cardiovascular Imaging). Measurements were internally validated using standardized approaches: left ventricular mass (LVM) was measured in diastole and systole (with and without papillary muscles) and stroke volumes were compared in both ventricles. All reference ranges were stratified by sex and age; and indeterminate/borderline regions were defined statistically at the limits of the normal reference ranges. Results were compared with clinical measurements reported in the same individuals.LVM was equivalent in both phases (mean difference 3.0 ± 2.5 g; P = 0.22) and stroke volumes were not significantly different in the left and right ventricles (P = 0.91). Compared to females, males had larger left and right ventricular volumes (P  0.05 for all measures). In both sexes, age correlated negatively with left and right ventricular volumes; and positively with aortic sinus and sinotubular junction diameters (P < 0.0001 for all). There was excellent agreement in indexed stroke volumes in the left and right ventricles (0.1±5.7 mL/m2, 0.7±6.2 mL/m2, respectively), LVM (0.6±6.4 g/m2), atrial sizes and aortic root dimensions between values reported in clinical reports and our measured reference ranges.Comprehensive sex and age-corrected CMR reference ranges at 3T have been established in Singaporean Chinese. This is an important step for clinical practice and research studies of the heart and aorta in Asia

Tracing the early development of harmful algal blooms with the aid of Lagrangian coherent structures

Several theories have been proposed to explain the development of harmful algal blooms (HABs) produced by the toxic dinoflagellate \emph{Karenia brevis} on the West Florida Shelf. However, because the early stages of HAB development are usually not detected, these theories have been so far very difficult to verify. In this paper we employ simulated \emph{Lagrangian coherent structures} (LCSs) to trace the early location of a HAB in late 2004 before it was transported to an area where it could be detected by satellite imagery, and then we make use of a population dynamics model to infer the factors that may have led to its development. The LCSs, which are computed based on a surface flow description provided by an ocean circulation model, delineate past and future histories of boundaries of passively advected fluid domains. The population dynamics model determines nitrogen in two components, nutrients and phytoplankton, which are assumed to be passively advected by the simulated surface currents. Two nearshore nutrient sources are identified for the HAB whose evolution is found to be strongly tied to the simulated LCSs. While one nutrient source can be associated with a coastal upwelling event, the other is seen to be produced by river runoff, which provides support to a theory of HAB development that considers nutrient loading into coastal waters produced by human activities as a critical element. Our results show that the use of simulated LCSs and a population dynamics model can greatly enhance our understanding of the early stages of the development of HABs.Comment: Submitted to JGR-Ocean

Grey matter volume correlates with virtual water maze task performance in boys with androgen excess

Major questions remain about the specific role of testosterone in human spatial navigation. We tested 10 boys (mean age 11.65 years) with an extremely rare disorder of androgen excess (Familial Male Precocious Puberty, FMPP) and 40 healthy boys (mean age 12.81 years) on a virtual version of the Morris Water Maze task. In addition, anatomical magnetic resonance images were collected for all patients and a subsample of the controls (n=21) after task completion. Behaviourally, no significant differences were found between both groups. However, in the MRI analyses, grey matter volume (GMV) was correlated with performance using voxel-based morphometry (VBM). Group differences in correlations of performance with GMV were apparent in medial regions of the prefrontal cortex as well as the middle occipital gyrus and the cuneus. By comparison, similar correlations for both groups were found in the inferior parietal lobule. These data provide novel insight into the relation between testosterone and brain development and suggest that morphological differences in a spatial navigation network covary with performance in spatial ability.
