Turismo y género: desempeño laboral de la mujer en los organismos turísticos públicos del estado Nueva Esparta

Se determinó el desempeño laboral del género femenino en los organismos públicos relacionados con la actividad turística del estado Nueva Esparta. La metodología es descriptiva y de campo, basada en la revisión bibliográfica, en entrevistas dirigidas a los Gerentes o representantes de estos organismos, en la aplicación de un cuestionario a las mujeres empleadas en ellos. Se revisaron leyes y reglamentos que regulan la participación de la mujer en estos organismos. Se concluye que en relación al perfil de la mujer, estas ocupan cargos relevantes en áreas administrativas y directivas; con experiencia laboral en los organismos relacionados con el turismo, e igualdad de participación con respecto a los hombres. Los representantes de estos organismos consideran positivo el aporte del recurso humano femenino, demostrado en el manejo eficiente de información y habilidades para desempeñar las funciones relacionadas con su cargo.Women´s labor performance was evaluated in public institutions related to tourist activity in Nueva Esparta State. The methodology was descriptive, of field research type, based on the bibliographical review, as well as interviews applied to the managers or representatives of these institutions, and a questionnaire applied to the women who work there. Some laws and regulations that refer to the participation of women in these organisms were reviewed. It is concluded that with respect to the labor profile of women, they hold important positions in administrative and managerial areas; with labor experience in the organisms related to tourist activity, with equal degree of participation as men. The representatives of these organisms consider that the contribution of the female human resource is positive, which they demonstrate through efficient information handling and abilities to perform the functions related to their jobs

Opinión del sector empleador público sobre el desempeño laboral del Licenciado en Turismo egresado de la Universidad de Oriente, Núcleo Nueva Esparta

La actividad turística en el Estado Nueva Esparta, exige un profesional en este campo de trabajo. El objetivo del estudio es analizar la opinión de los representantes del sector empleador público sobre el desempeño laboral del Licenciado en Turismo egresado de la Escuela de Hotelería y Turismo de la Universidad de Oriente, Núcleo Nueva Esparta. La metodología se centró en la aplicación de un cuestionario a los representantes del sector empleador público del estado Nueva Esparta basado en un modelo propuesto por Gómez (2002), El análisis de los resultados estableció: El Licenciado en Turismo cumple las funciones planteadas por el perfil en cuanto a formación técnica y habilidades, sin embargo presenta fallas en algunas tareas de las funciones: investigación, planificación y control.The tourism activity in Nueva Esparta State, Venezuela requires well-trained professional in this industry. The main objective of this study is to analyze the opinion of employers of the public sector about the performance of graduates from the Escuela de Hotelería y Turismo (School of Hospitality and Tourism Management) of Universidad de de Oriente, Nueva Esparta. The methodology was based on a survey instrument adapted from Gómez (2002). The analysis of the information gathered yields as a result: Graduates from the Escuela de Hotelería y Turismo fulfil the university professional profile as for technical skills, nevertheless some failures were found out related to professional areas such as research, planning and control of processes

EMPLEO JUVENIL Y ACTIVIDAD TURÍSTICA EN LA ISLA DE MARGARITA (VENEZUELA)

This paper describes the following characteristics of the employment of young people in travel and tourist agencies of Mariño and Maneiro Municipalities of Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta State: the socio-economic profile, the academic profile, the position, the duration of the job and the legal support. The level is descriptive and that of field research. The paper concludes that young employees participate very little due to the lack of working experience, the positions they hold are of low and intermediate level, as they don’t possess enough academic preparation in the area, and their salary in bolivares is not higher than the one established by the law. The paper proves that the legal support for the employment of young people in tourist enterprises in Venezuela is almost inexistent, that’s why it is recommended to include this subject in the Venezuelan legal framework.Se analiza el empleo juvenil en las agencias de viajes y turismo de los Municipios Mariño y Maneiro de la Isla de Margarita, Estado Nueva Esparta; el perfil socio-económico, académico, el cargo, la temporalidad, y el marco legal. El nivel es descriptivo y de campo. Se concluye que los empleados jóvenes tienen poca participación debido a la falta de experiencia a nivel laboral, los puestos ocupados por éstos son de niveles bajos y medio debido a que no cuentan con tanta preparación académica en el área, el ingreso mensual en bolívares que reciben no sobrepasa el fijado por la ley. Turismo y Género: Empleo de la Mujer en la Actividad Turística en la Isla de Margarita, Estado Nueva Esparta

