    Pembelajaran dengan Model Discovery Learning Berbasis Chemdraw untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Ikatan Kovalen

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep ikatan kovalen siswa kelas X IPA 3 di SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa dengan model pembelajaran discovery learning berbasis chemdraw. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa pada materi ikatan kovalen dengan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA 3 di SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa yang berjumlah 29 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Tes yang digunakan adalah tes uraian dengan jumlah soal 5 nomor tiap siklus. Pengukuruan pemahaman konsep siswa dianalisis dengan cara menghitung persentase berdasarkan jumlah skor siswa yang dibagi dengan skor total dan dikalikan 100% dengan kriteria tingkat pemahaman tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil presentase pemahaman konsep pada siklus I sebesar 73,1% dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 95,2% sehingga telah memenuhi indikator kinerja sebesar 85%. Hal ini juga didukung oleh kegiatan guru dan kegiatan siswa yang mengalami peningkatan yang awalnya pada siklus I persentase kegiatan guru dari 40,7% dengan kategori cukup menjadi 95,7% dengan kategori sangat baik dan persentase kegiatan siswa dari 39,1% dengan kategori kurang menjadi 94,1% dengan kategori sangat baik

    The ability of students to understand and use concepts is the main key in scientifically explaining various chemical phenomena in nature. This ability develops relatively, often with the development of the learner level. This study aims to understand the level of understanding of the concept of salt hydrolysis of class XI high school students and chemistry students in the I, II, III and IV years and non-chemistry students with a total sample of 875 respondents. The instrument used in this study was a four-level multiple choice test. This diagnostic test combines the measurement of knowledge and reasoning with the level of self-confidence, as a reflection of the level of mastery of concepts. The data analysis technique used is quantitative, using SPSS 25 software, namely the non-parametric test (Kruskal Wallis test), comparing the significance value (Asmp. Sig) with a probability of 0.005. The results showed that the significance value of 0.00 was less than 0.05; That is, there is a significant difference in the level of understanding of the salt hydrolysis concept of students. The level of understanding of the concept of high school students is better than the first, second, third, and fourth year students in chemistry and non-chemistry students.     This research is a descriptive study, which aims to determine students' misconceptions about acid-base material in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa. The instrument used is Two-tier multiple choice. The research subjects used were class XI Science at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa, with a sample size of 66 students. Research data was obtained from students' answers to two-tier multiple choice questions. The data is processed based on student answer patterns, which are then grouped into categories of understanding the concept, misconception 1, misconception 2, and not understanding the concept. The research results showed that students who experienced misconception 1 (MK1) were 14.65%, and misconception 2 (MK2) were 16.23%

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI IPA dalam menyelesaikan soal kimia pada materi konsep mol di MAN 1 Kota Gorontalo. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pilihan ganda sebanyak 10 butir soal. Instrumen telah dilakukan uji validitas dengan hasil validasi instrumen yang diperoleh sebesar 93,3%. Responden penelitian ada 131 siswa kelas XI IPA di MAN 1 Kota Gorontalo. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan cara observasi, pemberian tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep siswa pada indikator menjelaskan konsep mol memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 47% dengan kategori kurang, pada indikator menghitung massa atom relatif (Ar) dan massa molekul relatif (Mr) memperoleh nilai rata-rata persentase sebesar 87% dengan kategori Baik, pada indikator Mengkonversi jumlah mol dengan jumlah partikel, massa dan volume zat memperoleh nilai rata-rata persentase sebesar 79% dengan kategori baik, dan untuk indikator memprediksi rumus empiris molekul dan air kristal serta kadar zat dalam senyawa memperoleh persentase sebesar 44% dengan kategori kurang

    This research aimed to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on students’ learning outcomes on the colloid topic. This research applied an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this study was conducted in one of the SMA in The Bone Bolango district. To determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on students’ learning outcomes in the colloid topic, the researcher used a test in the form of an essay with five questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. In the meantime, the hypothesis testing in this study was carried out by employing a t-test. The results of hypothesis testing obtained that the tcount value of 7,7 was higher than 1,67649. Where H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it could be concluded that the problem-based learning model affected students’ learning outcomes in the colloid topic

    Developing Competency Evaluation of Pre-service Science Teachers in Industrial Revolution 4.0: Revealing Pedagogic and Professional Competencies

    This study aimed to develop an instrument to assess science teacher candidates’ professional and pedagogical competence in the Industrial revolution 4.0. The instrument consisted of 30 questions and was used in the main study, which was analyzed using the Rasch model to unravel the reliability and empirical validity. The questions were developed based on a predetermined grid including the skills and literacy aspects used in the industrial revolution 4.0. The 30 revised questions were then tested on 60 students of Science Education at two State universities in Indonesia who were in their third year of study times. The Rasch model was employed to test its reliability and empirical validity that included Wright map analysis, item difficulty level, distractor analysis, and item suitability with the Rasch model. The results showed that the reliability value of the professional aspect was .95 and classified as an excellent category. Moreover, the pedagogic aspect obtained .93 and was classified as a very good category. Only one question was the most difficult and did not fit the Rasch model, while the others already fitted. This reliable and valid instrument is suggested to be useful in assessing pre-service science teachers’ competence

    Applying Diagnostic Assessment with Rasch Analysis to Measure Students' Basic Understanding of Economics

    Reviewing student understanding can be done through the diagnostic assessment process. However, many teachers have difficulty in conducting assessments. Based on the results of the theoretical study, Rasch Model Analysis can make it easier for teachers to conduct diagnostic assessments. Rasch model analysis can be used to measure the effectiveness of items on test instruments, the level of ability of respondents, and detecting differences in ability and item bias. For those reason, researchers conducted a diagnostic assessment to 330 students in 10th grade from three different High Schools in Gorontalo City. The test results processed and analyzed using Rasch modeling. The results was described in this study with a Quantitative Descriptive approach. The purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness of the test instrument in the diagnostic assessment process, the level of student understanding, and to determine whether there are differences in ability based on gender and school category. This research found that: 1) the test instrument has good validity and reliability; 2) Students' concept understanding ability was divided into: 6% very high, 25% high, 29% medium, 25% low and 15% very low. 3) There was a significant difference between students' understanding based on school origin criteria. The findings of this research are expected to serve as recommendations for future teachers and educational practitioners to integrate diagnostic measurement with the Rasch model in evaluating student understanding
