    Chronic Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation: A Case Report

    In health there is a balance between the coagulation and anti-coagulation systems, but in disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) the coagulation mechanism is activated inappropriately and in a diffuse way. This may lead to thrombosis, but more often haemorrhage occurs when the clotting factors are exhausted. DIC may present as acute, subacute, and rarely chronic form. Here we present a case of chronic DIC following pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) as a consequence of repeated menstruation regulation (MR).     This research talked about forms and rhyme of umpasa or maxim on ceremony for the death people who had been saur matua (people whose all their children already got merried) on Tobanese people who lived at Nagasaribu, Lintongnihuta Subdistric, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. This research used kualitative and descriptive metode which was aimed to describe the problem based on reality. This research used death ceremony process for saur matua as the object by using literally datas by doing some interview and classifying the datas which were got from the video of the ceremony. This research finaly got the conclusion that there instruction from umpasa, diksi from umpasa and three forms of umpasa, they were: umpasa with two lines,with the second last umpasa with four lines and the last umpasa with six lines. While there were four roles of umpasa, they were: religious, morality, kinship, conference. And based on the analysis of the data s there were eight rhymes that found on the ceremony, they were: start middle rhyme, finish rhyme, incomplete rhyme, cluster rhyme, uneven rhyme, interlude rhyme, clasp rhyme

    Brain anatomical variations among Malaysian population

    Spatial normalization is an important task in neuroimaging analysis to compensate with the anatomical variations between different subjects. Current practice is to normalize the sample image to the reference brain atlas to ensure that the unbiased image-to-image comparison is possible. The available template nowadays is ICBM152, which derived from a Caucasian population. Since the brain anatomical variations has been reported especially for the inter-regional cohorts, the use of the ICBM152 template for other region subjects is questionable. In addition to that, several other factors such as age and gender have also been reported to have an effect to the brain morphometric. This study investigates the global brain shape measures for different group among Asian population. It is useful as a basis for further investigation on a more complex brain structure differences among local and inter-regional population. Later on, a group-specific atlas may be constructed to be used exclusively for Asian subjects. This study showed that gender factor has a significant effect on the brain shape while the age and race demonstrated no significant correlation

    Multicollinearity is the correlation between some independent variables which makes coefficient regression yielded by multiple regression analysis cannot be used in estimating. The problem of multicollinearity which is indicated by the value of Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) > 10 occurs when the influence of age, obesity (IMT), and cholesterol were modeled toward systole and diastole blood pressure. The objective of the research was to obtain the regression model of age, obesity (IMT), and cholesterol with systole blood pressure and with diastole blood pressure of patients suffered from hypertension at the Inpatient Wards of the RSUD (Regional General Hospital) Sidikalang, in 2014. The samples consisted of 105 patients. The data were secondary data and using α=0,1. Analyzed by using ridge regression in order to obtain correct regression model. The result of ANOVA test showed that p < 0.000 which indicated that, simultaneously, there was the influence of age, obesity (IMT), and cholesterol on systole and diastole blood pressure. The equation for modeling blood pressure was obtained at k = 0.07; they were Y systole = 21.2828 + 0.7169 Age + 1.7986 IMT + 0.2222 Cholesterol, and Y diastole = 24.5290 + 0.5025 Age + 0.6648 IMT + 0.0946 Cholesterol. It is recommended that the next researchers solve the problems of multicollinearity during the modeling; one of them is by using ridge regression analysis

    The door l eaf design for X-rays room from the composi te material of natural rubber lead oxide has been carried out. The purpose of this desi gn i s to mastery in manufacture technology and to gain optimalizati on of fabrication proses of the composite. The design incl ude the absorption strength which is based on the compositi on of l ead oxide i n the composi te and thickness of the door leaf for X-ray by usi ng 100keV energy.Result of thi s cal culation show that X-ray door l eaf in 2 mm thi ckness can be change by the composite natural rubber lead oxide in the range 75 – 150 part perone hundred rubber composition and 3,4 – 1,85 cm thickness. The door l eaf whi ch is has 3mm thi ckness can be changed by the composite having 100 – 175 part per one hundred rubber compositi on and 3,40 – 2,5 cm thi ckness. Tel ah dil akukan perancangan pintu ruang pesawat si nar-X dari bahan komposit karet al am timbal oksida.Tuj uan dari desain ini untuk menguasai teknologi dan memperol eh optimasi proses pembuatannya.Perancangan meli puti penentuan nil ai daya serap perisai yang didasarkan pada komposisi dan ketebal an daun pi ntu perisai radiasi sinar-X memakai energi 100 keV. Hasil perhi tungan di peroleh nil ai daun pi ntu peri sai radiasi sinar-X dengan tebal 2mm dapat di ganti dengan komposi t karet al am timbal oksida komposisi antara 75phr (part per one hundred rubber) sampai 150phr, dengan ketebalan antara 3,4cm sampai 1,85cm Untuk daun pi ntu dengan tebal 3mm, dapat diganti dengan komposit komposisi antara 100phr sampai 175phr dengan ketebalan antara 3,40cm sampai 2,44cm

    Degradation of glass polymers due to successive exposure to acid rain and UV radiation

    Utilization of polymer products for outdoor applications is continuously increasing. So the stability of polymers against environmental degradation became top of interests for many researchers. The effect of environmental elements on the polymers stability has been studied, but individually. A solution against an environmental element may conflict with a solution against other element. Therefore current study aimed to clarify a sort of these conflicts. Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) films as example of glassy polymers are exposed to acid rains and Ultraviolet (UV) radiation in sequenced method for different time intervals. The effects on both structural and optical parameters are deduced from the measurements of Infrared spectra, X-ray diffraction charts, refractive indices and optical dispersion of samples before and after treatments. Chain scission is found to reduce the transparency of the samples. Acid rains are found to enhance the transparency of PMMA films by disordering chain fragments that are released by chain scission. Lot of experimental data are given in many coloured graphs

    EVALUATING ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION OF TEXTILE STUDENTS AND THEIR ATTITUDES TOWARD ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

    Bangladesh has been experiencing serious environmental degradation for last few years specially for textile and apparel industries. The objective of this research is to evaluate the level of environmental education of outgoing textile undergraduate students and their perception about the environmental degradation. A questionnaire was developed and administered to textile outgoing and 1st semester students to assess their environmental concern, knowledge and responsibility. Two sample mean test was applied to differentiate the level of understanding of these two groups of students. Binary logistic regression was used to identify the most potential source to build up the consciousness among the students about pollution. The multiple regression analysis was done to assess the comparative role of knowledge and concern for showing the responsibility towards the environment. The result indicated that the level of understanding of outgoing students on environmental sustainability is not up to the mark, there is potential for further enhancing environmental learning. It revealed that responsibility toward the environment is directly proportional to knowledge and concern. Findings also suggested that the university and the electronic media have a significant role to increase the environmental awareness among the students
