Probing of X, Y, Z exotics with hadron and heavy ion collisions
The possibility of selected studies of heavy exotic hadrons called X, Y, Z states is considered. The topic includes detailed analysis of their strong, weak and electromagnetic decays containing cc¯ pair, physics simulations and event
reconstruction at NICA facilit
Performances and stability of a 2.4 ton Gd organic liquid scintillator target for antineutrino detection
In this work we report the performances and the chemical and physical
properties of a (2 x 1.2) ton organic liquid scintillator target doped with Gd
up to ~0.1%, and the results of a 2 year long stability survey. In particular
we have monitored the amount of both Gd and primary fluor actually in solution,
the optical and fluorescent properties of the Gd-doped liquid scintillator
(GdLS) and its performances as a neutron detector, namely neutron capture
efficiency and average capture time. The experimental survey is ongoing, the
target being continuously monitored. After two years from the doping time the
performances of the Gd-doped liquid scintillator do not show any hint of
degradation and instability; this conclusion comes both from the laboratory
measurements and from the "in-tank" measurements. This is the largest stable
Gd-doped organic liquid scintillator target ever produced and continuously
operated for a long period
Quantum Phase Transition in the Frustrated Heisenberg Antiferromagnet
Using the J_1-J_2 model, we present a description of quantum phase transition
from Neel ordered to the spin-liquid state based on the modified spin wave
theory. The general expression for the gap in the spectrum in the spin-liquid
phase is presented.Comment: 8 pages of REVTeX 3.0, one PostScript file appended (Eq. 15

Lifshitz quantum phase transitions and Fermi surface transformation with hole doping in high- superconductors
We study the doping evolution of the electronic structure in the normal phase
of high- cuprates. Electronic structure and Fermi surface of cuprates with
single CuO layer in the unit cell like LaSrCuO have been
calculated by the LDA+GTB method in the regime of strong electron correlations
(SEC) and compared to ARPES and quantum oscillations data. We have found two
critical concentrations, and , where the Fermi surface
topology changes. Following I.M. Lifshitz ideas of the quantum phase
transitions (QPT) of the 2.5-order we discuss the concentration dependence of
the low temperature thermodynamics. The behavior of the electronic specific
heat is similar to the Loram and Cooper
experimental data in the vicinity of .Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure
Measurement of the solar neutrino capture rate with gallium metal
The solar neutrino capture rate measured by the Russian-American Gallium
Experiment (SAGE) on metallic gallium during the period January 1990 through
December 1997 is 67.2 (+7.2-7.0) (+3.5-3.0) SNU, where the uncertainties are
statistical and systematic, respectively. This represents only about half of
the predicted Standard Solar Model rate of 129 SNU. All the experimental
procedures, including extraction of germanium from gallium, counting of 71Ge,
and data analysis are discussed in detail.Comment: 34 pages including 14 figures, Revtex, slightly shortene
Neutrino conversions in random magnetic fields and from the Sun
The magnetic field in the convective zone of the Sun has a random small-scale
component with the r.m.s. value substantially exceeding the strength of a
regular large-scale field. For two Majorana neutrino flavors two
helicities in the presence of a neutrino transition magnetic moment and nonzero
neutrino mixing we analyze the displacement of the allowed ()-parameter region reconciled for the SuperKamiokande(SK) and
radiochemical (GALLEX, SAGE, Homestake) experiments in dependence on the r.m.s.
magnetic field value , or more precisely, on a value assuming the
transition magnetic moment . In contrast to RSFP in
regular magnetic fields we find an effective production of electron
antineutrinos in the Sun even for small neutrino mixing through cascade
conversions , in a random magnetic field that would be a
signature of the Majorana nature of neutrino if will be
registered. Basing on the present SK bound on electron antineutrinos we have
also found an excluded area in the same -plane and
revealed a strong sensitivity to the random magnetic field correlation length