Se diagnosticó la fuerza laboral femenina en la actividad turística de la Isla de Margarita, estado Nueva Esparta, a través de la opinión de gerentes de agencias de viajes y de representantes de organismos públicos. Su importancia radica en incorporar estudios de género en las investigaciones en turismo. El estudio es de nivel exploratorio y de campo. Concluyó que las mujeres tienen una importante participación y ocupan más de la mitad del total de empleos y puestos, principalmente en los niveles de cargo medio y alto, y poseen la preparación necesaria para ejercerlos. Se determinó que Venezuela cuenta con la normativa legal necesaria para incorporar a la mujer a la fuerza laboral para lograr el desarrollo social.In this paper women’s labour force was studied in relation to margarita island tourist industry, in Nueva Esparta State, through travel clerks’ and public representative’s interviews. Its importance deals with the inclusion of gender studies into tourism research. This is an exploratory and field survey. It concluded that women have an important participation and that they occupy more than a half of the total labour force and positions. They occupy the high and medium level positions, and they have been prepared to do so. Diagnóstico de los bienes del patrimonio histórico-cultural del municipio Zamora, como atractivos turísticos del Estado Aragua

A diagnosis of the actual conditions of the historic and cultural patrimony located at the municipality of Zamora, state of Aragua, Venezuela was done. A descriptive research done through a survey was needed to do the inventory of the real state patrimony, religious festivities and handicraft of the municipality. The physical conditions and actual use of those elements of the patrimony were studied, as well as the plans and existing projects. The legal frame was analyzed. The representatives of the public organizations related with the touristic activity of the municipality, the visitors, historians and chronicler, gave their opinions. Results: Most of the heritages are well preserved. The cultural manifestations, fes-tivities, and handicraft are fairly performed but they are not used for the tourism purpose. There is a wide legal frame related with this patrimony. No plans were found for this historic heritage. The opinions determined that there is no public and private participation, but these sectors showed their interest in including the historic and cultural patrimony to the touristic offer of the municipality and the state

An approach to the historiográfica conception of Don Tulio Febres Lamb: definition and utility of history

El objetivo fundamental de este artículo es aproximarnos a la definición y utilidad de la historia en Tulio Febres Cordero, como parte de su contribución historiográfica. La metodología se orientó siguiendo un esquema propuesto por Germán Carrera Damas para dar a conocer las corrientes evolutivas en la historiografía venezolana y el concepto de historia en varios de sus representantes. Se observó que Febres Cordero, concibe la historia como una ciencia que ahonda en todas las manifestaciones del ser humano, dándole un carácter pragmático y moralizante en cuanto al valor a lo patrio y el papel que juegan los hechos pasados en la formación de la conciencia nacional y en nuestra cultura. Los conocimientos tradicionales de la palma datilera y sus derivados como atractivo turístico-cultural del municipio Díaz, Estado Nueva Esparta

The actual state of the traditional knowledge about the date palm, its products and use as a cultural touristic attraction in Municipio Díaz, Nueva Esparta state, is diagnosticated. A descriptive and field study of the community of Fuentidueño, using the semi-structured interviews was made. The com-munity has an amount of traditional knowledge due to its wisdom (learning). The new generation is hardly incorporated to learn this traditional knowledge about the date palm and its products, are the main conclusions. Diagnostica la situación actual de los bienes que conforman al patrimonio histórico-cultural del Municipio Zamora, Estado Aragua, Venezuela. La Investigación es descriptiva y de campo, comprendió la elaboración de un inventario de los bienes inmuebles, festividades religiosas y manifestaciones artesanales del municipio. Se estudiaron la condición física y uso actual de estos bienes y los planes y proyectos existentes. Analizó el marco normativo que los rige. Se obtuvo la opinión de los representantes de organismos públicos relacionados con la actividad turística del Municipio, de los visitantes, cronistas e historiadores. Aportes: La mayoría de los bienes se encuentran en buen estado de conservación, Las manifestaciones culturales, festividades y la artesanía se desarrollan periódicamente pero no son aprovechadas turísticamente, Se determinó que existe un marco normativo para tales bienes y No existen propuestas actuales referentes a estos bienes. Incorporación del patrimonio ambiental de la parroquia Chuao, a la oferta turística del estado Aragua, Venezuela

Strategies for the Santiago Mariño municipality, in the state of Aragua Venezuela, in order to include the environmental patrimony of Parroquia Chuao to its touristic offer, accordingly to the needs and interests of the town, is established in this research. A descriptive survey research was done, using three types of samples: the aleatory ones directed to the inhabitants of Parroquia Chuao and the tourist or visitors. An intentional sample directed to the representatives of the tourism and cultural leading organizations of the municipality and of the state. Index card, questionnaire, and a semi-structured interview were applied.La investigación establece estrategias para lograr la incorporación del patrimonio ambiental de la Parroquia Chuao, a la oferta turística del municipio Santiago Mariño, en el estado Aragua, Venezuela, en la intención de responder a las necesidades e intereses de la población en estudio. Es de carácter descriptivo sustentada en un diseño de investigación de campo. Se escogieron tres de muestras: los habitantes de la Parroquia Chuao, los turistas o visitantes, estimada a través del muestreo aleatorio simple y una muestra intencional a los entes rectores de la actividad turística y cultural del Municipio y del Estado. Se utilizó la técnica del fichaje, la encuesta y la entrevista semi estructurada
