The Constraints on CP Violating Phases in models with a dynamical gluino phase

We have analyzed the electric dipole moment and the Higgs mass constraints on the supersymmetric model which offers dynamical solutions to the \mu and strong CP problems. The trilinear coupling phases, and \tan\beta-|\mu| are strongly correlated, particularly in the low-\tan\beta regime. Certain values of the phases of the trilinear couplings are forbidden, whereas the CP violating phase from the chargino sector is imprisoned to lie near a CP conserving point, by the Higgs mass and electric dipole moment constraints.Comment: 19 pages, 11 eps fig

Q-ball formation in the MSSM with explicit CP violation

Q-balls generically exist in the supersymmetric extensions of the standard model. Taking into account the additional sources of CP violation, which are naturally accomodated by the supersymmetric models, it is shown that the Q-ball matter depends additively on individual CP phases, whereas mass per unit charge in the Q-ball depends only on the relative phases. There are regions of the parameter space where there is no stable Q-ball solution in the CP-conserving limit whereas finite CP phases induce a stable Q-ball.Comment: 6 p

The CP properties of the lightest Higgs boson with sbottom effects

In the framework of the recently proposed gluino-axion model, using the effective potential method and taking into account the top-stop as well as the bottom-sbottom effects, we discuss the CP--properties of the lightest Higgs boson, in particular its CP--odd composition, which can offer new opportunities at collider searches. It is found that although the CP-odd composition of the lightest Higgs increases slightly with the inclusion of the sbottom effects, it never exceeds %0.17 for all values of the renormalization scale Q ranging from top mass to TeV scaleComment: 24 pp, 12 eps fig

Catalytic Dehydrogenation of Tetradecanol over Copper/Barium Oxide Catalysts

    Get PDF
The liquid phase dehydrogenation of tetradecanol to tetradecanal has been studied over a series of CuO/BaO catalysts. Catalytic activity and selectivity to tetradecanal was found to depend on the ratio of easily reducible copper sites to less easily reducible copper sites. The catalysts have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, temperature programmed reduction, and thermo-gravimetric analysis. TPR results have shown that there were at least two types of copper oxides with varying reducibility. The relationship between the activity and area ratio of various copper oxide sites and a scheme for the conversion of tetradecanol were discussed

The aim of this study is to investigate the AZ31 alloy powder production and characterization processes experimentally using the gas atomization method. For this purpose, firstly, the design and production of gas atomization units were done at Karabuk University Faculty of Technology Department of Manufacturing Engineering. In this gas atomization unit, the manufacturability of AZ31 powder from magnesium alloys was investigated by the gas atomization method which is one of the production methods by powder metallurgy. The parameters and the literature used in the production of materials similar to the AZ31 alloy are taken into account as producibility parameters. In the gas atomization method, parameters such as nozzle diameter, gas pressure, and temperature must be controlled in order to produce the desired properties in metal powder production. The diameter of the nozzle is crucial because it affects the gas pressure and temperature, the size of the powder, and the shape of the powders. Experimental studies were carried out using 3 different temperatures (790, 820, and 850 degrees C), 4 different nozzle diameters (2, 3, 4, and 5 mm) and 4 different gas pressures (5, 15, 25, and 35 bar). In the molten metal atomization process and in the process of forming a protective gas atmosphere, argon gas was preferred. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to determine the shape of the AZ31 powders produced, XRD, XRF, and SEM-EDX analyses were used to determine the phases in the internals of the produced powders and percentages of these phases. Laser measurement devices were used for powder size analysis and hardness tests were performed to determine the mechanical properties of the produced powders. The powders produced were pressed into masses at 4 different pressing pressures (300, 400, 500, and 600 MPa). The best sinterability values of the bulked powders and sintering process were performed at 3 different temperatures (500, 550, and 600 degrees C). Density measurements were made after pressing and sintering th

Effect of production system and slaughter age on some production traits of guinea fowl: Meat quality and digestive traits

    Get PDF
Certain meat quality traits of guinea fowl that were reared in two production systems were determined in this study. Grey guinea fowl were reared in free-range and barn conditions. Birds were slaughtered at 14, 16 and 18 weeks old to determine meat quality traits. Some digestive traits were also determined. The type of production system affected the yellowness of breast meat significantly, and guinea fowl reared in the free-range system had yellower breast meat. The pH of both breast and thigh meat increased at older ages. Water-holding capacity, cooking loss and drip loss of breast and thigh meat were not affected by production system. Drip loss of meat decreased at older slaughter ages. The ratios of digestive system organ weights to body weight mostly decreased at older ages. Keywords: Digestive tract, free-range, meat colour, water holding capacity, p

    Get PDF
This study compared growth and carcass traits of 2 medium-growth crossbred, 4 slow-growth crossbred, 1 commercial slow-growth and 1 commercial fast-growth broiler strains raised in indoor and free-range production systems. One hundred twenty chicks of each strain were raised in each production system. Chicks were raised in indoor pens at a density of 10 chicks per m2. From day 29 until slaughter at 84 days of age, chicks in the free-range system were given outdoor access through doors that were open between 8.00 - 17.00 hours. The study found live weight, feed efficiency, and mortality were significantly affected by strain. However, no significant differences were found between the production systems. Outdoor access varied significantly among strains, with the commercial high-growth and medium-growth crossbred strains making less use of outdoor areas. In terms of performance traits, none of the strains showed any significant differences in performance between the indoor and free-range production systems. However, significant differences among the strains in carcass traits, pH, and colour values of thigh and breast meat were observed in connection with differences in growth rate. Moreover, carcass and breast yields were greater in fast and medium-growth broilers, while ratios of edible inner organs were greater in medium and slow-growth broilers. Keywords: abdominal fat, animal welfare, breast to thigh ratio, feed efficiency, outdoor access, slaughter and carcass trait

B_s ---> \gamma \gamma decay in the model III and 3HDM(O_2) with CP violating effects

We analyse the CP asymmetry for B_{s} -->\gamma\gamma in the two Higgs doublet model with tree level flavor changing currents (model III) and three Higgs doublet model with O_2 symmetry in the Higgs sector, including O_{7} type long distance effects. Further, we study the dependencies of the branching ratio Br(B_{s} --> \gamma\gamma)$ and the ratio of CP-even and CP-odd amplitude squares, R=|A^{+}|^2/|A^{-}|^2, on the CP parameter sin \theta. We found that, there is a weak CP asymmetry, at the order of 10^{-4}. Besides, the branching ratio Br(B_{s} --> \gamma\gamma), and also R ratio, is not sensitive to the CP parameter for |\frac{\bar{\xi}^{U}_{N,tt}}{\bar{\xi}^{D}_{N,bb}}|<1.Comment: 17 pages, 11 figure
