    Upaya Meningkatkan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis melalui Metode Diskusi Berbantuan Microsoft Office Excel

    This research is motivated by the poor ability on student mathematical communication. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the method of discussion aided microsoft office excel in an effort to improve communication skills of mathematics in students. The population in this study is the student level II in one of the private universities in Garut district, with a sample of students of class IIB and IIC. Instruments in this study are in the form of mathematical communication ability tests that were tested in the pretest and posttest. Data analysis was conducted on the results of a pretest that begins with normality test, then the homogeneity test and t-test. whereas the posttest results, data analysis begins with normality test later Mann Whitney test. Broadly speaking, the results of this study show that improvement of communication capabilities mathematical students who receive assisted learning with discussion method microsoft office excel better than students who received the usual lecture learning

    - Latar belakang penelitian ini yaitu pentingnya kemampuan penalaran matematis dalam pembelajaran matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan pembelajaran model snowball throwing terhadap peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode pra-eksperimental dengan satu kelompok sampel yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang memperoleh pembelajaran snowball throwing. Adapun desain penelitian berbentuk one group pretest-posttest design, dimana subjek diberikan tes awal (pretest) untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal, kemudian diberi perlakuan selama jangka waktu tertentu, dan diberi tes akhir (posttest) untuk mengetahui pencapaian akhir setelah diberi perlakuan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa tingkat I di salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di kabupaten Garut, dengan sampel yaitu mahasiswa kelas IB. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini yaitu berupa tes uraian kemampuan penalaran matematis yang diujikan dalam bentuk pretest dan posttest. Pengolahan data dilakukan terhadap hasil gain ternormalisasi yang diawali dengan uji normlaitas dan diakhiri dengan uji-t satu sampel. Dari hasil penelitian secara garis besar diketahui bahwa penggunaan pembelajaran model snowball throwing sangat efektif meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa (po ≥ 70%

    Perbandingan Kemampuan Pemahaman Matematis Siswa antara yang Menggunakan Pembelajaran Inside-outside-circle dengan Konvensional

    Understanding is a fundamental aspect as well as a basic ability to achieve other higher mathematical abilities. Every lesson should include the essentials of understanding. To improve the ability of mathematical understanding must be facilitated by the learning provided by the teacher, one of them is the Inside-Outside-Circle learning. This study aims to examine the comparison of students' mathematical comprehension skills between those using the conventional Inside-Outside-Circle learning. The population used in this study is the students of class IX in one of the private Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) in Garut district. While the sample is the students of class IX B and IX C at the school. The instrument used in this study is a description of the tested test at the time of pretest and posttest. Data test results are then subjected to several statistical tests namely normality test, homogeneity test, and last t-test. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that students' mathematical understanding ability using Inside-Outside-Circle learning is better than conventional.     This research is based on the issues of mathematical communication skills students lack. As an alternative to that problem, conducted research with the implementation of the strategy think talk write in the study. This research examines the achievements of mathematical communication skills students acquire learning strategies think talk write with conventional learning. This research was quasi experimental study by using purposive sampling technique. The population in this study are all the students one of MTs in Garut. The research sample is taken for two grade levels VII, one class as the control class and one other class as a experiment class. The instruments used in the study of mathematical communication ability tests. The data analysis done with test descriptive statistics and inferensial. The results showed that the achievement of mathematical communication skills students acquire learning strategies think talk write better than students who get conventional instruction

    Analisis Soal Ujian Sekolah Berstandar Nasional Matematika Sekolah Menengah Pertama Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019

    Ujian Sekolah Berbasis Nasional (USBN) merupakan program pemerintah dalam rangka melaksanakan evaluasi capaian kompetensi siswa yang dilakukan sekolah dan pengakuan atas prestasi belajar. Namun, proses pelaksanaan USBN dengan anggaran yang tidak sedikit ternyata belum se-ideal yang seharusnya. Aturan pembuatan soal USBN yang menyatakan bahwa 75%-80% butir soal USBN dibuat oleh guru-guru atau tutor yang dikonsolidasikan Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) menimbulkan pro-kontra, mengingat kualitas guru yang belum merata di Indonesia. Kualitas soal USBN pun dipertanyakan. Urgensi tersebut mendorong peneliti untuk melakukan analisis terhadap soal USBN, dengan tujuan meninjau kesesuaian soal USBN antara kisi-kisi yang sudah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah dengan butir soal USBN yang disusun oleh daerah (Kabupaten), meninjau kategori tingkat keterampilan berpikir pada soal USBN, dan meninjau prediksi obstacle siswa pada option pilihan ganda. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kisi-kisi soal dan soal USBN Matematika Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) salah satu kabupaten di Jawa Barat Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019, pedoman kategori tingkat keterampilan berpikir siswa, serta pedoman wawancara. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan studi literasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas soal USBN belum optimal karena 28,57% kisi-kisi USBN tidak sesuai dengan soal USBN, kategori tingkat keterampilan berpikir pada soal USBN masih didominasi oleh soal LOTS sebanyak 88,57% (indikator taksonomi Bloom) dan 91,43% (indikator stimulus, multiple layers of thought, unfamiliar contex, real-life situation, dan non repetitive), serta pilihan jawaban yang tersedia pada soal pilihan ganda USBN belum memperhatikan prediksi obstacle siswa
