Near Horizon Extremal Geometry Perturbations: Dynamical Field Perturbations vs. Parametric Variations
In arXiv:1310.3727 we formulated and derived the three universal laws
governing Near Horizon Extremal Geometries (NHEG). In this work we focus on the
Entropy Perturbation Law (EPL) which, similarly to the first law of black hole
thermodynamics, relates perturbations of the charges labeling perturbations
around a given NHEG to the corresponding entropy perturbation. We show that
field perturbations governed by the linearized equations of motion and symmetry
conditions which we carefully specify, satisfy the EPL. We also show that these
perturbations are limited to those coming from difference of two NHEG solutions
(i.e. variations on the NHEG solution parameter space). Our analysis and
discussions shed light on the "no-dynamics" statements of arXiv:0906.2380 and
arXiv:0906.2376.Comment: 38 page
Wiggling Throat of Extremal Black Holes
We construct the classical phase space of geometries in the near-horizon
region of vacuum extremal black holes as announced in [arXiv:1503.07861].
Motivated by the uniqueness theorems for such solutions and for perturbations
around them, we build a family of metrics depending upon a single periodic
function defined on the torus spanned by the isometry directions. We
show that this set of metrics is equipped with a consistent symplectic
structure and hence defines a phase space. The phase space forms a
representation of an infinite dimensional algebra of so-called symplectic
symmetries. The symmetry algebra is an extension of the Virasoro algebra whose
central extension is the black hole entropy. We motivate the choice of
diffeomorphisms leading to the phase space and explicitly derive the symplectic
structure, the algebra of symplectic symmetries and the corresponding conserved
charges. We also discuss a formulation of these charges with a Liouville type
stress-tensor on the torus defined by the isometries and outline
possible future directions.Comment: 56 pages, 3 figure
Extremal Rotating Black Holes in the Near-Horizon Limit: Phase Space and Symmetry Algebra
We construct the NHEG phase space, the classical phase space of Near-Horizon
Extremal Geometries with fixed angular momenta and entropy, and with the
largest symmetry algebra. We focus on vacuum solutions to dimensional
Einstein gravity. Each element in the phase space is a geometry with
isometries which has vanishing and constant charges. We construct an on-shell vanishing symplectic
structure, which leads to an infinite set of symplectic symmetries. In four
spacetime dimensions, the phase space is unique and the symmetry algebra
consists of the familiar Virasoro algebra, while in dimensions the
symmetry algebra, the NHEG algebra, contains infinitely many Virasoro
subalgebras. The nontrivial central term of the algebra is proportional to the
black hole entropy. This phase space and in particular its symmetries might
serve as a basis for a semiclassical description of extremal rotating black
hole microstates.Comment: Published in PLB, 5 page
Indoor Air Pollution in Exercise Centers
As many people and athletes exercise indoor, in their homes or other sports arenas because of outdoor air pollution or other reasons, it is important for health professionals to know briefly about indoor air pollutants and its possible health effects on athletes who exercise in these environments. In this review the most common indoor air pollutants and their possible health effects on athletes are discussed
Renoprotective effects of antioxidants against cisplatin nephrotoxicity.
Nephrotoxicity is the major limitation for the clinical use of cisplatin as an anti-tumoural drug. Intracellular effects of cisplatin cause tubular damage and tubular dysfunction with sodium, potassium, and magnesium wasting. Renoperotective strategies against cisplatin are classified on 8 targets: 1) Decrease of cisplatin uptake by renal cell, 2) Inhibition of cisplatin metabolism, 3) Blocking cell death pathways, 4) Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors, 5) Pharmacologic, molecular, and genetic blockade of p53, 6) Inhibition of specific Mitogen-activated protein kinase, 7) Antioxidants usage for renoprotection against cisplatin injury and inhibit of oxidative stress, 8) Suppress of inflammation. The oxidation reactions can produce free radicals, which start chain reactions and subsequently can cause a large number of diseases in humans. Antioxidant from natural products have attracted the physicians' attentions, nowadays. The natural product antioxidants detoxify reactive oxygen species (ROS) in kidneys, without affecting the anticancer efficacy of cisplatin. Hence, antioxidants have potential therapeutic applications
Measuring Statistical isotropy of the CMB anisotropy
The statistical expectation values of the temperature fluctuations of cosmic
microwave background (CMB) are assumed to be preserved under rotations of the
sky. This assumption of {\em statistical isotropy} (SI) of the CMB anisotropy
should be observationally verified since detection of violation of SI could
have profound implications for cosmology. We propose a set of measures,
() for detecting violation of statistical
isotropy in an observed CMB anisotropy sky map indicated by non zero
. We define an estimator for the spectrum and
analytically compute its cosmic bias and cosmic variance. The results match
those obtained by measuring using simulated sky maps. Non-zero
(bias corrected) larger than the SI cosmic variance will imply
violation of SI. The SI measure proposed in this paper is an appropriate
statistics to investigate preliminary indication of SI violation in the
recently released WMAP data.Comment: 9 pages, 1 figure, Style file changed, figure enhanced and references

A new model of pressure propagation in human tissue in HIFU application
This project is a new pressure model for propagating pressure inside one or several tissues at the time of treatment with high intensity focus ultrasound (HIFU). Pressure's changes are converted to heat's changes in tissue and this is done oscillatory. When the treatment is done in deeper tissues, obtained heat can affect surficial tissues. This pressure effect also can enter surficial tissues. Amount of pressure and heat possible injury can be controlled and reduced through this mechanical modelling. In this model we have used three layers and pressure also is obtained within these three layers and is investigated averagely. Obtained tissue in this mood is kidney tissue and it is tried to obtain the rate of pressure in these three layers
On black hole temperature in Horndeski gravity
It has been observed that for black holes in certain family of Horndeski gravity theories Wald's entropy formula does not lead to the correct first law for black hole thermodynamics. For this family of Horndeski theories speeds of propagation of gravitons and photons are in general different and gravitons move on an effective metric different than the one seen by photons. We show that the temperature of the black hole should be modified from surface gravity over 2\u3c0 to include effects of this effective metric. The modified temperature, with the entropy unambiguously computed by the solution phase space method, yields the correct first law. Our results have far reaching implications for the Hawking radiation and species problem, going beyond the Horndeski theories
