Research into the production of white sesame oil by aqueous extraction has been promoted because of concerns about the environment, health, and cost. The advanced aqueous method using a 1.95:10 liquid-to-raw material ratio, which was finally developed in this study, recovered 96.06% white sesame oil and produced de-oiled meal with high quality (3.98% residual oil content). The acid value and peroxide value of the oil produced were quite low at 0.19 mg KOH/kg and 90%). It can also be a nutritious ingredient or raw material for producing many food products.La investigación sobre la producción de aceite de sésamo blanco por extracción acuosa se ha promovido debido a las preocupaciones sobre el medio ambiente, la salud y el costo. Raman scattering study of electron-doped Prx_xCa1x_{1-x}Fe2_2As2_2 superconductors

Temperature-dependent polarized Raman spectra of electron-doped superconducting Prx_xCa1x_{1-x}Fe2_2As2_2 (x0.12x \approx 0.12) single crystals are reported. All four allowed by symmetry even-parity phonons are identified. Phonon mode of B1g_{1g} symmetry at 222 cm1^{-1}, which is associated with the c-axis motion of Fe ions, is found to exhibit an anomalous frequency hardening at low temperatures, that signals non-vanishing electron-phonon coupling in the superconducting state and implies that the superconducting gap magnitude 2Δc<272\Delta_c < 27meV.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

Magnetic control of the pair creation in spatially localized supercritical fields

We examine the impact of a perpendicular magnetic field on the creation mechanism of electron-positron pairs in a supercritical static electric field, where both fields are localized along the direction of the electric field. In the case where the spatial extent of the magnetic field exceeds that of the electric field, quantum field theoretical simulations based on the Dirac equation predict a suppression of pair creation even if the electric field is supercritical. Furthermore, an arbitrarily small magnetic field outside the interaction zone can bring the creation process even to a complete halt, if it is sufficiently extended. The mechanism for this magnetically induced complete shutoff can be associated with a reopening of the mass gap and the emergence of electrically dressed Landau levels

    Raman scattering study of (Kx_xSr1x_{1-x})Fe2_2As2_2 (xx = 0.0, 0.4)

Polarized Raman spectra of non-superconducting SrFe2_2As2_2 and superconducting K0.4_{0.4}Sr0.6_{0.6}Fe2_2As2_2 (Tc=37T_c = 37 K) are reported. All four phonon modes (A1g_{1g} + B1g_{1g} + 2Eg_g) allowed by symmetry, are found and identified. Shell model gives reasonable description of the spectra. No detectable anomalies are observed near the tetragonal-to-orthorhombic transition in SrFe2_2As2_2 or the superconducting transition in K0.4_{0.4}Sr0.6_{0.6}Fe2_2As2_2.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, 2 table

Ge quantum dot arrays grown by ultrahigh vacuum molecular beam epitaxy on the Si(001) surface: nucleation, morphology and CMOS compatibility

    Get PDF
Issues of morphology, nucleation and growth of Ge cluster arrays deposited by ultrahigh vacuum molecular beam epitaxy on the Si(001) surface are considered. Difference in nucleation of quantum dots during Ge deposition at low (<600 deg C) and high (>600 deg. C) temperatures is studied by high resolution scanning tunneling microscopy. The atomic models of growth of both species of Ge huts---pyramids and wedges---are proposed. The growth cycle of Ge QD arrays at low temperatures is explored. A problem of lowering of the array formation temperature is discussed with the focus on CMOS compatibility of the entire process; a special attention is paid upon approaches to reduction of treatment temperature during the Si(001) surface pre-growth cleaning, which is at once a key and the highest-temperature phase of the Ge/Si(001) quantum dot dense array formation process. The temperature of the Si clean surface preparation, the final high-temperature step of which is, as a rule, carried out directly in the MBE chamber just before the structure deposition, determines the compatibility of formation process of Ge-QD-array based devices with the CMOS manufacturing cycle. Silicon surface hydrogenation at the final stage of its wet chemical etching during the preliminary cleaning is proposed as a possible way of efficient reduction of the Si wafer pre-growth annealing temperature.Comment: 30 pages, 11 figure

Averaging approximation to singularly perturbed nonlinear stochastic wave equations

An averaging method is applied to derive effective approximation to the following singularly perturbed nonlinear stochastic damped wave equation \nu u_{tt}+u_t=\D u+f(u)+\nu^\alpha\dot{W} on an open bounded domain DRnD\subset\R^n\,, 1n31\leq n\leq 3\,. Here ν>0\nu>0 is a small parameter characterising the singular perturbation, and να\nu^\alpha\,, 0α1/20\leq \alpha\leq 1/2\,, parametrises the strength of the noise. Some scaling transformations and the martingale representation theorem yield the following effective approximation for small ν\nu, u_t=\D u+f(u)+\nu^\alpha\dot{W} to an error of \ord{\nu^\alpha}\,.Comment: 16 pages. Golden Rectangle Treemap

© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd. Treemaps, a visualization method of representing hierarchical data sets, are becoming more and more popular for its efficient and compact displays. Several algorithms have been proposed to create more useful display by controlling the aspect ratios of the rectangles that make up a treemap. In this paper, we introduce a new treemap algorithm, generating layout in which the rectangles are easier to select and hierarchy information is easier to obtain. This algorithm generates rectangles which approximate golden rectangles. To prove the effectiveness of our algorithm, at the end of this paper several analyses on golden rectangle treemap have been done on disk file system
