    Determinants of eWOM on hospitality CSR issues. In Facebook we trust?

    Social media has emerged asa powerfuland successfultooltodisseminate information relating to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in different industries, including the hospitality context. Similarly, the media plays a major role in the domain of CSR since news media materializes corporate goals regarding CSR issues. However, no prior studies have explored the main factors that influence electronic word of mouth (eWOM) on CSR issues covered by the media through social media. This research incorporates the characteristics of information (specific) and individuals? informational predisposition (general) into an integrative model to examine the key predictors of intention to share and comment on negative CSR news covered by a specific media outlet on a particular social networking site (SNS): Facebook. To empirically test the proposed model, 208 Facebook users were surveyed in Spain. The results show that information value, Facebook trust and self-disclosure have a positive impact on eWOM intentions. It also confirmed that source credibility has a positive impact on information value. However, neither significant relationship was found between Facebook trust and privacy concerns, nor between this variable and intentions to share and comment. Finally, theoretical conclusions, managerial implications, and limitations are discussed

    ABSTRAC: This article aims at developing an efficient measurement scale for corporate social responsibility in the tourism industry, given the contextual character that is recognized in the practice of this construct. Indicators were generated on the basis of a literature review and qualitative research. To assess the reliability and validity, first- and second-order confirmatory factor analysis were carried out. Results show a multidimensional structure of this construct—including economic, social, and environmental issues.     ABSTRACT: The authors describe the intensity and orientation of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting in four Spanish industries and explore the relationship that exists between both concepts and an independent measurement of reputation for CSR (CSRR). The results demonstrate that the CSR reporting is especially relevant and useful in the finance industry. Finance companies report significantly more CSR information than most industries in Spain, and this reporting is more closely linked to their CSRR than the CSR reporting of basic, consumer goods and services industries.     Influence of country and city images on students’ perception of host universities and their satisfaction with the assigned destination for their exchange programmes

    ABSTRACT: This research focuses on the effect that country image, city image and university image has on students’ a priori satisfaction with the assigned destination for their international exchange programme (Bachelor and Master). In particular, this study establishes six hypotheses related to the causal relationships among the different typologies of image and their effects on students’ satisfaction with the assigned destination to study at least one semester in a host university. In order to contrast these hypotheses, a quantitative research was carried out in the Spanish city of Santander (Spain), by obtaining a sample of 245 international students who participated in an exchange programme at the University of Cantabria. The research findings are: (1) students’ satisfaction with the assigned destination is positively influenced by the university image; (2) the university image is positively influenced by the city image; and (3) the city image is positively influenced by the country image

    [EN] This study compares the ampelographic characterization of adult leaves and clusters from real grapevine varieties with those present in Solomonic columns of Baroque altarpieces. In a previous preliminary work, the authors concluded that sculpted grapevine leaves in Baroque altarpieces were represented with botanical accuracy and may represent real varieties. Grapevines are a very important decorative feature of these art works, in particular as ornamentation on Solomonic columns. The present work examines more of these carved leaves and includes also the clusters. Six real grapevine varieties were identified on as many altarpieces, enriching their cultural value and pointing to their existence in the wine-growing zone by the 17th century. Further varieties may be identifiable on Baroque altarpieces in other winemaking areas using the same methods. These results encourage other researchers to use unconventional sources for the study of the evolution of agriculture and crop history.[ES] El presente trabajo compara a nivel ampelográfico las hojas adultas y los racimos de variedades de vid reales con aquellos que aparecen representados en las columnas salomónicas de ciertos retablos barrocos. En un trabajo preliminar publicado anteriormente los autores habían concluido que las hojas esculpidas en estos retablos barrocos están representadas con una gran precisión botánica y por lo tanto podrían estar representando a variedades reales. La vid es un elemento decorativo muy importante en este tipo de obras de arte, en particular como decoración de las columnas de estilo salomónico. El presente trabajo examina un mayor número de retablos e incluye el estudio de los racimos. Seis variedades reales de vid han sido identificadas en otros tantos retablos lo que les aporta nuevos valores culturales y permite demostrar su existencia en la zona vitícola en el siglo XVII. Otras variedades podrían ser también identificadas en retablos barrocos localizados en otras zonas vitícolas diferentes siguiendo la misma metodología. Estos resultados podrían abrir las puertas para que otros investigadores utilicen fuentes de información menos convencionales en el estudio de la evolución de la agricultura y la historia de los diferentes cultivos.Peer reviewe
