    Analysis and Review of Mathematical Concepts in Quantum Computation

    The basic principle behind quantum computation is that quantum properties can be used to represent data and perform operations on these data. Mathematics lies at the heart of quantum computation and it is needed in every aspect of the research and development of quantum computation. In this paper we have presented mathematical concepts that are closely related to quantum computation and their relation to quantum mechanics in a way which is innovative and very easy to comprehend. Most of the mathematical concepts presented in this paper are deduced from the postulates of quantum mechanics and linear algebra.     Assessment of Microbiological Quality of Fura Da Nono Produced in Kebbi State, Nigeria

    Fura da Nono is a nutritious and refreshing drink made from fermented milk and ground millet grains. In this study, the microbiology of traditional and small-scale industrial production of Fura da Nono in Birnin Kebbi and Jega was investigated. Samples of Fura da Nono were collected from Birnin Kebbi emir’s palace, Mini Factory JEGA and a local hawker in Jega. Food borne and spoilage pathogens were identified based on their colonial morphology, gram staining reaction and series of biochemical tests. Viable colony counts, coliform test, fungal analysis and pH test were also conducted. The results revealed the highest average count of 1.25Ă—108 cfu/ml in the samples  collected from local hawker while Birnin Kebbi emir’s palace had the lowest average count of 8.3Ă—105 cfu/ml. The bacteria identified in Fura da Nono were Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp, Lactobacillus plantarum and Escherichia coli. The fungi isolated were  Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The highest pH (6.8) was recorded in the sample obtained from local hawker and the lowest (3.1) from the Birnin Kebbi emir’s palace. The study showed the presence of food borne and spoilage pathogens in Fura da Nono which indicates poor hygienic practices during production. Therefore, in order to produce commercial Furada Nono either at large or small-scale quantity, it is necessary to improve the acceptability, microbiological stability and hygiene of the product

    Concept for a Web Map Implementation with Faster Query Response

    Vector data and in particular road networks are being used in many application domains such as in mobile computing. These systems would prefer to receive the query results very quickly. Lots of research is going on to make the query response faster. One technique is to compress vector data so that they can be transferred to the client quickly. If we look different compression technique that are used to make the response faster, we will see that some of them do not make the response fast enough and some of them make response fast but very complex to implement. We report the concept for the implementation of a web map with a simple compression technique to send query response to the client, and found it making response fast. We have used some open source/free components to make the development quick and easy. This paper may work as a guide line for quick implementation of a web map.     On the identifiability of steady-state induction machine models using external measurements

    A common practice in induction machine parameter identification techniques is to use external measurements of voltage, current, speed, and/or torque. Using this approach, it has been shown that it is possible to obtain an infinite number of mathematical solutions representing the machine parameters. This paper examines the identifiability of two commonly used induction machine models, namely the T-model (the conventional per phase equivalent circuit) and the inverse Γ-model. A novel approach based on the alternating conditional expectation (ACE) algorithm is employed here for the first time to study the identifiability of the two induction machine models. The results obtained from the proposed ACE algorithm show that the parameters of the commonly employed T-model are unidentifiable, unlike the parameters of the inverse Γ-model which are uniquely identifiable from external measurements. The identifiability analysis results are experimentally verified using the measured operating characteristics of a 1.1-kW three-phase induction machine in conjunction with the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm, which is developed and applied here for this purpose

    Clinical and computed tomographic evaluation of portland cement pulpotomy in primary molar: A case report

    The present case describes the clinical & radiographic outcome of a Portland Cement pulpotomy. The 5 years old girl presenting extensive carious exposure in her mandibular left 2nd deciduous molar and was suffering pain in her left lower jaw only on exposure to cold for last 2 days. She was ultimately diagnosed clinic-radio-graphically as a case of irreversible pulpitis. Coronal pulpotomy procedure was carried out in the responsible tooth and Portland cement (PC) was applied as a medicament after pulpotomy. At the 3 & 6-months follow-up appointments, treated tooth was asymptomatic clinically and radiographic examinations revealed no sign of periradicular pathosis in the pulpotomized teeth. Additionally, the formation of a dentin bridge immediately below the PC in the treated tooth was confirmed by RVG and CBCT

Users’ behaviors were explored via a traditional questionnaire research instrument in a data collocate process. The questionnaire explores users’ behaviors theoretically, so the respondents’ answers to the questionnaire are insufficiently reliable, and the responses might not reflect actual behavior based on the human bias when facing theoretical problems. This study aims to solve unreliable responses to the questionnaire by developing a simulated intelligent instrument to measure users’ behaviors toward cybersecurity policies in an experimental study using gamification

The aim of our work is to get pure signal which is created by sampling the signal from speaker. The discrimination between speech and music waves was achieved. A good signal is obtained by using preprocessing then it used for feature extraction. The files we used in this paper are wave-type for male, female and music have sample rate 48000, bit resolution is 16-bits and Mono channel. The Berlin dataset and RAVDESS dataset are used in this work

    Prevalence and Pattern of Stimulants Use among Long-distance Truck Drivers in a Truck Part in Kaduna State, Nigeria

    Background: Stimulant use is recognized as an important factor in road safety worldwide, and concerns are growing over the incidence of road traffic accidents among drivers who drive under the influence of stimulants. Yearly, more than 1.25 million people lose their lives as a result of road traffic accidents, many of which are associated with stimulant use. Aim: The study aimed to assess the prevalence, pattern, and factors associated with stimulant use among long‑distance truck drivers in a truck part in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Methods: A cross‑sectional study was conducted in a truck park in Marraraban Jos in Kaduna State. A structured, interviewer‑administered  questionnaire was used to obtain data. A total of 152 respondents were interviewed. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20. Chi‑square and  Fisher’s exact tests were used to identify the relationship between categorical variables with a level of significance at P < 0.05. Results: A total of 152 respondents participated in the study with a mean age of 33 ± 5 years. The prevalence of stimulant use was 64.5%. Only 92  (60.7%) drivers reported using stimulants on rare occasions. Years of driving experience was found to be associated with stimulant use (P = 0.031).  Other sociodemographic variables were shown not to be significantly related to stimulant use. Conclusion: The prevalence of stimulant use was found to be high among the drivers, with less experienced drivers more likely to use stimulants.  Efforts on improving road safety should include reducing stimulant use, especially among the younger less experienced drivers.
