Model independent study of massive lepton elastic scattering on the proton, beyond the Born approximation
Model independent expressions for all polarization observables in elastic scattering are obtained, taking into account the lepton mass and
including the two-photon exchange contribution. The spin structure of the
matrix element is parametrized in terms of six independent complex amplitudes,
functions of two independent kinematical variables. General statements about
the influence of the two--photon--exchange terms on the differential cross
section and on polarization observables are given. Polarization effects have
been investigated for the case of a longitudinally polarized lepton beam and
polarized nucleon in the final state.Comment: 28 pages, 3 figure
Manifestation of heavy 3/2-spin lepton in large-angle reaction at high energies
Manifestation of the heavy 3/2-spin lepton , as possible virtual
intermediate state in Feynmann diagrams, have been searched in the reaction at high energies and large photon angles. The
spin-vector field of the 3/2-lepton is described by the
Rarita-Schwinger one and phenomenological Lagrangian of -interaction is chosen similarly to interaction of isobar with
nucleon and quant. It is described by two constants with dimension
and The differential cross section and polarization
asymmetries have been calculated for the case when both beams are polarized
longitudinally along their directions, as well transversally, in the reaction
plane, and normally, perpendicularly to it. Numerical estimations are performed
in wide diapason of the collision energy and parameters entering
phenomenological Lagrangian.Comment: 17 pages, 7 figure
Proton-antiproton annihilation into massive leptons
We extend previous calculations of polarization observables for the
annihilation reaction to the case of heavy
leptons, such as the -lepton. We consider the case when the beam and/or
the target are polarized, as well as the polarization of the outgoing leptons.
We give the dependence of the unpolarized cross section, angular asymmetry, and
various polarization observables on the relevant kinematical variables in the
center of mass and in the laboratory system, with particular attention to the
effect of the mass induced terms.Comment: 25 pages, 8 figure
Search for evidence of two photon contribution in elastic electron proton data
We reanalyze the most recent data on elastic electron proton scattering. We
look for a deviation from linearity of the Rosenbluth fit to the differential
cross section, which would be the signature of the presence of two photon
exchange. The two photon contribution is parametrized by a one parameter
formula, based on symmetry arguments. The present data do not show evidence for
such deviation.Comment: 15 pages 3 figures More details on the fitting procedure, more
