A Model for Ministry of Church Elders in the Inca Union of Seventh-Day Adventists

Purpose. The purpose of this research was to elucidate the ministry of lay elders as it is suggested in the New Testament and to construct a model for the ministry of local church elders in the Inca Union Mission. Method. This study was documentary and theological. The primary source was the New Testament, specifically the gospels, the book of Acts, and the epistles. Secondary literature was employed to support the biblical findings of the elders\u27 tasks. Conclusions. In harmony with the teaching of the Scriptures regarding early church organization and leadership, elders are selected by the local church and ordained to function primarily as shepherds, leaders, and teachers in their local communities. Selection by the church is on the basis of character and appropriate spiritual gifts. The proposed model of elders\u27 ministry includes: a selection process, training for specific ministry, organization into a Board of Elders, implementation of ministry, all within a professional pastoral supervision. This model is proposed as the formalization of the process of training modeled by Jesus Christ and the apostles. It is proposed that the implementation of this model will facilitate church growth in two ways: first by slowing the present rates of apostasy in the Inca Union Mission through nurture and second by increasing the effectiveness of outreach with the community

Strong cosmic censorship: The nonlinear story

A satisfactory formulation of the laws of physics entails that the future evolution of a physical system should be determined from appropriate initial conditions. The existence of Cauchy horizons in solutions of the Einstein field equations is therefore problematic, and expected to be an unstable artifact of General Relativity. This is asserted by the Strong Cosmic Censorship Conjecture, which was recently put into question by an analysis of the linearized equations in the exterior of charged black holes in an expanding universe. Here, we numerically evolve the nonlinear Einstein-Maxwell-scalar field equations with a positive cosmological constant, under spherical symmetry, and provide strong evidence that mass inflation indeed does not occur in the near extremal regime. The influence of social value and selfcongruity on interpersonal connections in virtual social networks by Gen-Y tourists

This research focuses on the relationship of self-congruity and perceived social value with the interpersonal connections established by Generation Y tourists in virtual social networks. A quantitative study was performed using a sample of young travelers from Spain. The methodologies of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Models (SEM) were used to analyze the results. The findings of the research show that self-congruity influences the perceived social value; the perceived social value leads to satisfaction and the creation of interpersonal connections in virtual social networks; and the interpersonal connections in virtual social networks influence the use of these tools by Generation Y travelers

Mestrado em Meteorologia e Oceanografia FísicaEste trabalho resultou da minha colaboração na Martifer Energy Systems no âmbito do projecto FLOW. Ao longo deste projecto foi necessário a compreensão da dinâmica da região de instalação de um dispositivo para extracção da energia das ondas, com especial importância para o regime de correntes. Para tal foi implementado o modelo numérico oceanográfico ROMS AGRIF e que foi utilizado para o estudo de diversos parâmetros, como temperatura e a salinidade. Um estudo de movimento de flutuadores lagrangeanos foi efectuado com vista à estimação de um cenário extremo em caso de falha no sistema de amarração do dispositivo ou fuga de fluidos hidráulicos e que permitam analisar um padrão no seu deslocamento face à presença de condições meteorológicas semelhantes. ABSTRACT: This work resulted in my collaboration in the FLOW project at Martifer Energy Systems. During the development of this project it was necessary to understand the dynamics of the instalation region of a device for extracting energy from ocean waves, with particular relevance to the current regime. It has installed the oceanographic numerical model ROMS AGRIF and was used to study various parameters such as temperature and salinity. A motions study of lagrangean floats was made in case of failure of the mooring system of the device, leakage of hydraulic fluid and for analyzing a pattern in its movement against the presence of adverse weather conditions

Propuesta de balance social para fundaciones

This paper is based on the fact that foundations need to end their isolation, via accountability and practising social responsibility. This task can be accomplished using the social balance, which is defined as the ideal instrument for communication between foundations and the Administrations (Protectorados (public foundation inspection authorities), the Internal Revenue Service and the relevant sectoral managing Centres), their current or future beneficiaries, their benefactors (donors and volunteers), the target community for their general welfare actions and, finally, society. This instrument verifies proper fulfillment of the general welfare function, and is also an instrument for the planning and subsequent assessment of the activities developed. The work then looks at the consequences of social balance in Europe, the internal elements of this figure, and the methodology for its implementation. Finally, a social balance suitable for foundations is carried out, with the following structure: introduction, presentation of the foundation, study of activities and extent of influence in society, study of human and material resources, economic and financial data and summing-up.Social Balance, social responsibility, transparency, social accounts, general welfare, social indicators, good practice, accountability.

A pan-tilt camera Fuzzy vision controller on an unmanned aerial vehicle

is paper presents an implementation of two Fuzzy Logic controllers working in parallel for a pan-tilt camera platform on an UAV. This implementation uses a basic Lucas-Kanade tracker algorithm, which sends information about the error between the center of the object to track and the center of the image, to the Fuzzy controller. This information is enough for the controller, to follow the object moving a two axis servo-platform, besides the UAV vibrations and movements.
