La poesía náhuatl en su originalidad existencial. Una aproximación filosófica

Ante la cosificación de la existencia a la que nos enfrentamos por un progreso desmedido y una mentalidad cientificista, se establece un punto de encuentro entre la fenomenología y la poesía, a saber: la percepción de lo existencialmente originario, una forma de encuentro con lo fundante, con lo que está más allá de la vorágine de nuestra forma actual de vida. Este trabajo muestra como la poesía náhuatl es una forma eminentísima de intuición poética; a través de su lirismo nos pone ante lo más originario de nuestra existencia. A Philosophical Approach ABSTRACT: Because of the reification of existence that we are facing, due to excessive progress and a scientificistic mentality, there is an encounter between phenomenology and poetry; this encounter is the perception of that which is existentially original, a way of encounter with the foundational, with that which is beyond the vortex of our current way of life. This work shows how náhuatl poetry is an eminent form of poetic intuition; through its lyricism it sets us in the most original of our existence. Los seguros marítimos y la movilidad como biopolítica de seguridad

There is nothing natural about mobility regimes. They are the result of complex ensembles of power that involve the control of conducts in the form of moral economies. To analize mobility as a political, social, cultural and economic phenomenon circumscribed to the promotion and protection of forms and styles of life, opens up the possibility to investigate, following the work of Foucault, what can be called a biopolitics of mobility. Mobility, from this perspective, must be approached, not from the abstract, but from concrete practices, discourses and technologies through which people, goods, and services are put in circulation. Such circulation, together with its allied connectivity and complexity, constitute what has been termed the quasi-transcendentals for contemporary liberal life. Building on this theory, the article offers a reading of maritime mobility from the study of insurance discourses and practices. In particular, the role of Lloyd’s of London is analyzed as constituting moral economies of maritime mobility.Regímenes de movilidad no son en absoluto naturales. Son el resultado de complejos entramados de poder que incorporan formas de control de comportamientos, a manera de lo que se puede llamar economías morales. El analizar la movilidad como fenómeno político, social, cultural, y económico, circunscrito a la promoción y protección de formas y estilos de vida, abre la posibilidad de investigar lo que puede llamarse, siguiendo el pensamiento de Foucault, una biopolítica de movilidad. La movilidad, desde está perspectiva, debe investigarse no desde lo abstracto sino en relación a prácticas, discursos, y tecnologías concretas a través de las cuales personas, bienes y servicios son puestas en circulación. Tal circulación, junto con la conectividad que la acompaña y la complejidad de redes que se tejen en su articulación, constituyen lo que ha denominado como los cuasi-transcendentes de la vida liberal contemporánea. Elaborando esta teoría, este artículo ofrece una lectura del fenómeno de la movilidad oceánica a partir del estudio de discursos y prácticas de seguros marítimos. En concreto, se analiza el rol de Lloyd’s of London como mercado global de seguros marítimos en la articulación de economías morales de movilidad oceánica

El microfinanciamiento: una alternativa en el combate a la pobreza extrema en Sonora

Este artículo examina críticamente la experiencia del Banco Grameen (BG) de Bangladesh a fin de comprender los elementos esenciales de su operación. El BG es una institución única en su género que ha logrado desarrollar un método efectivo para llegar a los más pobres de los pobres. Este banco elaboró un modelo financiero que sustituye los requerimientos de garantías colaterales en los préstamos por la responsabilidad de los grupos. El BG organiza a los individuos pobres en grupos, con lo que los hace socialmente aptos para recibir crédito. El modelo de intermediación financiera que esta institución practica, mejora la productividad y el ingreso de la gente pobre. De la misma manera, la aplicación del modelo contribuye a elevar la tasa de recuperación de créditos, lo que a su vez aumenta la viabilidad financiera de la institución. Asimismo, este documento presenta un diseño y un plan de negocios para implantar un prototipo del BG en el poblado Miguel Alemán, municipio de Hermosillo, Sonora. Replicar el modelo Grameen en el México rural es un reto que exige importantes adaptaciones al modelo original. Las diferencias sociales, culturales y religiosas entre México y Bangladesh exigen consideraciones especiales al establecer los métodos administrativos y operativos de un programa de crédito del estilo Grameen. Sin embargo, basados en el plan de negocios, se ha considerado que un programa de crédito para mujeres pobres en la Costa de Hermosillo tiene viabilidad económica y perdurabilidad en el tiempo

Introducing probabilistic celular automata. A versatile extension of Game of Live

The "Game of life" model was created in 1970 by the mathematician Jonh Horton Conway using cellular automata. Since then, di erent extensions of these cellular automata have been used in many applications, such as car traffic control or baggage traffic in an airport. These extensions introduce ideas not only from cellular automata models but also from neural networks theory. In this work, we introduce probabilistic cellular automata which include non-deterministic rules for transitions between successive generations of the automaton together with probabilistic decisions about life and death of the cells in next generation of the automaton. This way, more realistic situations can be modeled and the obtained results are also non-deterministic. As an example of use, an implementation of this probabilistic cellular automaton has been developed using it for simulating tissues evolution. Insurance, subjectivity, and governnace

Insurance, an industry worth 4.6 trillion USD in premium volume in 2016,1 has major effects on how individuals and collectives are governed in the world. With 80 per cent of premiums sold in OECD countries, it is reasonable to argue that the form of governance it facilitates is premised on the liberal forms of life that insurance has been designed to protect.2 If, as argued in the ‘Introduction’, doing a socio-political economy of the globe is indeed possible, the problem of understanding the role of insurance in creating liberal governance in the world, and the possibility of questioning and resisting this process, is certainly an important challenge. This can only be done, as posed by the forum, by integrating the analysis of the political, the economic and the sociocultural, of the everyday and the global, as a single problem space where an integration between IPE and IPS has much to offer. Kn 26, a New Quadrupolar Planetary Nebula

Once classified as an emission line source, the planetary nebula (PN) nature of the source Kn 26 has been only recently recognized in digital sky surveys. To investigate the spectral properties and spatio-kinematical structure of Kn 26, we have obtained high spatial-resolution optical and near-IR narrow-band images, high-dispersion long-slit echelle spectra, and intermediate-resolution spectroscopic observations. The new data reveal an hourglass morphology typical of bipolar PNe. A detailed analysis of its morphology and kinematics discloses the presence of a second pair of bipolar lobes, making Kn 26 a new member of the subclass of quadrupolar PNe. The time-lap between the ejection of the two pairs of bipolar lobes is much smaller than their dynamical ages, implying a rapid change of the preferential direction of the central engine. The chemical composition of Kn 26 is particularly unusual among PNe, with a low N/O ratio (as of type II PNe) and a high helium abundance (as of type I PNe), although not atypical among symbiotic stars. Such an anomalous chemical composition may have resulted from the curtail of the time in the Asymptotic Giant Branch by the evolution of the progenitor star through a common envelope phase.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in A&
